DAVOS:

U.S. Politicians Who Pimped America To The WEF/Davos Cult

U.S. politicians who receive invitations to the World Economic Forum’s annual meeting in Davos, Switzerland, always seem to say stupid things, or stay silent when they could speak up for American values.

We have several creepy crawlers over there this week who exude what’s wrong with America – Seth Moulton, Joe Manchin and Brian Kemp. There are many others but, for brevity’s sake, let’s focus on these three as examples of why no U.S. politician worth their salt should attend these meetings.

Vera Jourova, the vice president of values and transparency for the Executive European Commission, speaking Tuesday on a Davos panel with the Orwellian title “The Clear and Present Danger of Disinformation,” predicted the U.S. would soon have hate speech laws, like they do in Europe, regulating what people can and can’t say on the internet.

Here she is, sitting next to the Democrat Congressman from Massachusetts, Seth Moulton, who she taps condescendingly on the arm and laughs as she makes her dystopian prediction. Watch the video below and you’ll see Moulton just smiles and says nothing to rebut her evil prediction.

Siemens Chairman Calls for ‘Billion People to Stop Eating Meat’

One billion people should stop eating meat in order to save the climate, the chairman of the largest industrial manufacturing company in Europe told a panel at the World Economic Forum.

Danish businessman and chairman of the German manufacturing giant Siemens, Jim Hagemann Snabe pushed the Great Reset agenda of replacing meat with synthetic proteins at a “Mobilizing for Climate” panel at the annual globalist meeting in Davos, Switzerland on Wednesday.

“If a billion people stop eating meat, I tell you, it has a big impact. Not only does it have a big impact on the current food system, but it will also inspire innovation of food systems,” Snabe said, adding: “I predict we will have proteins not coming from meat in the future, they will probably taste even better.”

“They will be zero carbon and much healthier than the kind of food we eat today, that is the mission we need to get on,” the Siemens boss continued.

The German multinational conglomerate has been a central figure in the so-far disastrous green agenda in the economic heart of Europe, which has left Germany vulnerable to the machinations of global politics, namely Russia’s war in Ukraine. However, the push towards an allegedly greener future has seen Siemens criticised for its alleged ties to the forced labour system in the Communist Chinese concentration camp region of Xinjiang, which is a leading producer of solar panel components.

Despite Seimens’ own sordid history of using forced labour during the reign of Adolf Hitler’s National Socialist Party, the current CEO of the company, Roland Busch, said last year that the EU should not pressure Beijing over forced labour as it might stall the progress of the green agenda.

Al Gore Schools Davos Attendees: Global Warming Is “Equivalent Of 600,000 Hiroshima Bombs Daily”

Al Gore is testing out his performative Greta mode at the World Economic Forum in Davos this week. The former Vice President and Democratic presidential candidate who as early as the 1990’s was dubbed in the pages of The Washington Post as “very boring” and as having a “naturally stiff, wooden persona” momentarily (and very awkwardly) tried to go climate activist beast mode during a Q&A panel.

His attempt this week to pull off a “Greta moment” and shed his notorious stiffness resulted in an unhinged rant wherein he claimed that carbon emissions and greenhouses gases are trapping “as much extra heat as would be released by 600,000 Hiroshima class atomic bombs exploding every single day on the earth.”

That’s right, you heard him correctly… six-hundred-thousand Hiroshima bombs every single day – according to his bizarre rant, which he further said is “boiling the oceans” and creating “rain bombs” and “atmospheric rivers” resulting in millions of “climate refugees”.

“Climate refugees are expected to reach one billion in this century”… he said, before turning to the “xenophobia” somehow unleashed on the world in the process due to the “Hiroshima bombs”.

‘Mask Has Slipped’: Potential Future PM Keir Starmer Says He Prefers Davos over Westminster

In a stunning admission, the leader of the opposition Labour Party and the odds-on favourite to become the next prime minister of the United Kingdom, Sir Keir Starmer, said that he prefers Davos over Westminster.

While Prime Minister Rishi Sunak skipped the annual globalist gathering of the World Economic Forum in Davos, his potential successor, left-wing Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer and his shadow chancellor Rachel Reeves made their way to the Swiss ski resort town to make the pitch for an even more globalist government in Westminster.

Remarkably, the potential future Prime Minister told former BBC journalist Emily Maitlis at the conference that he prefers Davos to Westminster, saying that the seat of power in London is “too constrained”.

“It’s closed and we are not having meaning… once you get out of Westminster, whether it’s Davos or anywhere else, you actually engage with people that you can see working with in the future. Westminster is just a tribal, shouting place,” the Labour leader said.

‘Pure Evil’ — Tony Blair Calls for Digital Vaccine Tracking at Davos Ahead of ‘New Slew of Injectables’

Former British Prime Minister Tony Blair said that global “digital infrastructures” are needed to monitor who is vaccinated as he predicted a “slew” of new vaccines to be introduced to the world in the next few years.

Appearing at the annual World Economic Forum meeting in Davos, Switzerland, Iraq War architect and former Labour Party Prime Minister Tony Blair said that even though the Chinese coronavirus has subsided in the public mind, governments must continue to develop digital tracking systems for vaccines, including for unspecified jabs for the “world’s most dangerous diseases”.

