Nord Stream Sabotage Was CIA, US Navy Covert Op: Seymour Hersh Bombshell Prompts White House Response

Famed journalist and Pulitzer prize winner Seymour Hersh, who for decades was a star reporter writing for The New York Times and New Yorker, on Wednesday published a new bombshell as his first Substack post, prompting a quick White House response

After conducting his own investigation into who sabotaged the Nord Stream pipelines via a series of underwater blasts on Sept. 26, Hersh has concluded the United States blew up the Russia-to-Germany natural gas pipeline as part of a covert operation under the guise of the BALTOPS 22 NATO exercise.

White House Dismisses Report That Claims US Blew Up Nord Stream Pipeline Last Year

White House officials on Feb. 8 dismissed a report from an investigative journalist that claims the United States was behind the sabotage of the Nord Stream gas pipelines in 2022.

“This is utterly false and complete fiction,” Adrienne Watson, a spokesperson for the White House National Security Council, said in a statement to news outlets on Feb. 8. A State Department spokesperson issued a similar comment to Reuters.

Longtime investigative journalist Seymour Hersh, a former reporter with The New York Times and The New Yorker magazine who first gained prominence in 1969 for his reporting on the My Lai massacre during the Vietnam War, published a report on his Substack page on Feb. 8, titled “How America Took Out The Nord Stream Pipeline,” that cited unnamed sources for his claims.

“Last June, the Navy divers, operating under the cover of a widely publicized mid-summer NATO exercise known as BALTOPS 22, planted the remotely triggered explosives that, three months later, destroyed three of the four Nord Stream pipelines, according to a source with direct knowledge of the operational planning,” Hersch wrote.

Tammy Thorp, a spokesperson for the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), similarly said in a statement that “this claim is completely and utterly false.”

House Votes to End Vaccine Mandate for Foreigners Traveling to US

The House of Representatives on Feb. 8 passed a bill that would end a vaccine mandate on foreign travelers entering the United States.

H.R. 185, introduced by Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.), is a brief bill.

“A BILL [to] terminate the requirement imposed by the Director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention for proof of COVID–19 vaccination for foreign travelers,” the top of the legislation reads.

The legislation would forbid federal agencies from using any congressionally apportioned funds to enforce such a vaccination mandate.

In addition to overruling the CDC’s April 2022 order, the bill would prohibit the imposition of any similar vaccination requirement for foreign travelers entering the United States in the future.

The bill passed in a 227-201 vote.

French Farmers Stage Mass Tractor Protest in Paris Against EU Green Diktats

Thousands of French farmers accompanied by hundreds of tractors descended upon the capital of Paris in response to the government’s adoption of the latest EU green agenda diktat.

In what is reported to be the largest farmer demonstration in France since 2019, some 500 tractors and thousands more people converged on Paris on Wednesday to protest against the decision last month by the government of Emmanuel Macron to ban the use of neonicotinoid insecticides for sugar beets following a ruling from the EU’s Court of Justice.

Britons facing ‘permanent’ reduction in living standards – report

This year 7 million households will be affected, economists have predicted

UK households are suffering a “permanent” decline in living standards as wages lag behind double-digit inflation and families struggle to pay their bills, the National Institute of Economic and Social Research (NIESR) has warned.

According to a forecast by the UK’s oldest independent economic research institute released on Wednesday, 7 million households, which is the equivalent of one in four, will be unable to cover their energy and food bills once the government starts scaling back its subsidies program in April.

Energy prices remain high, while inflation is running above 10%, more than five times the Bank of England’s 2% target. NIESR said the target will not be reached until the second half of 2025.

Grocery inflation alone soared to a new record of 16.7% in the four weeks of January, taking the average annual food shopping bill in the UK to £5,504 ($6,781), up £788 ($974) from last year, according to the latest research by Kantar.

