Davos elites warn nations not to resist ‘painful global transition’

choing President Biden’s comments, two European leaders at the World Economic Forum meeting in Davos, Switzerland, described the record gas prices as part of a “painful” period of “transition” to alternative energy that should not be resisted.

German vice-chancellor Robert Habeck, as Summit News reported, said Monday that governments should not seek to protect their citizens from the consequences.

And Norwegian finance CEO Kjerstin Braathen described the energy crisis as a “transition” full of hardship but insisted the “pain” is “worth it.”

Biden, meanwhile, said Monday that the pain at the pump was part of “an incredible transition” of the American economy away from oil and natural gas.

“[When] it comes to the gas prices, we’re going through an incredible transition that is taking place that, God willing, when it’s over, we’ll be stronger and the world will be stronger and less reliant on fossil fuels when this is over,” Biden told reporters after his meeting with Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida.

Biden insisted that, nevertheless, his administration’s actions have been able to keep the energy crisis “from getting worse — and it’s bad.”

Germany’s Habeck emphasized that the long-term issue of “climate change,” which was the focus of the Davos conference two years ago, must be a prime consideration. And he said the world must no longer be beholden to the “rule of the markets.”

“We have to state that we collaborate in one world and have some solidarity in the world, but, therefore, we have to change the rule of the markets as well,” he said.

WHO withdraws 12 Biden ‘sovereignty’ amendments amid fierce opposition

Amid charges of ceding U.S. sovereignty to the World Health Organization, 12 of the 13 amendments submitted by the Biden administration for a vote in the World Health Assembly this week in Geneva have been removed from consideration.

The amendments were publicized only last month, and it was the advocacy of independent researcher James Roguski that alerted the public to the implications for U.S. sovereignty, prompting a groundswell of popular opposition, largely in the past week.

Roguski, who has been monitoring the WHA proceedings, which began Sunday, said the withdrawal appears to be the result of “the massive response from people all over the world in opposition to the amendments to the International Health Regulations, along with legal actions in the U.K. (and a whole lot of prayer).”

Along with the fact that the amendments can be resubmitted in the future and WHO’s ultimate objective is for the leading nations to sign a global pandemic treaty, “now is not the time to relax,” Roguski wrote on his Substack page dedicated to the issue.

The news of the removal of a dozen amendments came through legal action filed in the United Kingdom by a physician, Zac Cox. After his May 17 request for judicial review was rejected, Cox filed an appeal last Friday.

The U.K. Government Legal Department of the Secretary of State for Health and Social care replied to Cox that the appeal was without merit because 12 of the 13 proposed amendments had been removed from consideration. That was due, the government said, to the fact that the WHO’s Working Group for Pandemic Response was “unable to reach a consensus.”

The working group had the task of shepherding the amendments through a process in preparation for them to be presented to the World Health Assembly.

The one remaining Biden amendment reduces the period of time in which a nation can withdraw its vote on an amendment to the International Health Regulations from 18 months to six months.

In an interview Tuesday with “War Room,” Roguski explained that opponents of the move to give the WHO more power shouldn’t rest, because the Working Group for Pandemic Response “will never give up.”

“They will keep trying to do this again in the future,” he said. “We’ve got to stay vigilant.”

19 Students, 2 Adults Dead, Dozens Injured in Texas Elementary School Shooting

An active shooter situation in Uvalde, Texas, on Tuesday, left 19 children and two adults dead. A hospital report also states that 14 children and at least one adult are being treated by hospitals in Uvalde and San Antonio. The shooter was killed by responding police, the governor added.

Border Patrol agents, BORTAC special response team, and Texas Highway Patrol troopers are on the scene to assist local first responders. The situation unfolded at approximately 11:50 local time when shots were initially heard in the vicinity of the elementary campus.

Baby formula: US military delivers 78,000 pounds from Europe

A military plane carrying enough specialty infant formula for more than half a million baby bottles arrived Sunday in Indianapolis, the first of several flights expected from Europe aimed at relieving a shortage that has sent parents scrambling to find enough to feed their children.

President Joe Biden authorized the use of Air Force planes for the effort, dubbed “Operation Fly Formula,” because no commercial flights were available.

Biden to sign police reform executive order 2 years after George Floyd’s death

President Biden is expected to sign an executive order to reform federal policing on Wednesday, two years after the death of George Floyd

The executive order will direct all federal agencies to revise their use-of-force policies and create a database of officers fired for misconduct, among other initiatives. The White House and the Justice Department have been working on the directive since last year, when a similar police reform effort failed in the Senate, The New York Times notes. Officials believe the order, which will be more limited in scope than the Senate’s would-be plan, will satisfy both activists and law enforcement, even if neither side is entirely pleased.