UKRAINE:

Pressure Builds to Send Tanks to Kyiv; Russian Forces Close In on Bakhmut

Leading allies of Kyiv are slated to meet Friday in Germany as pressure mounts on Berlin to provide the Ukrainian military with German-made Leopard combat tanks.

Russian sources, meanwhile, continue to report battlefield gains following the Jan. 10 capture of Soledar, a salt-mining town in the Donetsk region.

Russia official warns West of destruction for arming Ukraine

The speaker of the lower house of Russia’s parliament warned Sunday that countries supplying Ukraine with more powerful weapons risked their own destruction, a message that followed new pledges of armored vehicles, air defense systems and other equipment but not the battle tanks Kyiv requested.

Ukraine’s supporters pledged billions of dollars in military aid to Ukraine during a meeting at Ramstein Air Base in Germany on Friday, though the new commitments were overshadowed by a failure to agree on Ukraine’s urgent request for German-made Leopard 2 battle tanks.

State Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin said that governments giving more powerful weapons to Ukraine could cause a “global tragedy that would destroy their countries.”

“Supplies of offensive weapons to the Kyiv regime would lead to a global catastrophe,” he said. “If Washington and NATO supply weapons that would be used for striking peaceful cities and making attempts to seize our territory as they threaten to do, it would trigger a retaliation with more powerful weapons.”

Germany is one of the main donors of weapons to Ukraine, and it ordered a review of its Leopard 2 stocks in preparation for a possible green light. Nonetheless, the government in Berlin has shown caution at each step of increasing its commitments to Ukraine, a hesitancy seen as rooted in its history and political culture.

French President Emmanuel Macron, meanwhile, said Sunday that he does not rule out sending Leclerc battle tanks to Ukraine and had asked his defense minister to “work on” the idea.

Macron spoke during a during a news conference in Paris with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz as their countries commemorating the 60th anniversary of their post-World War II friendship treaty. In a joint declaration, France and Germany committed to their “unwavering support” for Ukraine.

France will make its tank decision based on three criteria, Macron said: that sharing the equipment does not lead to an escalation of the conflict, that it would provide efficient and workable help when training time is taken into account, and that it wouldn’t weaken France’s own military.

Scholz did not respond when asked about the Leopard 2 tanks Sunday, but stressed that his country already has made sizable military contributions to Ukraine.

House Foreign Affairs Chairman Michael McCaul: Skeptics of Ukraine Do Not Know ‘What’s at Stake’

House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Michael McCaul (R-TX) said on Sunday that skeptics of aid to Ukraine do not understand “what’s at stake.”

McCaul told CNN that Republicans who do not support more aid to Ukraine may need to be convinced by more establishment-leaning Republicans that support more aid.

CDC Aware of Hundreds of Safety Signals for COVID Jab

In September 2022, The Epoch Times asked the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to release its Proportional Reporting Ratio (PRR) data mining results. The CDC refused. A Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request has now forced the release of these data, and they are stunning

The CDC’s PRR monitoring has identified several hundred safety signals, including for Bell’s palsy, blood clots, pulmonary embolism and death. In individuals aged 18 and older, there are 770 safety signals for different adverse events, and more than 500 of them have a stronger safety signal than myocarditis and pericarditis

In the 12- to 17-year-old age group there are 96 safety signals, and in the 5- to 11-year-old group there are 66, including myocarditis, pericarditis, ventricular dysfunction, cardiac valve incompetency, pericardial and pleural effusion, chest pain, appendicitis and appendectomies, Kawasaki’s disease and vitiligo

The proportions of deaths, which were only provided for the 18-plus age group, was 14% for the COVID jabs compared to 4.7% for all other vaccines

The FDA is also required to perform safety monitoring, using empirical Bayesian data mining. The Epoch Times asked the FDA to release its monitoring results in July 2022 but, like the CDC, the FDA refused, only to admit in December 2022 they’d confirmed the Pfizer shot was linked to pulmonary embolism

Chief Inspector Richard Watkinson was supposed to present himself at a police station to be charged with conspiracy to distribute or show indecent images of children, making indecent photos of a child, misconduct in public office, and voyeurism the day he was found dead in his home, The Telegraph reports.

“Chief Inspector Watkinson was facing extremely serious and concerning charges, as the result of a painstaking and thorough police investigation,” explained Commander Jon Savell, described as “Head of Profession” at the Met’s Directorate of Professional Standards.

CLIMATE CHANGE:

Cold Weather, Wind Not Blowing Sees UK Bring Coal Power Plants Back Online

The United Kingdom is presently calm, cloudy, and cold, leaving the burning of natural gas picking up the slack for becalmed ‘renewable’ generation, and even coal-fired power plants saved from being decommissioned this winter ordered back online to keep the lights on.

Three coal-fired power plants, two at Drax in Yorkshire and one at West Burton in Lincolnshire, were ordered to make themselves ready for use in the early hours of Sunday morning as a cold snap — predictable for winter, perhaps — combined with short cloudy days and very little wind sees solar and turbines producing little energy.

IRS Says Tax Filing Season Starts Monday: Here’s What to Expect

The official tax-filing season will start Monday, Jan. 23, and the Internal Revenue Service says the amounts might be different than last year.

