They’ve served with their best, their honor, and life,
And deep in our hearts we shed tears for their strife.
They’ve served up their blood, their sweat, and their tears,
They protect this old world from tyranny’s fears.

America, America, our sons who gave for thee.

Lads who’ve grown fast, strong men of our clan.
Each one went forward becoming a man,
They’ve given their lives, to face trouble’s abode.
On them we depend, paving our freedom’s road.

We all feel so safe and distracted at home.
Sitting and chattering our everyday drone.
They’ve marched and protected constitutional flanks.
While we in our nests, daily offer our thanks!

When they’re living and dying and all out of sorts
We should shout with the grandeur we offer for sports,
And ponder and glory in the gift of their grace,
As we drive to and fro on our streets feeling safe.