NIESR economists warn that middle-income households will be hit hardest by the cost-of-living crisis. While the poorest families receive additional state aid, the middle classes will face a decline of between 7% and 13% in their disposable income, or as much as £4,000 ($4,800).

“What we’ve seen is that the shocks that have come along have progressively made us poorer per person,” said NIESR director Jagjit Chadha.

Although the institute believes the UK will narrowly escape a recession, it predicts the country will see “anemic” growth of just 0.2% this year before GDP rises 1% in 2024 and 1.6% in 2025. For millions of households it “will certainly feel like a recession,” NIESR warned.

House Members to Receive Classified Briefing on Chinese Spy Balloon on Thursday

Multiple Congressional staffers have confirmed to The Epoch Times that Congressional representatives will be briefed on the morning of Feb. 9 regarding the Chinese spy balloon that flew over the United States last week.

The meeting comes after days of debate between Republicans and Democrats about how the Biden administration addressed the craft and the threat from communist China, more generally.

House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) has pressed for just an all-of-Congress meeting, as confirmed by House Majority Leader Steve Scalise (R-La.) on Feb. 7

‘If China Threatens Our Sovereignty, We Will Act’: Biden in State of the Union

President Joe Biden has sworn to protect U.S. sovereignty in the face of Chinese communist aggression amid bipartisan alarm over the growing threat posed by Beijing.

Biden said his order to shoot down a Chinese spy balloon that traversed U.S. airspace last week was evidence of his commitment to defend the nation and to bring the fight to China’s communist regime when necessary.

“I am committed to work with China where it can advance American interests and benefit the world,” Biden said during his State of the Union speech on Feb. 7.

“But make no mistake about it: As we made clear last week, if China threatens our sovereignty, we will act to protect our country. And we did.”

The president used the opportunity to underscore that he had outlined the U.S. stance to Chinese Communist Party (CCP) leader Xi Jinping and made clear that it preferred competition over conflict, a statement the administration has repeatedly highlighted over the past two years.

“I’ve made clear with Xi that we seek competition, not conflict,” Biden said. “And let’s be clear: Winning the competition should unite all of us.”

IRS Recommends Taxpayers to Wait for ‘Additional Clarification’ Before Filing Returns Due to Refund Confusion

The Internal Revenue Service has advised millions of taxpayers who have benefited from state rebate and refund payment programs to currently hold off from filing their income tax return while the agency decides on how to treat such receipts.

“There are a variety of state programs that distributed these payments in 2022 and the rules surrounding them are complex. We expect to provide additional clarity for as many states and taxpayers as possible next week. For taxpayers uncertain about the taxability of their state payments, the IRS recommends they wait until additional guidance is available or consult with a reputable tax professional,” the agency said in a statement on Feb. 3.

“For taxpayers and tax preparers with questions, the best course of action is to wait for additional clarification on state payments rather than calling the IRS. We also do not recommend amending a previously filed 2022 return.”

Over a dozen states had issued rebates and refunds to citizens last year similar to federal pandemic stimulus payments. For instance, California alone made over 16 million special Middle-Class Tax Refund payments in 2022, which were aimed at helping people offset high gas prices and inflation.

Four Supreme Court Justices Don’t Attend Biden’s State of the Union

A review of footage of the area where Supreme Court justices sat during the speech show that Justices Sonia Sotomayor, Clarence Thomas, Neil Gorsuch, and Samuel Alito weren’t present. Sotomayor was appointed by former President Barack Obama, whereas the other three were appointed by former Presidents George H.W. Bush, George W. Bush, and Donald Trump, respectively.

There were no public comments from the court or the individual justices about why they did not attend the event. The Epoch Times has contacted the Supreme Court for comment.

In Thomas’s case, the longtime justice has not been to any State of the Union speech since 2006. Thomas in 2010 explained his reasoning why during a speech to students.

“I don’t go because it has become so partisan and it’s very uncomfortable for a judge to sit there,” Thomas said at the Stetson University College of Law in Gulfport, Florida, in 2010, reported the Washington Examiner. “There’s a lot that you don’t hear on TV.”