“This filing season is the first to benefit the IRS and our nation’s tax system from multi-year funding in the Inflation Reduction Act,” said acting IRS Commissioner Doug O’Donnell in a Jan. 12 news release. “With these new additional resources, taxpayers and tax professionals will see improvements in many areas of the agency this year.”

Although some people might want to file their taxes as soon as possible, the IRS release said that people should “have all the information they need before they file.” If not, they risk “refund delays” or risk needing to file an amended return, the agency said.

Taxpayers have until Tuesday, April 18, to file their taxes in 2023. That’s because April 15 falls on a Saturday and because the Emancipation Day holiday in Washington falls on Monday. Those who want an extension can file one before that date, which will postpone it back to Oct. 16, 2023.

He is expected to be charged with first-degree murder. Police have not released the suspect’s full identity to the public.

Report: Joe Biden to Name Jeff Zients as Next Chief of Staff, Replacing Ron Klain

President Joe Biden will name Jeff Zients, who oversaw the White House’s response to the Chinese coronavirus, to serve as his chief of staff, according to the Washington Post on Sunday. He will replace Ron Klain, who will reportedly depart the administration in the coming weeks.

Notably, Biden, who has sought to expand “diversity” in his administration, is opting for Zients to be his chief of staff and overlooking the rest of his diverse team, such as Anita Dunn, a female senior adviser, and Susan Rice, a woman of color.

DOJ Shows Resistance to House Republicans’ Investigations; GOP Says Department Is ‘Scared’

The Department of Justice (DOJ) told the Republican-led House Judiciary Committee on Friday “it may not always be possible” to comply with the committee’s investigative requests.

“While we will work diligently to accommodate requests for public testimony, it may not always be possible to participate or to address all the topics the Committee wishes to raise,” Carlos Uriarte, the assistant attorney general for the Office of Legislative Affairs, wrote to committee chair Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) in a letter obtained by Breitbart News.

Record Number of Border Deaths During Biden’s First 2 Years

As the number of illegal immigrants flooding across the southern border continues to increase, so does the number of illegal immigrants who die while crossing into the United States, or soon after.

Customs and Border Protection (CBP) recorded a total of 880 illegal immigrant deaths in fiscal 2022, which ended on Sept. 30, 2022. It’s the highest number of deaths since data became available in 1998. The second-highest number on record was fiscal year 2021, with 566 deaths.

The Epoch Times submitted a Freedom of Information request in October 2022 to obtain the data for the past two fiscal years after the Biden administration broke a long-standing policy and stopped publicly releasing the numbers. CBP responded to the Freedom of Information request on Jan. 18.

Previous, publicly available CBP data show 247 illegal immigrants died near the southern border during fiscal 2020, the lowest on record, while 300 died in fiscal 2019.

Thousands Attend Vice President Kamala Harris’s Pro-Abortion Speech in Florida

On the day Americans opposed to abortion are celebrating National Sanctity of Life Sunday in their churches, Vice President Kamala Harris announced the Biden administration’s continued commitment to increased access to abortion.

Harris delivered the message to a packed house of 2,000 people after at least 1,000 more were turned away at the door because the Tallahassee, Florida venue was at capacity.

Harris’s speech was meant to commemorate the 5oth anniversary of the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision in Roe v. Wade, the case that legalized abortion in the United States.

The Supreme Court stole women’s “fundamental right” to abortion in June 2022, when it overturned Roe v. Wade, sending decisions on abortion back to states, Harris said while visiting The Moon nightclub.

She received enthusiastic cheers from the crowd.

Harris compared abortion supporters’ efforts to those of slavery abolitionists, women’s suffrage activists, civil rights activists, and Stonewall riot participants.

Voting System Error in New Jersey Could Flip the Outcome of School Board Race: Officials

A vote-counting error caused some votes to be double-counted and could flip the outcome of a school board race in New Jersey, according to two candidates involved in the race.

Election Systems and Software said that a reporting error was discovered during the Nov. 8 election in Monmouth County, occurring when votes were uploaded via a flash drive. The company, known as ES&S, is the vendor for Monmouth’s election equipment.

The company described the issue to the New Jersey Globe as an “isolated incident occurred due to a human procedural error,” and “an audit of the system yielded this information.” The Epoch Times has contacted ES&S for comment.

“A technician inadvertently loaded votes twice in error,” ES&S spokesperson Katina Granger told CNN on Thursday. “Typically our software blocks this from happening. Unfortunately, a human error in a July software re-installment missed the step that would have flagged the mistake.”

After the re-installing of the software, she added that “a human procedural error during reinstallation excluded a step, which optimizes the system database and ensures USB flash media cannot be read twice during the results loading process” and “because the database was not optimized, the user was not notified when the USB flash

Trump Issues Warning to Republicans About Social Security and Medicare

Former President Donald Trump on Friday urged Republicans in Congress not to cut Social Security or Medicare as some GOP lawmakers have signaled they would use the looming debt ceiling battle as leverage to push for more spending cuts.

“Under no circumstances should Republicans vote to cut a single penny from Medicare or Social Security,” Trump said in a campaign-style video posted on Truth Social. Instead, Trump said that they should focus on cuts to funding to “corrupt foreign countries,” “climate extremism,” “left-wing gender programs from our military,” and “waste” and “abuse” in the government.