Sen. Cory Booker (D-N.J.), who helped lead efforts in the Senate, called the order “very strong,” per CBS News.

“I think the president’s team — using the powers that he has — have done an excellent job of advancing the call that I think all Americans feel to do everything you can to improve the policing profession, to empower our officers with both accountability and support,” Booker said.

Biden is supposed to sign the directive alongside police officials and relatives of Floyd’s, the Times notes. It will likely be one of his first official acts following his return from a trip to Asia.

Herschel Walker Clinches Georgia’s U.S. Senate Republican Primary

Trump-backed Georgia Republican Herschel Walker, a former NFL running back and Heisman Trophy winner, won his party primary for the U.S. Senate according to the Associated Press, which called the race at 7:56 p.m. E.T.

Walker, who led in every public poll against his closest challenger Agriculture Commissioner Gary Black, was expected to easily win his party’s primary, with little chance that he would not breeze past 50 percent Tuesday night.

The Republican Senate nominee, whom former President Donald Trump has endorsed since last year, has been a household name in the Peach State since his time playing football for the University of Georgia and winning the Heisman Trophy before going on to play in both the NFL and the Olympics.

As Breitbart News has reported that unlike Trump’s other endorsements in the state, Walker’s was “uncontroversial.” Trump was publicly encouraging Walker to run in the early months of 2021, which more than likely persuaded him to announce his candidacy last August.

In early May, Walker appeared to acknowledge a possible blowout in the primary and invited his GOP opponents, their staff, and supporters to a “unity celebration” in an “effort to bring everyone together” on election day.

Walker’s campaign said in a press release that running for office in his home state “has been the greatest honor of my life” and that he “knew it was going to require hard work, sacrifice, and perseverance,” which is why he wants to “make sure the Republican party of Georgia is as unified as possible.”

Despite Pushback From Parents, Publicly-Funded “Drag Queen Story Hour” Expands into NYC MIDDLE Schools – “Performers” Teach Children “How to Put on Drag Makeup”

If you think we are approaching a slippery slope, you hit your head on a rock while sliding down a long time ago.

Over the past two years, “drag queen story time” – a disturbing event in which adult men dress up in hyper-sexualized outfits with over-applied makeup and read books to young kids – has become a sweeping phenomenon across the West. The events have been popping up in Leftist areas all over the map, from Los Angeles, California to Austin, Texas, London, England, and everywhere in between.

Even though these “drag” events shouldn’t be held anywhere – and it shouldn’t need to be explained why (children have no place in anything related to “drag”) – the events have been mostly contained to local community centers or public buildings such as libraries. Unfortunately, the left’s push for the hyper-sexualization of children has only intensified over the past few months, which has enabled these sickening programs to begin invading the public school system – backed by public dollars no less.

And, thanks to radical local politicians, that’s exactly what’s happening in New York City middle schools.

According to the Post Millennial, the NY City Council has officially expanded and increased the funding for its “drag queen story hour” program, which will now be offered at public middle schools in addition to libraries and other outdoor areas like parks.

Despite pushback from local parents, creepy adult men dressed as the opposite sex will now be paid by the taxpayer to read stories about pronouns and non-binary toddlers in schools. The expanded project will be paid for out of the NYC council’s pool of discretionary spending money, and, as part of the event, the drag “performers” will assist and teach the young kids how to put on drag queen makeup.

As if the groomer problem wasn’t bad enough already…

The addition of middle schools to the program was announced earlier this week by “dragstoryhourNYC,” which oversees the drag performers in the city, on social media. The post was accompanied by a photo of the first event, which showed children gathered around an adult male drag performer as he read to them.

The post explained that the performer was discussing the woke children’s book ‘Melissa’, by Alex Gino – a book that is advertised as “the book formerly known as George” (tells you everything you need to know). Unsurprisingly, the book is about a boy who wants to be a girl.

I wonder how many parents got the memo before this event took place.

FBI Warrant Alleges ISIS Conspired To Assassinate George W. Bush By Smuggling Terrorists Through Biden’s Open Border

An Iraqi man and accused ISIS operative conspired to murder former President George W. Bush by smuggling a team of assassins across the porous southern border, according to a Federal Bureau of Investigations search warrant application.

The application, which was filed on March 23 and unsealed this week, claims the ISIS operative,  Shihab Ahmed Shihab Shihab, who resided in Columbus, Ohio, traveled to Dallas, Texas to conduct a stakeout outside of Bush’s house and the George W. Bush Institute where he filmed and photographed the surrounding locations in preparation for the assassination.