Justices Brett Kavanaugh, Elena Kagan, Amy Coney Barrett, and Ketanji Brown Jackson were in attendance. Chief Justice John Roberts also attended the event.

Hunter Biden Sends Giuliani, Bobulinski, ‘Desperate, Frivolous, and Laughable’ Letter to Preserve ‘Laptop from Hell’ Records

Hunter Biden and his high-powered and expensive legal team sent Rudy Giuliani, Tony Bobulinski, and 12 others a “litigation hold” letter to preserve “Laptop from Hell” records, a move seen by some critics as a public relations tactic to change the troubling narrative for the Biden family.

The litigation letter asks the individuals to “preserve potential evidence for future lawsuits related to the alleged theft of personal data that may include information from his laptop,” NBC News reported.

Victoria White, Beaten by Police With Metal Baton on Head on Jan. 6, to Decline Plea Deal

Victoria C. White, the Minnesota woman shown on security video being repeatedly beaten by police in the Lower West Terrace Tunnel at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, has decided to reject a plea offer from federal prosecutors after she met with several members of the Republican-controlled House of Representatives.

U.S. District Judge John D. Bates has a plea hearing scheduled for 11:30 a.m. EST on Feb. 10 in the federal courthouse in Washington.

“Well, things are changing,” White, 41, told The Epoch Times in a text message on Feb. 7.

Asked if she was going to decline the plea offer, she replied: “Yes. I honestly never wanted to take it in the first place.”

White was among a group of people who attended the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol breach that met with congressional representatives at the Capitol on Feb. 6 and Feb. 7. White said the group “sat down with [Rep.] Lauren Boebert [R-Colo.] about investigating January 6th and the murders on J6, mistreatment, lack of actual fair trial, the political prisoners, the weaponization of the feds against us, etc. We also spoke with [Rep.] Byron Donalds [R-Fla.].”

The Jan. 6, 2021, group included Ashli Babbitt’s mother, Micki Witthoeft; Nicole Reffitt, wife of Guy Reffitt, the first Jan. 6 defendant found guilty at trial; David Valentine, founder of Freedom Express Media, which broadcasts nightly vigils outside the District of Columbia jail; and several others with ties to Jan. 6, according to White.

On Feb. 7, she posted on Twitter, “I will NOT be taking a plea deal.”

Gov. Chris Sununu Takes Major Step Toward Launching White House Bid

New Hampshire Gov. Chris Sununu (R) launched the Live Free or Die committee this week, marking a significant step toward laying the foundation for a White House bid in 2024.

Named after New Hampshire’s motto, Sununu’s Live Free or Die Committee is a 501(c)(4) organization that allows him to raise unlimited funds as he gauges interest from donors.

Sununu confirmed the creation of his committee on Wednesday, telling NBC News he is “excited to talk about the successes that we’ve had in New Hampshire.”

Sununu said:

I’m excited to talk about the successes that we’ve had in New Hampshire: lowering taxes, creating educational choices for parents and kids, and building opportunities for businesses to grow and thrive. What we’ve done in New Hampshire is a great model for the federal government — specifically promoting the conservative tenets of limited government, local control, and individual responsibility.

The committee’s formation comes after Sununu told ABC over the weekend that he is “definitely thinking about” running for president.

“I’m definitely thinking about it and having those conversations. But at the end of the day, you’re going to have a lot of Republicans that get in that race,” Sununu told ABC. “They’re all really good people. They’re really good candidates. We want to vote for the most conservative candidate that can win in November and get stuff done.”

Kevin McCarthy Raises $12.3 Million in First Fundraising Event as Speaker

Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) raised $12.3 million on Wednesday in his first fundraising event since being elected Speaker of the House.

McCarthy’s Wednesday fundraiser at the Conrad hotel was hosted by McCarthy ally and prominent D.C. lobbyist Jeff Miller.