Trump said that while Republicans should cut the Biden administration’s spending agenda, they should not penalize seniors and retirees who rely on Social Security payments and Medicare. The former president has made similar statements on the issue, although some Republicans ahead of the midterms suggested cutting funding for both programs.

“The pain should be borne by Washington bureaucrats, not by hard-working American families and American seniors,” Trump said in a video, which appeared to be a warning to fellow party members. “The seniors are being absolutely destroyed in the last two years.”

Amid the debt ceiling battle, the former president said: “Cut waste, fraud and abuse everywhere that we can find it and there is plenty there’s plenty of it. But do not cut the benefits our seniors worked for and paid for their entire lives. Save Social Security, don’t destroy it.”

IRS Reminds Wage Earners to Adjust 2023 Withholding Now or Face a Surprise Later

The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) has issued an alert to taxpayers, encouraging them to adjust their 2023 withholding so as to either avoid effectively giving the government an interest-free loan of their money or face the prospect of penalties and interest if too little tax is withheld.

In a news release on Jan. 19, the IRS announced that it has made available an online tool that wage-earning taxpayers can use to determine if they have too much or too little tax withheld from their paychecks.

Called the Tax Withholding Estimator, it lets taxpayers figure out if they will receive a refund or need to make a payment to the IRS in order to avoid owing taxes and potentially incurring penalties the following year.

Having too much tax withheld and waiting for a refund at tax time is akin to giving the government an interest-free loan.

But if a taxpayer does not have enough taxes withheld from their paychecks throughout the year, they may owe a balance when they file their taxes. This means they will have to pay the remaining balance of taxes owed to the IRS when they file their tax return.

Owing a balance at tax time can be a significant financial burden, especially if the balance is large or if the taxpayer is struggling to make ends meet.

There are also penalties and interest that may apply when the taxpayer owes a balance when filing their taxes. The IRS charges interest on any unpaid taxes starting from the original due date of the return. Penalties may also be assessed if the taxpayer fails to file their return on time or if they owe taxes and fail to pay them by the deadline.

Owing a balance can also have negative effects on credit score as it is considered a debt that is unpaid. This can also lead to wage garnishments, liens on property, and even imprisonment if the taxpayer fails to pay their taxes.

Tens of Thousands Rally Against Abortion in First March for Life Since Roe v. Wade Overturned

Tens of thousands of people gathered in Washington on Jan. 20 to demonstrate their opposition to abortion in the first March for Life annual event since the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade and delivered a long-sought victory to the pro-life movement.

Participants spread across a section of the National Mall to hear speeches and later took part in a march, holding signs with phrases such as “It’s a Child, Not a Choice,” “I Demand Protection at Conception,” and “I Am The Post-Roe Generation.”

The mention of being part of the “post-Roe generation” refers to the fact that, on June 24, 2022, the Supreme Court ruled 5–4 in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, ruling that there’s no constitutional right to abortion and thus returning the regulation of abortion to the states. That decision effectively overturned the high court’s landmark decision on Jan. 22, 1973, in Roe v. Wade, which legalized abortion nationwide.

Vermont Supreme Court OKs Noncitizen Voting in Municipal Elections

The Vermont Supreme Court ruled on Jan. 20 that the city of Montpelier didn’t violate the state constitution by allowing foreign nationals to vote in municipal elections.

The lawsuit stemmed from a 2018 amendment to Montpelier’s charter that permits “noncitizen voters” to “register to vote in Montpelier City elections.” The amendment was placed on that year’s general election ballot and approved by voters.

Vermont Gov. Phil Scott, a Republican, vetoed the General Assembly’s authorization of the changes in June 2021, only to have his veto overridden.

Since its adoption in 1777, Chapter II, Section 42 of the Vermont Constitution has been listing U.S. citizenship as a requirement one must meet to be entitled to “the privileges of a voter in this state.” However, the Jan. 20 decision (pdf) states that legal precedent and a close reading of the provision proved that local elections can have different voter qualifications from statewide elections.

“The text of Section 42 reviewed through a historical lens and our precedents support the conclusion that Section 42 does not apply to municipal elections,” wrote a panel of five judges, including Chief Justice Paul Reiber.

Rep. Boebert Introduces Bill to Defund Planned Parenthood

Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.) has proposed a new draft bill that aims to defund Planned Parenthood by placing a one-year moratorium on federal funding to the organization, in line with the longstanding goal of many Republicans who oppose the organization’s provision of abortions.

The bill is Boebert’s first in the 118th Congress, which Republicans took control of in the midterm elections and are now pressing ahead with their “Commitment to America” agenda.

“The nation’s largest abortion provider has no business receiving taxpayer dollars,” Boebert said in a Jan. 20 press release. “Planned Parenthood claims these funds go to healthcare for women, but last year, Planned Parenthood performed a record number of abortions while also reducing the number of well-woman exams and breast cancer screenings it performed.”

The bill, named “Defund Planned Parenthood Act of 2023” (pdf), aims to prohibit federal funds from being made available to the organization, or any of its affiliates or clinics, unless they certify that they will not perform abortions. Exceptions are made for abortions in cases of rape, incest, or when the woman’s life is in danger.

