Iranian Warships Docking in Latin America Reflects New Axis of Power, Analysts Say

Iran appears to be making good on its claim to put warships in the Panama Canal before the end of 2023, but analysts say that’s just the beginning.

Last week, Brazil permitted two Iranian warships to moor off Rio de Janeiro’s famous beaches. The event occurred between Feb. 26 and March 4, causing a stir among democratic nations throughout the region.

Political and security insiders say the arrival of the warships is a consequence of a new wave of leftist leaders who’ve swept across Latin America in recent years, including Brazil’s new president.

And Iran is capitalizing on its strong ties to socialist regimes in the region.

Prince Michael On Europe’s Regulatory-Technocratic Suicide

The author concludes, “It was always doubtful that technocrats could develop solutions better than the market does.” Technocratic micro-management always results in gridlock that cannot be rationalized away. Technocrats simply move on to another project to “solve” and micromanage some more. Technocrats are typically too deep in the forest to see the trees.

It is important to remember that European members of the Trilateral Commission, according to co-founder David Rockefeller, were largely responsible for creating the EU in the first place. The Trilateral goal was to create a “New International Economic Order”, which was no more than warmed-over Technocracy from the 1930s. Today the NIEO is known as Sustainable Development, 2030 Agenda, Green Economy, Stakeholder Capitalism, etc. Today, Europe is run by unelected and unaccountable Technocrats.

Defendant Moves to Dismiss Jan. 6 Case Based on Newly Disclosed Footage, FBI Testimony

A defendant in the Proud Boys trial over Jan. 6, 2021, charges moved on March 9 to dismiss the case, after some footage from the day of the breach was shown for the first time.

Dominic Pezzola is one of the Proud Boys members on trial for obstruction of an official proceeding and other charges. The newly disclosed footage, shown on Fox News this week, “is plainly exculpatory,” Pezzola’s lawyers said in the new motion.

“It establishes that the Senate chamber was never violently breached, and—in fact—was treated respectfully by January 6 protestors,” the motion reads.

‘Disturbing’: FBI’s Alleged Altering of Evidence in Jan. 6 Proud Boys Case, Trial Paused: Defense Lawyer

The trial of Dominic Pezzola, one of the defendants of the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol breach, was paused on Thursday due to classified FBI messages revealed in court, which the defense attorneys say show FBI agents discussing the altering of evidence.

Pezzola is one of the Proud Boys members on trial for obstruction and conspiracy charges related to the Jan. 6 Capitol breach. He was arrested on Jan. 15, 2021, and indicted the same month. Pezzola’s trial began in January of this year.

“There are a couple of emails between FBI agents casually discussing altering a document and destroying hundreds of pieces of evidence. It’s very disturbing and right now we have more questions than answers,” Roots wrote. Roots confirmed that Washington District Court Judge Timothy J. Kelly, a Trump appointee, paused the trial on Thursday due to the leaked messages.

Taliban Seized Billions in US Military Equipment After Afghanistan Collapsed: New IG Report

Throughout the 20-year U.S. military mission in Afghanistan, the United States provided nearly $90 billion to the Afghan National Defense and Security Forces (ANDSF), including $18.6 billion to arm and equip the western-backed Afghan government. A new report by the special inspector general for Afghanistan reconstruction (SIGAR) found that a significant amount of that equipment was left behind for the Taliban when the Afghan government collapsed.

The SIGAR report, released on Feb. 28, provided an updated assessment of the factors contributing to the collapse of the U.S.-backed Afghan government and the hasty effort to evacuate thousands of U.S. troops, civilians, and military equipment as the Taliban took control of the country.

The new SIGAR report marks a slight upward revision in the total value of military equipment left behind in Afghanistan. In August 2022, a Department of Defense inspector general report estimated that $7.12 billion in military equipment was left behind for the Taliban.

U.S. High School Defends Taking Money from Chinese Military-Linked Groups, Building Chinese STEM Program

Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) is defending the nation’s top-ranked public high school for taking hundreds of thousands of dollars from a Chinese military-linked organization to build a STEM program in China.

As Breitbart News reported, Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology (TJ), since 2014, has received over $250,000 from Tsinghua University High School (TUHS) in Beijing — a school closely tied to Tsinghua University, which the Pentagon considers to be a Chinese military university.