McCarthy was joined by nearly all Republican House Committee chairs, including Armed Services Chair Mike Rogers (R-AL), Judiciary Chair Jim Jordan (R-OH), Oversight chair James Comer (R-KY), Appropriations chair Kay Granger (R-TX), and Ways and Means chair Jason Smith (R-MO), among others.

As Politico reported:

Their presence was touted by two of the hosts as a sign of Republican unity. Sam Geduldig, one of the event’s co-hosts and co-CEO of the firm CGCN, emphasized McCarthy’s members were eager to show up for him on Wednesday evening.

John Stipicevic, a former McCarthy staffer-turned lobbyist at CGCN and another fundraiser co-host, maintained that McCarthy was in “lock step” with his committee chairs and his conference.

“While all the pundits on national TV stations or all over the world, talking about the deals that he cut — which they can’t explain by the way — weakened him as a speaker, I don’t think his members view him as weakened in any way at all,” said Geduldig. “I think he’s much stronger, and gaining strength, and gaining momentum every minute.”

The cost of attendance for the fundraiser was $50,000, with co-hosts contributing $100,000, and hosts $250,000.

The money will reportedly go to McCarthy’s reelection campaign, his leadership PAC, and the National Republican Congressional Committee.

Biden Defense Dept. sued for improper use of U.S. military

‘Painted a target on Trump and tens of millions of Americans’

Joe Biden’s Department of Defense is being sued for details about the use of Marines during his politicized “hate-MAGA” speech in Philadelphia last year.

In the speech, Biden stood in front of a blood-red backdrop – and was flanked by two Marines – to allege that supporters of President Trump were “an extremism that threatens the very foundations of our republic.”

Christian Students Sue Smithsonian for Kicking Them Out over Pro-Life Hats

Christian students are suing the Smithsonian National Air Space Museum (NASM) for allegedly violating their First and Fifth Amendment rights by kicking them out for wearing pro-life hats following the 50th annual March for Life.

The American Center for Law and Justice (ACLJ) filed the lawsuit on Monday in the federal district court for the District of Columbia on behalf of nine students and three parents it says were “unlawfully targeted for their religious pro-life views” on January 20, 2023.

According to the complaint, students, parents, and chaperones from Our Lady of the Rosary Church and School in South Carolina went to the museum following the March for Life. The group members were wearing hats that said, “Rosary Pro-Life.”

“Following their participation in the March for Life event, Plaintiffs visited the NASM whereby all Plaintiffs were subjected to a pattern of ongoing misconduct by at least five different staff, personnel, employees and/or security guards of NASM including Defendants Jane Does and John Does, which included targeting, harassment, discrimination and, ultimately, eviction from NASM simply because they wore blue hats with the inscription, ‘Rosary Pro-Life,’” the complaint states.

Museum staff allegedly mocked the students, called them expletives, and told them their hats were “political statements” and that they were “not promoting equality.” Staff also allegedly told them that the museum is a “neutral zone” and that the First Amendment “does not apply here.” The complaint notes that several other museum patrons were wearing hats and masks, some of which had rainbow “Pride” graphics

“What the Smithsonian did is beyond reprehensible. These were students simply wearing a hat that passively expressed their support for life on the basis of their Christian faith,” said Jordan Sekulow, ACLJ’s executive director. “The way these students, many of whom were minors, were treated by their federal government – the Smithsonian and its employees – should shock everyone to the core. It’s not only abhorrent; it’s blatantly unconstitutional. And that’s why we’re fighting back.”

