Hour 1: News + Open lines
Hour 2: John Goetz, award-winning writer, investigative journalist and filmmaker.
Mohamedou Ould Slahi’s Guantanamo experience, the aftermath of 9/11 and the “War on Terror” are explored in the new documentary “Guantanamo Diary Revisited,” now out on DVD and SVOD, and directed by John Goetz.
The so-called Guantanamo “Special Projects” team is clouded in secrecy, with the members’ identities amongst the most protected in the American security state.
While viewers are left to ponder Slahi’s potential guilt as the smooth talking long-time terrorism suspect invites his American torturers to drink tea with him, the film details a surprising revelation: it is not only Slahi who still suffers from his Guantanamo ordeal – the Americans who worked there are troubled and haunted by their experiences too. The investigation leads to remarkable encounters and troubling and surprising disclosures.