U.S. Foreclosure Activity Declines Monthly In February 2023 But Continues To Increase Annually

ATTOM, a leading curator of land, property, and real estate data, today released its February 2023 U.S. Foreclosure Market Report, which shows there were a total of 30,528 U.S. properties with foreclosure filings — default notices, scheduled auctions or bank repossessions — down 3 percent from a month ago and up 18 percent from a year ago.

“Foreclosure activity finally started to stabilize in February after 21 straight months of increases,” said Rob Barber, chief executive officer at ATTOM. “The numbers don’t yet show a clear trend toward fewer foreclosures, partly because February is a short month. But with historically high levels of home equity flowing from a decade of rising values, we may be seeing a growing number of delinquent mortgage payers with at least the option to sell before facing foreclosure.”

‘A Lot More Transparency Is Coming’ on Jan. 6: House GOP

More details about what occurred on the day of Jan. 6, 2021, will be revealed in the days to come, according to House Majority Leader Steve Scalise (R-La.).

“In the end, transparency is the best disinfectant,” Scalise said at a March 8 press conference in Washington while discussing new security footage of the Capitol breach that aired on Fox News’ “Tucker Carlson Tonight” on March 6–7.

When asked by one reporter whether he agreed with Carlson’s depiction of the breach as “peaceful,” the congressman noted that the Fox News host had also criticized the protesters who had engaged in criminal activity.

As for the complaints of some that the security footage Carlson used was selectively edited, Scalise asserted that the previously available footage had been released by the House’s “partisan” Jan. 6 Committee, and that those videos had been “cherry-picked” to present one side of the story.

And while some have criticized House Speaker Kevin McCarthy’s (R-Calif.) decision to grant Carlson exclusive access to the security tapes, Scalise stressed that the speaker has said he will soon make the footage publicly available.

“No matter whether the tapes are released or not, it seems like some in the press want to talk about Jan. 6 every day,” the majority leader noted. “So do a lot of Democrats. They only want to talk about certain parts of it, though. So, at the end of the day, have the transparency to get all the facts out. Let the public see not just what was a one-sided sham committee that was only focused on getting one side of the story out.”

Mitch McConnell Suffered Concussion, Will Be Hospitalized for Several Days

Vitamin D Could Help Extend Your Life

What are your vitamin D levels? If you’re not sure, getting tested — and then optimizing your levels — could help you live longer. While low vitamin D levels have long been associated with increased risk of death, data on severely deficient individuals are lacking.

Now, it’s been shown that people genetically predisposed to vitamin D deficiency were 25% more likely to die from any cause compared to those with different genetics conducive to healthy vitamin D levels.

The data came from researchers with the Australian Center for Precision Health at the University of South Australia, who also revealed that vitamin D deficiency driven by genetics increases the risk of chronic diseases like heart disease, respiratory diseases and cancer.

Federal Court Reinstates Law Allowing Florida to Defund Planned Parenthood

Florida will be allowed to defund Planned Parenthood on June 1, after a federal judge ended a permanent injunction on Tuesday blocking part of a 2016 law.

U.S. District Judge Robert Hinkle, of the United States District Court Northern District of Florida, reversed the permanent injunction on part of House Bill 1411, which prohibits state and local dollars from going to institutions that provide abortions. Hinkle stated in his order that the “essential basis of the ruling [in 2016] was the right to an abortion under Roe v. Wade.” But with Roe overturned in the Supreme Court’s Dobbs decision last summer, the previous order no longer had legal standing.

Can This Mushroom Help Build New Brain Cells?

The Lion’s mane mushroom (Hericium erinaceus) has a long history in traditional medicine and research shows that an extract of bioactive compounds promotes neuron projections and connections to other neurons

The data also showed supplementation in an animal model enhanced recognition memory in mice, which retained similar influence even when the concentration was reduced by a factor of 50

Lion’s mane mushrooms are associated with other health benefits, including regulating blood pressure and blood sugar, treating depression and promoting recovery after brain injury

Mushrooms have varying levels of antioxidants, and they have antioxidants that other fungi do not, such as ergothioneine and glutathione, which together help promote longevity and contribute to a healthy soil environment

I highly recommend including mushrooms in your nutritional plan, but caution that they should be organically grown as they easily absorb air and soil contaminants. Growing your own is an excellent option and a far safer alternative than foraging for wild mushrooms

Ibuprofen Kills Thousands Each Year, so What Is the Alternative?