More Studies Show Fluoride Affects Brain and Disrupts Sleep

More than 400 animal and human studies show fluoride is a neurotoxic substance, and many have found harm at, or precariously close to, the levels millions of American pregnant women and children receive

A 1 mg-per-day increase in the fluoride a mother gets from drinking water may lower the IQ of her child by 3.7 points

Infants fed baby formula made with fluoridated water have lower IQs than those fed formula made with unfluoridated water. An increase of 0.5 mg/L of fluoride corresponds with a 4.4 point lower IQ score at age 3 to 4

Fluoride may have an adverse impact on sleep by preferentially accumulating in the pineal gland, thereby inhibiting the production of melatonin

3 Kinds of Exercise That Boost Heart Health

Being physically active is a major step toward good heart health. It’s one of your most effective tools for strengthening the heart muscle, keeping your weight under control and warding off the artery damage from high cholesterol, high blood sugar and high blood pressure that can lead to heart attack or stroke.

It’s also true that different types of exercise are needed to provide complete fitness. “Aerobic exercise and resistance training are the most important for heart health,” says Kerry J. Stewart, Ed.D. “Although flexibility doesn’t contribute directly to heart health, it’s nevertheless important because it provides a good foundation for performing aerobic and strength exercises more effectively.”

Here’s how different types of exercise benefit you.

Aerobic Exercise

What it does: Aerobic exercise improves circulation, which results in lowered blood pressure and heart rate, Stewart says. In addition, it increases your overall aerobic fitness, as measured by a treadmill test, for example, and it helps your cardiac output (how well your heart pumps). Aerobic exercise also reduces the risk of type 2 diabetes and, if you already live with diabetes, helps you control your blood glucose.

How much: Ideally, at least 30 minutes a day, at least five days a week.

Examples: Brisk walking, running, swimming, cycling, playing tennis and jumping rope. Heart-pumping aerobic exercise is the kind that doctors have in mind when they recommend at least 150 minutes per week of moderate activity.

Resistance Training (Strength Work)

What it does: Resistance training has a more specific effect on body composition, Stewart says. For people who are carrying a lot of body fat (including a big belly, which is a risk factor for heart disease), it can help reduce fat and create leaner muscle mass. Research shows that a combination of aerobic exercise and resistance work may help raise HDL (good) cholesterol and lower LDL (bad) cholesterol.

How much: At least two nonconsecutive days per week of resistance training is a good rule of thumb, according to the American College of Sports Medicine.

Examples: Working out with free weights (such as hand weights, dumbbells or barbells), on weight machines, with resistance bands or through body-resistance exercises, such as push-ups, squats and chin-ups.

Stretching, Flexibility and Balance

What they do: Flexibility workouts, such as stretching, don’t directly contribute to heart health. What they do is benefit musculoskeletal health, which enables you to stay flexible and free from joint pain, cramping and other muscular issues. That flexibility is a critical part of being able to maintain aerobic exercise and resistance training, says Stewart.

“If you have a good musculoskeletal foundation, that enables you to do the exercises that help your heart,” he says. As a bonus, flexibility and balance exercises help maintain stability and prevent falls, which can cause injuries that limit other kinds of exercise.

How much: Every day and before and after other exercise.

Examples: There are basic stretches you can do at home, or you can find DVDs or YouTube videos to follow. Tai chi and yoga also improve these skills, and classes are available in many communities.

18 percent of adults using some type of sleep medication: study

Women tended to use medication for sleep more than men.

Nearly 1 in 5 U.S. adults are turning to sleep medication to get a good night’s rest, according to new data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

The agency analyzed data from the 2020 National Health Interview Survey that looked at how many American men and women use sleep medications to fall or stay asleep during a 30-day period.

The CDC discovered that 10 percent of U.S. adults reported taking a sleep medication “some days” to help them fall or stay asleep, while 6.3 percent did it every day and 2.1 percent took one “most” days.

Age, gender, income and ethnicity all played a role in how frequently adults used sleep medication.

As family income increased, sleep medication use decreased, the CDC found.

Women were more likely than men to use a type of sleep medication and older adults were more likely than younger adults to rely on a form of sleep medication to fall or stay asleep, the CDC found.

About 10 percent of women versus 6.6 percent of men reported using a sleep medication within a one-month period.