Manchin Won’t Rule Out Presidential Run with a Different Party – ‘Everything Is on the Table’

Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV) would not deny possibly running for president in 2024 as a Democrat or a member of another party Sunday on NBC’s “Meet the Press.”

Host Chuck Todd asked, “If you run for office in 2024, are you going to run as a Democrat?”

Manchin replied, “Chuck, I haven’t made a decision what I’m going to do in 2024. I got two years ahead of me now to do the best I can for my state and the country.”

Todd said, “What’s on the table? It’s reelection on the table?”

Experts Weigh In on FBI Search of Biden Home: ‘Probable Cause of Crimes’

Experts and former officials weighed in on the FBI’s search targeting President Joe Biden’s home, saying that the president may have consented to the search because of the threat of a search warrant.

“DOJ took possession of materials it deemed within the scope of its inquiry, including six items consisting of documents with classification markings and surrounding materials, some of which were from the President’s service in the Senate and some of which were from his tenure as Vice President,” Bob Bauer, Biden’s personal lawyer, said in a statement on Saturday, confirming the search. “DOJ also took for further review personally handwritten notes from the vice-presidential years.”

And Assistant U.S. Attorney Joseph Fitzpatrick confirmed to news outlets that the “FBI executed a planned, consensual search of the President’s residence in Wilmington, Delaware.”

Former Chief Assistant U.S. Attorney Andy McCarthy, however, wrote Saturday that Biden had no choice on whether to allow the FBI to search his home.

“Biden didn’t consent to FBI search [because] he’s Mr Cooperation. He consented [because] there was probable cause of crimes,” McCarthy wrote on Twitter. “If he didn’t agree, next step would’ve been special counsel getting a search warrant (ie, judicial finding of probable cause). Wanted to avoid that.”

On Saturday, Bauer issued another statement and said Biden and the White House were cooperating fully with the Justice Department investigation. Previously, classified documents were discovered at Biden’s residence and office, leading Attorney General Merrick Garland to announce a special counsel investigation earlier this month.

“At the outset of this matter, the President directed his personal attorneys to fully cooperate with the Department of Justice,” Bauer told news outlets. “Accordingly, having previously identified and reported to DOJ a small number of documents with classification markings at the President’s Wilmington home.

“In the interest of moving the process forward as expeditiously as possible, we offered to provide prompt access to his home to allow DOJ to conduct a search of the entire premises for potential vice-presidential records and potential classified material,” he added.

A former prosecutor told ABC News last week that Biden’s situation differs from former President Donald Trump because Biden’s “self-reporting” of the classified documents. In Trump’s case, the former president, however, has said he declassified the alleged classified documents that were found at his home during the unprecedented FBI raid in August.

Official data suggests that Biden’s deputies are flooding the labor market with one foreign worker for every young American who joins the economy.

Netflix Says Password Sharing ‘Undermines’ Business, Warns Crackdown Will Expand

Netflix issued a notice saying it will expand its crackdown on Netflix accounts that are sharing passwords between several households as it rolls out paid sharing “more broadly”  during the first quarter of 2023.

In a letter (pdf) dated Thursday, the Los Gatos, California-based streaming service said that widespread account sharing is undermining its business and ability to invest in the company. Now, Netflix will intensify its bid to combat password-sharing.

“Today’s widespread account sharing (100M+ households) undermines our long term ability to invest in and improve Netflix, as well as build our business,” the letter to shareholders reads. “While our terms of use limit use of Netflix to a household, we recognize this is a change for members who share their account more broadly.”

The company said that it has opted to “build additional new features that improve the Netflix experience, including the ability for members to review which devices are using their account and to transfer a profile to a new account.” And, it added, “members in many countries will also have the option to pay extra if they want to share Netflix with people they don’t live with” in the future.

Google Parent Alphabet to Cut 12,000 Jobs Amid Wave of Tech Layoffs

Google parent Alphabet Inc.’s CEO sent a note to employees Friday announcing the elimination of 12,000 jobs, as a response to economic changes over the past two years.

The move—coming two days after a similar number of job cuts from Microsoft—will affect both U.S. and overseas employees.

“Over the past two years we’ve seen periods of dramatic growth. To match and fuel that growth, we hired for a different economic reality than the one we face today,” Alphabet and Google CEO Sundar Pichai wrote.

Amazon Retires Amazon Smile, Won’t Say If Replacement Programs Will Continue to Systematically Exclude Conservatives

Amazon will retire its charity platform, Amazon Smile, and the Big Tech company aims to replace some of that effort with other charitable programs, but it declined to comment on whether it will continue to systematically exclude conservative and Christian groups from its charitable efforts.

The company announced Wednesday that it will “wind down” Amazon Smile by Feb. 20, 2023, after a round of layoffs. The company determined that the platform, launched in 2013, “has not grown to create the impact we had originally hoped. With so many eligible organizations—more than 1 million globally—our ability to have an impact was often spread too thin.”

Amazon had previously faced criticism for relying on the left-wing Southern Poverty Law Center’s discredited “hate group” accusations to exclude certain conservative and Christian nonprofits from receiving funds on Amazon Smile. When Rep. Matt Gaetz, R-Fla., asked then-Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos why Amazon relies on the SPLC, Bezos acknowledged “this is an imperfect system,” but neither Bezos nor current CEO Andy Jassy addressed the issue again.