According to the warrant that was obtained by Forbes, 52-year-old Shihab came to the United States from Iraq in 2020 seeking asylum. The alleged ISIS operative wanted revenge against the former president for killing Iraqis and dividing the country following the 2003 invasion.

The document claims Shihab previously boasted about smuggling Hezbollah terrorists into the United States for $100,000.

The suspect’s assassination plot against Bush was heavily dependent on being able to effectively smuggle a team of terrorists across the open southern border again, the U.S. Justice Department detailed in a statement announcing his arrest.

“It is alleged that Shihab exchanged money with others in an attempt to illegally bring foreign nationals to the United States,” the department notes. “For example, in August 2021, Shihab allegedly intended to help who he thought was another Iraqi citizen enter the United States for a fee of $40,000. Shihab provided specific instructions on how he would smuggle the person into the United States after 60 days. In October and December 2021, Shihab accepted tens of thousands of dollars for the purported smuggling. In reality, the individual was fictitious, and the interaction was coordinated under the direction of the FBI.

“The charging document also alleges that Shihab planned to smuggle four additional Iraqi foreign nationals into the United States for the purpose of killing former President George W. Bush in retaliation of Iraqi deaths during ‘Operation Iraqi Freedom.’  Shihab then allegedly planned to smuggle the four out of the United States via the United States/Mexico border after they carried out the assassination.”

While tech companies assure users their personal exchanges are secured by encryption, federal agents uncovered Shihab’s assassination scheme by surveilling his correspondence on Facebook’s Meta and WhatsApp messaging platforms.

“The case shows how federal investigators continue to monitor threats from ISIS even as the group has been severely weakened by American intelligence and military operations in recent years. It also shows how the FBI, despite its claims of being prevented from investigating major crimes because of Meta and other tech providers’ use of encryption, has been able to work around WhatsApp security by using old-school policing with sourcing of informants and tracking the metadata they can get from the messaging company,” Forbes reports.

According to the DOJ, Shihab was apprehended by authorities on Tuesday morning and appeared in federal court at 2:30 pm.

Chief of Staff for the Office of George W. Bush issued a statement following Shihab’s arrest, noting, “President Bush has all the confidence in the world in the United States Secret Service and our law enforcement and intelligence communities.”

Meanwhile, the former Republican president has spent the past year lobbying Republicans to assist Joe Biden with passing an amnesty for migrants who illegally reside in the United States.

Glencore Pleads Guilty To Decade Of Bribery And Market Manipulation, Will Pay $1.5 BIllion Penalty

Swiss commodity trading giant Glencore agreed to plead guilty to multiple counts of bribery and market manipulation and pay penalties of up to $1.5BN to settle US, UK and Brazilian probes that have hung over the company for years.

The settlements will help remove question marks that have long overshadowed the trader’s (shady) business, profiled extensively in the gripping book The World For Sale. But the charges and admissions of guilt paint a damning, globe-spanning picture of how far the company, founded by U.S. fugitive Marc Rich, has been willing to go in pursuit of profit.

According to Bloomberg, Glencore units agreed to plead guilty to a list of charges that range from bribery and corruption in South America and Africa, to price manipulation in US fuel-oil markets.

The UK’s Serious Fraud Office on Tuesday charged the group’s subsidiary Glencore Energy UK with seven cases of profit-driven bribery and corruption in connection to oil operations in Cameroon, Equatorial Guinea, Ivory Coast, Nigeria and South Sudan. In a statement, the SFO said that its case was that “Glencore agents and employees paid bribes worth over $25mn for preferential access to oil, with approval by the company”.

In the US, Glencore pleaded guilty in two separate criminal cases and agreed to pay approximately $1.1bn in criminal fines and forfeiture. One case involved what prosecutors described as a decade-long bribery scheme; and in the second, Glencore’s US commodities trading arm pleaded guilty to engaging in an eight-year scheme to manipulate US fuel oil price benchmarks.

Glencore said it would pay about $1.5bn in overall penalties, including the $1.1bn to US authorities, $40mn to Brazilian prosecutors and an amount due to the UK to be finalised at a sentencing hearing. The company made a $1.5bn provision for the settlement in February, and said in an update on Tuesday that it does not expect the total fines to “differ materially” from what it has set aside.

Resveratrol’s Antiaging, Brain-Boosting Potential

A natural polyphenol, resveratrol has the potential to bring you longevity and protection against brain diseases. Why not try this age-defying compound?