About 6 percent of adults between the ages of 18 and 44 said they use a type of sleep medication, while a little more than 10 percent of adults aged 45-64 said they used a medication to fall or stay asleep.

Meanwhile, almost 12 percent of adults 65 years old or older said they used a sleep medication.

Disney to Lay Off 7000 Employees as CEO Bob Iger Slashes Spending Amid Profitability Crisis

The happiest place on Earth is swimming in a sea of red ink and pink slips.

The Walt Disney Co. is eliminating 7,000 jobs worldwide, or more than 3 percent of its workforce, as CEO Bob Iger aims to slash a stunning $5.5 billion in spending in an attempt to save the once formidable company.

Bob Iger announced the cuts Wednesday during Disney’s first quarter earnings report, saying it was not an easy decision to make. “I have enormous respect and appreciation for the dedication of our employees worldwide,” he said. “While this is necessary to address the challenges we face today, I do not make this decision lightly.”

Biden Announces Standards Requiring Use of American-Made Materials for All Government Infrastructure Projects

President Joe Biden announced he would require that government infrastructure projects utilize American-made products.

The president’s comments came during his State of the Union address before a joint session of Congress on Feb. 7.

Despite seeming to indicate disagreement on some issues, both Republicans and Democrats applauded when Biden announced the new standards to require the construction materials to be sourced from the United States.

The push to use American materials is one part of the plan announced by Biden to strengthen the economy.

“Tonight, I’m also announcing new standards to require all construction materials used in federal infrastructure projects to be made in America. American-made lumber, glass, drywall, fiber optic cables,” Biden said about 18 minutes into his speech.

“On my watch, American roads, American bridges, and American highways will be made with American products.”

During his comments, Biden touted his administration’s work to increase jobs and assist in economic growth: “Two years ago, our economy was reeling. As I stand here tonight, we have created a record 12 million new jobs—more jobs created in two years than any president has ever created in four years. Two years ago, COVID had shut down our businesses, closed our schools, and robbed us of so much.”

The president asserted that he has an economic plan that is about “investing in places and people that have been forgotten.”

Biden Grows Workforce with Foreign Workers, Americans Left on Sidelines

President Joe Biden’s administration is growing the United States labor market by adding millions of foreign workers for employers to hire, leaving jobless Americans on the sidelines.

Data published in the New York Times shows that the Biden administration is aiding employers by adding millions of foreign workers to the labor force — ensuring wages stay stagnant — even as native-born Americans struggle to get back into jobs since the Chinese coronavirus pandemic.

“The foreign-born workforce grew much more quickly than the U.S.-born workforce, Labor Department figures show,” the Times reports:

“When the unemployment rate goes down, you would normally expect wage inflation to go up, but that’s not what’s happening,” said Torsten Slok, chief economist at Apollo Global Management. “So there must be something else moving in the labor force, and there is a very likely explanation here that immigrants are coming in and taking jobs.” [Emphasis added]

But despite the resurgence in the foreign-born labor force — about four-fifths of it are people legally allowed to work in the United States, by one calculation — there are bottlenecks. [Emphasis added]

Microsoft Readies ChatGPT-Like AI For Its Search Engine Bing

Microsoft CEO says AI will disrupt the world like the invention of personal computers and “cloud computing.” Microsoft is implementing OpenAI and ChatGPT into Bing while Google is launching Bard into its search engine. By the end of 2023, the knowledge acquisition landscape will be completely transformed and as yet, nobody is exactly certain what it will look like, except that it will adhere to “woke” dogma. ⁃ TN Editor

Microsoft is fusing ChatGPT-like technology into its search engine Bing, transforming an internet service that now trails far behind Google into a new way of communicating with artificial intelligence.

The revamping of Microsoft’s second-place search engine could give the software giant a head start against other tech companies in capitalizing on the worldwide excitement surrounding ChatGPT, a tool that’s awakened millions of people to the possibilities of the latest AI technology.