Back in 2013, one Reuters’ article opened with the following stunning sentence:

“Long-term high-dose use of painkillers such as ibuprofen or diclofenac is ‘equally hazardous’ in terms of heart attack risk as use of the drug Vioxx, which was withdrawn due to its potential dangers, researchers said.”

The 2004 Vioxx recall, as you may remember, was spurred by the nearly 30,000 excess cases of heart attacks and sudden cardiac deaths caused by the drug between 1999-2003. Despite the fact that scientific research had accumulated as early as 2000 linking Vioxx to increased heart attacks and strokes, the drug’s manufacturer Merck, and the FDA, remained silent as the death toll steadily increased.

The Reuters report focused on research published in Lancet indicating the risk of heart attack increases as much as a third and the risk of heart failure doubles among heavier users of NSAID drugs.

Pain and unhealthy levels of inflammation are fast becoming default bodily states in the industrialized world. While in most cases we can adjust the underlying pro-inflammatory conditions by altering our diet, and reducing stress and environmental chemical exposures, these approaches take time, discipline and energy, and sometimes we just want the pain to stop now. In those often compulsive moments we find ourselves popping an over-the-counter pill to kill the pain.

The problem with this approach is that, if we do it often enough, we may kill ourselves along with the pain…

Research on Natural Alternatives To Ibuprofen

Here is some evidence-based research on alternatives to ibuprofen, sourced from the National Library of Medicine:

  1. Ginger – A 2009 study found that ginger capsules (250 mg, four times daily) were as effective as the drugs mefenamic acid and ibuprofen for relieving pain in women associated with their menstrual cycle (primary dysmenorrhea).
  2. Topical Arnica – A 2007 human study found that topical treatment with arnica was as effective as ibuprofen for hand osteoarthritis, but with lower incidence of side effects.
  3. Combination: Astaxanthin, Ginkgo biloba and Vitamin C – A 2011 animal study found this combination to be equal to or better than ibuprofen for reducing asthma-associated respiratory inflammation.
  4. Chinese Skullcap (baicalin) – A 2003 animal study found that a compound in Chinese skullcap known as baicalin was equipotent to ibuprofen in reducing pain.
  5. Omega-3 fatty acids: A 2006 human study found that omega-3 fatty acids (between 1200-2400 mg daily) were as effective as ibuprofen in reducing arthritis pain, but with the added benefit of having less side effects.
  6. Panax Ginseng – A 2008 animal study found that panax ginseng had analgesic and anti-inflammatory activity similar to ibuprofen, indicating its possible anti-rheumatoid arthritis properties.
  7. St. John’s Wort – A 2004 animal study found that St. John’s wort was twice as effective as ibuprofen as a pain-killer.
  8. Anthrocyanins from Sweet Cherries & Raspberries – A 2001 study cell study found that anthrocyanins extracted from raspberries and sweet cherries were as effective as ibuprofen and naproxen at suppressing the inflammation-associated enzyme known as cyclooxygenase-1 and 2.
  9. Holy Basil – A 2000 study found that holy basil contains compounds with anti-inflammatory activity comparable to ibuprofen, naproxen and aspirin.
  10. Olive Oil (oleocanthal) – a compound found within olive oil known as oleocanthal has been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties similar to ibuprofen.

Housing Markets In California, Illinois, And East Coast Still Top List Of Areas Around U.S. More Vulnerable To Declines

ATTOM, a leading curator of land, property, and real estate data, today released a Special Housing Risk Report spotlighting county-level housing markets around the United States that are more or less vulnerable to declines, based on home affordability, foreclosures and other measures in the fourth quarter of 2022. The report shows that inland California, Illinois, New Jersey, and Delaware continued to have some of the highest concentrations of the most-at-risk markets in the country, with the biggest clusters in the New York City and Chicago metropolitan areas. Southern and midwestern states remained less exposed.

The fourth-quarter patterns – based on gaps in home affordability, underwater mortgages, foreclosures, and unemployment – revealed that New Jersey, Illinois, and California had 31 of the 50 counties most vulnerable to potential declines around the U.S. That was roughly the same as the 28 more-at-risk markets that were in those states in the third quarter of last year. During a time when the broader U.S. housing market boom stalled, those concentrations dwarfed other parts of the country.