Abbott Labs Being Investigated Over Baby Formula, Company Says

Abbott Laboratories is being investigated by U.S. authorities for possible criminal conduct that led to last year’s shutdown of an infant formula plant in Sturgis, Michigan, due to product contamination, according to the company.

The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) is probing the matter, a spokesperson told news outlets.

“DOJ has informed us of its investigation and we’re cooperating fully,” the Abbott spokesperson said.

Abbott didn’t respond to a request for more information. DOJ officials didn’t return an inquiry.

Abbott, one of the largest U.S. formula manufacturers in the country, issued a voluntary recall in February 2022 after the U.S. Food and Drug Administration warned Americans not to use some products made at one of the company’s plants in Sturgis. An investigation uncovered unsanitary conditions there following a whistleblower complaint.

Dr. Robert Califf, Food and Drug Administration commissioner, said during a congressional hearing that the investigation results “were shocking,” describing conditions he said were “egregiously unsanitary.”

Regulators discovered the presence of Cronobacter sakazakii, a bacteria that can contaminate dry products such as infant formula powder, at the facility. The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention opened a probe into multiple cases, including several deaths, potentially linked to the contamination. Authorities said they were unable to find a definitive connection between the illnesses and Abbott’s products. Abbott has said that none of the formula it distributed tested positive for Cronobacter.

The Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act of 1938 prohibits “adulterated food,” or food that “contains any poisonous or deleterious substance which may render it injurious to health,” with some exceptions. People or companies that enter adulterated food into “interstate commerce “can be prosecuted under the law.

Examples of interstate commerce include selling a product, shipping it to another state, or contracting with another company or person to ship the good to another state.

High Profile Sound Money Bills Introduced in Mississippi

Lawmakers in Jackson have just introduced legislation to exempt gold and silver coins, bars, and rounds from the Mississippi’s state sales tax. Rep. Jill Ford has reintroduced House Bill 508 at the beginning of the 2023 session.

This year’s legislative effort seeks to build on last year’s momentum.  Last year, Rep. Ford’s sales tax exemption bill passed out of the Mississippi House of Representatives overwhelmingly but it missed a deadline in the Senate needed to receive a hearing.

Two similar Mississippi bills have already been introduced this session (HB 23 & SB 2019).

Imposing taxes on the exchange of Federal Reserve notes for monetary metals (i.e. gold and silver) has become an unusual and outmoded practice in the United States… only 8 states still engage in it.

Most recently, Alabama, Tennessee, and Virginia last year passed legislation to exempt or extend current sales tax exemptions on the precious metals. With 42 states now having eliminated sales taxes on purchases of gold and silver, Mississippi may be the next state to do so.

Under the status quo in Mississippi, citizens are discouraged from protecting their savings against the devaluation of the dollar because they are penalized with sales taxation for doing so. No state bordering Mississippi has the same policy.

Passage of HB 508 would remove disincentives to holding gold and silver — a move that has become especially pertinent at a time when inflation is ripping through the economy and wrecking havoc on family budgets.

SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY

Big Data, Transhumanism and Why the Singularity May Be Faked

Silicon Valley is essentially fused with the national security state. Silicon Valley is now also entering into joint ventures with medical companies, and many of these ventures are financed by groups like In-Q-Tel, which is the CIA’s venture capital arm

There’s a concerted effort to frame transhumanism — which is really the new eugenics — as health care. Joint ventures involving Big Tech, Big Pharma and the security state typically focus on products and services that normalize and further the transhumanist agenda

Food and agriculture are also being tossed into the mix. The U.S. government has launched a “Food is Medicine” program, which is yet another way for the government to seize control of the population. Food as medicine will be used to get you into their control system, and keep you there

In 2023 and 2024, watch for the rollout of central bank digital currencies (CBDCs). It’s crucial that as many people as possible refuse the system during the initial voluntary phase. Once it becomes mandatory, it cannot be stopped and all freedoms will be lost

If the singularity cannot be achieved, technocrats may end up faking it, because if they can blame eugenics, depopulation and other unethical decisions on artificial intelligence running the government, they can do whatever they want, with no repercussions

Maine Joins 28 US States Banning TikTok From Government Devices

Maine has become the latest state to ban TikTok from state-owned devices that connect to the government network.

The video-sharing app is owned and operated by ByteDance, which is a Chinese company that moved its headquarters to Singapore in 2020.

More than 28 U.S. states and the federal government have banned the popular app from state-owned devices. The U.S. armed forces have also have prohibited it on military devices.

Maine Information Technology notified executive branch workers on Thursday that TikTok poses a serious threat to the state’s network infrastructure.

Maine IT says the directive (pdf) is in response to “well-documented national security risks posed by TikTok” and “recently enacted federal legislation that prohibits the use of the application on all federal government devices.”

The directive requires TikTok to be removed from all state-owned and personal devices that connect to the government’s network by Feb. 1.

“If previously installed, any covered technology must be immediately uninstalled to circumvent any exposure of sensitive information,” the directive states. “Failure to meet the requirements of this directive may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination.”

The new requirement does not affect personal devices that don’t connect to the state government’s network.