Along with adding it to Bing, Microsoft is also integrating the chatbot technology into its Edge browser. Microsoft announced the new technology at an event Tuesday at its headquarters in Redmond, Washington.

“Think of it as faster, more accurate, more powerful” than ChatGPT, built with technology from ChatGPT-maker OpenAI but tuned for search queries, said Yusuf Mehdi, a Microsoft executive who leads its consumer division, in an interview.

“First Do No Harm”: Doctor Fired for Helping Patients

The story of Dr. John Day in Texas is an illustration of just how upside-down the medical establishment is today

All throughout the “COVID pandemic,” Dr. Day was serving his patients and doing his job with soul

Not only was he doing his job with soul — being the only one at his clinic who was actually treating COVID patients — he was also helping patients on his free time and volunteering at the clinic by growing a community garden

When the vaccine mandates were announced, Dr. Day declined the injection and also spoke up against the dehumanization of the “unvaccinated”

While, based on Abbot’s executive order, the clinic administration could not proceed with the plan of firing Dr. Day for declining the injection, he was none the less fired in October 2021 for “offending” people with his views and for helping a disabled patient in a wheelchair run a difficult errand, on his “off” day

Flashback: Dr. Deborah Birx Was The Technocrat Destroyer Who Deceived Trump Into Wrecking America Over COVID-19

Deborah Birx is a Technocrat who was orchestrating COVID-19 policies behind the scenes, using treachery and deceit. This is the fallback position of Technocrats whose agenda is or might be blocked in some way. Her blatant disregard for the U.S. Constitution, elected politicians and the Rule of Law set her on a self-appointed mission to deceive the President of the United States and then to deceive the entire medical establishment.

Like snakes in the woodpile, there are more fangs waiting in the shadows to do it all over again. ⁃ TN Editor

The December 2020 resignation of Dr. Deborah Birx, White House Coronavirus Response Coordinator under Trump, revealed predictable hypocrisy. Like so many other government officials around the world, she was caught violating her own stay-at-home order. Therefore she finally left her post following nine months of causing unfathomable amounts of damage to life, liberty, property, and the very idea of hope for the future.

Even if Anthony Fauci had been the front man for the media, it was Birx who was the main influence in the White House behind the nationwide lockdowns that did not stop or control the pathogen but have caused immense suffering and continue to roil and wreck the world. So it was significant that she would not and could not comply with her own dictates, even as her fellow citizens were being hunted down for the same infractions against “public health.”

In the days before Thanksgiving 2020, she had warned Americans to “assume you’re infected” and to restrict gatherings to “your immediate household.” Then she packed her bags and headed to Fenwick Island in Delaware where she met with four generations for a traditional Thanksgiving dinner, as if she were free to make normal choices and live a normal life while everyone else had to shelter in place.

The Associated Press was first out with the report on December 20, 2020.

Birx acknowledged in a statement that she went to her Delaware property. She declined to be interviewed.

She insisted the purpose of the roughly 50-hour visit was to deal with the winterization of the property before a potential sale — something she says she previously hadn’t had time to do because of her busy schedule.

“I did not go to Delaware for the purpose of celebrating Thanksgiving,” Birx said in her statement, adding that her family shared a meal together while in Delaware.

Birx said that everyone on her Delaware trip belongs to her “immediate household,” even as she acknowledged they live in two different homes. She initially called the Potomac home a “3 generation household (formerly 4 generations).” White House officials later said it continues to be a four-generation household, a distinction that would include Birx as part of the home.

So it was all a sleight-of-hand: she was staying home; it’s just that she has several homes! This is how the power elite comply, one supposes.

The BBC then quoted her defense, which echo the pain experienced by hundreds of millions:

“My daughter hasn’t left that house in 10 months, my parents have been isolated for 10 months. They’ve become deeply depressed as I’m sure many elderly have as they’ve not been able to see their sons, their granddaughters. My parents have not been able to see their surviving son for over a year. These are all very difficult things.”

Indeed. However, she was the major voice for the better part of 2020 for requiring exactly that. No one should blame her for wanting to get together with family; that she worked so hard for so long to prevent others from doing so is what is at issue.

Denialism: How The Woke Stifle Dissent

Propaganda comes in all forms of communication and one big item is name calling. The word “denier’ has been overused to great success by woke ideologues: anybody who speaks something that they don’t like is automatically labeled a “denier” and summarily excluded from the discussion. “Denier” is a subtle type of derision, making the target to appear irrelevant, if not malicious. ⁃ TN Editor

As with misinformation, labeling someone who disagrees with the current standardthink as a “denier” has become, pardon the term, endemic amongst the woke.

Covid denier, climate denier, election denier, science denier – are all bandied about to immediately end debate,  tar any difference of opinion as literally insane, and depict anyone who ever disagrees with you as stupid and evil.  This epithet is now even being used pre-emptively to makes sure that no matter what anyone who now or ever questions the move to ban gas stoves will not be doing so based on facts or logic but because of their “gas stove denialism.”

Like so much woke terminology, the initial meaning of the term is far removed from its current usage, though it has the distinct advantage of being generally familiar, allowing it to be “Trojan Horsed” (admittedly, some arise sui generis) into public discourse.

Common usage of the term “in denial” (besides the joke about the river in Egypt) seemed to come to the fore mostly in regards to an inability to face up to an obvious, almost always, personal truth.

In denial about your drinking, in denial about the fact that your kids are actually monsters, in denial about your sexuality (nothing to do with today’s genderpalooza) and on and on.

But, like in almost every case in which the woke have stolen a term from the self-help/therapy movements the term has been utterly bastardized.  For example, trigger and safe space are now used in the opposite way of their initial intent – see here.

NFL Hall of Famer Michael Irvin ‘Baffled’ After Being Pulled From Super Bowl Coverage

The NFL Network said that former Dallas Cowboys star receiver Michael Irvin won’t appear as an NFL Network analyst ahead of Sunday’s Super Bowl following reports that a woman complained of an incident that allegedly took place over the past weekend.

The NFL Media’s vice president of communications, Alex Riethmiller, told multiple news outlets Wednesday that “Michael Irvin will not be a part of NFL Network’s Super Bowl LVII week coverage.”

NFL Media said Irvin “will not be a part of NFL Network’s Super Bowl LVII week coverage” without specifying the details of the woman’s complaint over an incident that allegedly happened Sunday.

Irvin reacted to the news during an interview with several media outlets, denying any wrongdoing.

“Honestly, I’m a bit baffled with it all,” Irvin told the Dallas Morning News. “This all happened in a 45-second conversation in the lobby. When I got back after going out … I came into the lobby, and I talked to somebody. I talked to this girl. I don’t know her, and I talked to her for about 45 seconds.”

The three-time Super Bowl champion added: “We shook hands. Then, I left … that’s all I know.”

‘America’s Got Talent’ Magician Scott Alexander Dead at 52 After Suffering Stroke

America’s Got Talent magician Scott Alexander has died at the age of 52 after suffering a stroke while working on a cruise ship in the Caribbean.

“I lost my husband yesterday. My kids lost their father. He suffered a stroke while working on a cruise ship in St Kitts and did not make it home to us. We are shattered. Please hold us in your prayers,” Alexander’s wife, Jenny, wrote in an Instagram post on Monday.

In 2011, Alexander appeared on Season 6 of America’s Got Talent, where he made it all the way to the quarterfinals before being eliminated.

During his audition, he made a woman appear to levitate over of water, and received a “yes” vote from the show’s three judges, Piers Morgan, Sharon Osbourne, and Howie Mandel. In the quarterfinals, the magician created an illusion of a disappearing gospel choir.