Fatigue? Feeling cold? Dry flaky skin? 5 signs you have thyroid problems

Thyroid problems can lead to fatigue, feeling cold and flaky skin. Dr. Naomi Newman-Beinart reveals the signs of iodine deficiency, plus what can help

Iodine is an essential mineral that your body can’t make by itself, so we must depend on food or supplements to get what the levels we need.

Iodine plays an important role in producing thyroid hormones, which are essential for vital bodily processes such as metabolism.

This is why low thyroid hormone levels often lead to thyroid problems such as low energy, constipation, and weight gain, to name a few.

World Health Organisation now classifies the UK as seventh out of the ten most iodine-deficient nations in the world

Sign #1 Dry, flaky skin

Did you know that thyroid hormones can actually help your skin cells to regenerate?

When people have an iodine deficiency, they often find that their skin is dry and flaky, and researchers believe that this may be due to low thyroid hormone levels.

Sign #2 Feeling cold all the time

Feeling cold is a common symptom of iodine deficiency. Iodine is required for the production of thyroxine, a thyroid hormone that helps to regulate your body temperature.

If you don’t have enough thyroxine, you are more likely to feel cold even when you are doing all the right things to try and stay warm.

Sign #3 Swelling at the front of your neck

When you are deficient in iodine then your body can’t make enough thyroid hormones.

When this happens, your thyroid starts to work overtime to make these vital hormones and this can result in overgrowth of the thyroid gland, which is at the front of your neck. This is called goiter.

Luckily, if caught soon enough this can be reversed by improving iodine intake.

Sign #4 Weight gain

Over the years, I have come across many women who struggle with unexpected weight gain and weight that is really hard to shift, even when they are doing all of the right things.

The reason iodine may be the culprit here is because thyroid hormones help to control your metabolism, helping convert what you eat into energy and heat.

When you have low thyroid hormone levels, you burn less calories from your food, so more of those calories are stored as fat.

Sign #5 Memory troubles

Did you know that being iodine deficient can affect your IQ? Scientists collated over 20 studies looking at the relationship between iodine status and IQ, and all of the studies found that iodine deficiency was associated with lower IQ.

Research has also found that people with lower thyroid hormone levels performed less well on memory tasks than people with higher levels – fascinating stuff and an excellent reason to start thinking about adding seaweed to your daily diet.

If You Don’t Know CPR, You Will After Watching This

By increasing blood flow to the organs, CPR provides a life-saving, temporary treatment for cardiac arrest

If someone near you experiences cardiac arrest, you should first call 911, then immediately begin CPR

For the general public, hands-only CPR, or compression-only CPR, is recommended and highly effective

Perform chest compressions at a rate of 100 to 120 per minute; this is about the same beat as the song “Stayin’ Alive”

If you have access to an automated external defibrillator (AED), which are required in many public spaces, follow its simple instructions to deliver a shock to the heart

How Aluminum Damages Your Brain

Research has found a strong link between aluminum exposure and Alzheimer’s disease. Patients with a genetic mutation that predisposes them to early onset of Alzheimer’s and more aggressive disease have universally high aluminum content in their brains

According to a British researcher, without aluminum in the brain, Alzheimer’s does not develop

When aluminum was first approved for use in vaccines, it was approved based on its efficacy. It was never actually tested for safety. It was simply assumed to be safe

Aluminum has been shown to cause mitochondrial dysfunction and depletion of adenine-triphosphate (ATP), which sets the stage for virtually any chronic disease. Aluminum salts can increase levels of glial activation, inflammatory cytokines and amyloid precursor protein within the brain

Recent research found the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s vaccine schedule — when adjusted for bodyweight — exposes children to a level of aluminum that is 15.9 times higher than the recommended “safe” level

How to Stay Fit for Life

It is rarely too late to start resistance training; you can build muscle mass well after age 60. In 2022, I set a new personal record in the leg press for 600 pounds, far better than the 400-pound deadlift I did the year before

Sarcopenia — age-related muscle loss — threatens a healthy lifespan. Skeletal muscle not only manages physical activity, but also plays a major role in metabolism, circulation and cognition

Skeletal muscle acts as endocrine organ secreting myokines and transcription factors into the bloodstream, thereby regulating the function of other organs. It also has immune regulatory properties

The loss of muscle mass is thought to be a primary driver of insulin resistance in older adults. Declining muscle strength and reduced physical activity also contribute to metabolic dysfunction

In order to gain muscle mass though one needs a critical to eat enough protein. A minimum is about 1.2 grams per kilogram of body weight (0.54 grams/pound) per day. Athletes and the elderly could probably benefit from going up from that level to about 1.6 grams/kilogram (0.71 grams/pound)

Record High: Increasing Number of Americans Putting Off Medical Care over Rising Costs

The figure has fluctuated since Gallup began tracking it in 2001. That year, 19 percent said they had put off medical treatment due to the cost of treatment. That figure rose to 33 percent in 2014 and 2019, but the current level of 38 percent is the highest percentage ever recorded in the survey.

An increasing number of Americans are putting off medical care over rising costs, a Gallup survey released this week found.

Over the last year, well over one-third of Americans, 38 percent, said they or a family member have put off a medical treatment due to the out-of-pocket expense. That represents a 12 percent increase from the 26 percent who said the same in 2021.

Climate Activists Alarmed That Twitter Under Musk Allows More Dissenting Views on Global Warming

An organization that says it is a coalition of “climate and anti-disinformation organisations” says Twitter under CEO Elon Musk is allowing more dissenting views on climate change.

Climate Action Against Disinformation (CAAD), released a Jan. 19 study (pdf), accusing Musk of allowing misinformation about the climate crisis to spread on the social media platform.

The study accused Twitter of boosting the hashtag “#ClimateScam” to users when searching the word “climate,” as its top search result.

The hashtag has suddenly spiked on Twitter search results since July 2022, with its appearance increasing ever since, according to CAAD.

The report said that “in 2022, denialist content made a stark comeback on Twitter in particular.”

$190 Billion in COVID Relief Funds to School Districts Both Bonanza and Burden

News Analysis

The federal government poured $190 billion into state coffers in 2020 and 2021 to help schools deal with the effects of COVID-19 on the nation’s education system.

While some school districts quickly spent the funds on things such as tutoring, teacher salaries, school bus Wi-Fi, and new HVAC systems, other districts have struggled to determine the best use for the money to meet federal program deadlines.

As the first of three spending deadlines approaches, a report examines the way the nation’s largest school districts have used the money so far and how much remains unspent.

Utah Plastic Surgeon Allegedly Destroyed COVID Vaccines, Gave Fake Shots to Children

A Utah plastic surgeon, along with three others, is facing charges for allegedly administering fake COVID-19 vaccines to children, destroying vaccines, and distributing falsified vaccine cards.

Dr. Michael Kirk Moore, the owner of the Plastic Surgery Institute of Utah in Midvale, has been charged with conspiracy to defraud the United States and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), according to court documents (pdf).

Moore’s office manager Kari Burgoyne, receptionist Sandra Flores, neighbor Kristin Andersen, and the Plastic Surgery Institute are also charged in the case.

The defendants are accused of running a vaccine scheme out of the physician’s business.

Moore and Andersen were allegedly members of a “private organization seeking to ‘liberate’ the medical profession from government and industry conflicts of interest,” the documents state.

In May 2021, Moore signed an agreement with the CDC to administer COVID-19 vaccines and vaccination cards. Court documents claim that Moore and Burgoyne then ordered “hundreds of doses of COVID-19 vaccines,” which they began receiving at the plastic surgery center in October 2021.

EXCLUSIVE: DeSantis Plans to Let Controversial COVID-19 Hospital Immunity Expire

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis plans to let a controversial law giving hospitals immunity related to COVID-19 expire in June, a high-ranking administration official with direct knowledge of the plan told The Epoch Times on the condition of anonymity.

A spokesperson for DeSantis declined to comment on the information.

Hearing that their governor won’t seek to extend the law thrilled some medical freedom activists in the state. Others expressed frustration that the law would stay in place for five more months. Now, some told The Epoch Times, they hope the Republican-led Legislature will stand down, as well.

They law, they say, has led to countless unnecessary deaths by giving hospitals immunity from malpractice cases in their treatment of COVID-19.

“We’ve been working on [getting rid of] that for two years,” said Gainesville, Florida, attorney Jeff Childers.

Vaccine-Injured Need Support as Number of Suicides Climb: Brianne Dressen

People injured by COVID-19 vaccines are in great need of support from family and friends, the head of a nonprofit that aims to provide that support says.

“I don’t think people realize that, if you’re not supporting someone that you know that’s injured, most likely nobody else is either,” Brianne Dressen, head of React19, told EpochTV’s “American Thought Leaders.”

People who experienced adverse events after vaccination have largely found that medical professionals—especially early in the mass vaccination campaign—refuse to acknowledge the vaccines cause problems, compounding their difficulties. U.S. authorities have also consistently downplayed side effects, and have only worked behind the scenes to try to guide medical care for the vaccine-injured rather than roll out public guidance for healthcare workers to follow.

Is Homeschool the Key to Preventing the Indoctrination of Our Children?

Drag shows in schools, vaccine and mask mandates, and lack of real education for children are all reasons, among many more, that we are seeing families choosing to homeschool. Parents are tired of their children being fed woke propaganda. Schools have no right to teach children anything other than core subjects (reading, math, science, history) and critical thinking skills, fundamentals of a traditional educational curriculum. I believe that homeschool is a major key in preventing children from being brainwashed into specific ideologies, especially political and religious (or anti-religious) ideologies.

‘No Outfit Makes Me a Cat’: Mom in Cat Get-Up Protests Drag-Wearing School Board Member, Threatens to Sue

Last December, Arizona mom Lindsey Graham went viral for crashing a school board meeting dressed in a cat costume—complete with ears, whiskers, and tail.

Donning leopard spots, Graham approached the mic and expressed outrage over a male school board member’s being allowed to dress as a woman while still keeping his position.

She accused board members of failing their “one job” by “forcing [children] to participate in their lie” in denial of not just truth, but basic biology.

“No tail, whiskers, or outfit makes me a cat,” she said, nor does any “lipstick, high heels, or long hair” make the man in question, Paul Bixler, 72, a woman.

The board in question is Liberty Elementary District, located in Buckeye. The Epoch Times reached out to the school district for comment yet they did not respond in time for publishing.