Resveratrol is a polyphenol naturally present in grape skins, berries, peanuts and red wine that possesses anti-inflammatory, neuroprotective and antiaging properties. Foods rich in polyphenols like resveratrol protect against age-related diseases, such as cardiovascular disease, cancers, arthritis, cataracts, osteoporosis, Type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, pulmonary disease, atherosclerosis[xv] and Alzheimer’s disease (AD)

Resveratrol can influence multiple inflammatory and non-inflammatory responses, protecting organs and tissues, thanks to its interaction with immune cells and its activity on a protein called Sirtuin 1 (SIRT1), which is tied to inflammatory, metabolic and oxidative stressors.

Antiaging

Resveratrol has been shown to mediate antiaging effects through modulation of many different pathways. It will bind to numerous cell-signaling molecules, activate various transcription factors, suppress the expression of antiapoptotic gene products, inhibit protein kinases, induce antioxidant enzymes, suppress the expression of inflammatory biomarkers, inhibit the expression of angiogenic and metastatic gene products and modulate cell cycle regulatory genes, which makes it a powerhouse against numerous age-associated diseases

Brain Boosting

The prevalence of neurodegenerative disorders characterized by loss of neuronal function is rapidly increasing. In a systematic review of resveratrol treatment of neurodegenerative disorders, resveratrol successfully reduced cell damage due to inflammation and modulated cellular processes, including autophagy and the apoptosis cascade under stress.

Age-Defying and Neuro-Health Benefits

Resveratrol is a natural compound that may boost your brain health and help you look younger, live longer and function at a higher level as you age. For more research on this amazing substance, please see GreenMedInfo.com’s scientific evidence on resveratrol, neurodegenerative diseases and aging.

ZERO Smallpox Deaths or Injuries in 40 Years but 5,755 Injuries and Deaths from Smallpox Vaccines

As we reported over the weekend, the new plandemic being planned and rolled out to instill fear and sell more vaccines is the “monkeypox” virus. See:

Plandemic II Launched to Keep Pandemic Funds Flowing to Big Pharma: MonkeyPox

Belgium is the first country to introduce a mandatory 21-day monkeypox quarantine for those who contract the virus, after three cases were recorded in the country. (Source.)

Vaccines that are already approved by the FDA already exist for smallpox, and those same vaccines, the public is being told, will protect people from monkeypox as well.

The CDC announced today that they are releasing smallpox vaccines for new cases of monkeypox in the U.S., which to date total ONE case and few others “suspected.”

Officials for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on Monday said the agency is releasing doses of a smallpox vaccine in response to the few recent cases of monkeypox that have been detected in the U.S. (Source.)

Since these smallpox vaccines already exist, I did a search in the government VAERS (Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System) database to see how many injuries and deaths have been reported following smallpox vaccinations, since smallpox has allegedly been eradicated in the U.S. for over 40 years now, with no known cases resulting in deaths or injuries during the past 40+ years.

Smallpox vaccines have caused 5,755 cases to be filed including 18 deaths, 91 permanent disabilities, 3,088 visits to the emergency room, and 851 hospitalizations, for a disease that no longer exists in the U.S. (Source.)

And this is not a vaccine that has been given to many people in the past. It is not a vaccine that is in the CDC vaccine schedule for children, and in the statistics provided by the Health Resources & Services Administration website for total vaccine doses administered between 2006 and 2014, it is not listed there either.

According to the CDC, the smallpox vaccine has only been recommended “for specific populations at high risk of occupational exposure to orthopoxviruses.” (Source.)

So apparently these reported cases of injuries and deaths following smallpox vaccines are from a very small amount of smallpox vaccines given out during that past 40+ years.

There are two smallpox vaccines currently approved by the FDA (ACAM2000® and JYNNEOSTM), and a third one (Aventis Pasteur Smallpox Vaccine) that “is an investigational vaccine that may be used in a smallpox emergency under the appropriate regulatory mechanism (i.e., Investigational New Drug application [IND] or Emergency Use Authorization [EUA]).” (Source.)

One of these FDA approved smallpox vaccines, Jynneos, was just approved in September of 2019, and allegedly covers monkeypox in addition to smallpox. It is produced by Bavarian Nordic, and in 2019 the U.S. Government gave them $1.8 billion to secure 28 million doses to the “national stockpile” to “enhance domestic biodefense and global health security.”

These doses were apparently added to this “national stockpile” before the FDA even approved them. (Source.)

It is from this “stockpile” that the CDC is now releasing some to the public to deal with the “outbreak” of monkeypox in the U.S. that has infected one person.

Jynneos and Bavarian Nordic are not even listed yet in VAERS, which means this is an UNTESTED vaccine that is about to be distributed to people in the U.S. based on another false “pandemic.” All it currently has is FDA approval based on pre-launch studies, but apparently no real world experience of using it in the public.

Smallpox Vaccines Carry a LIVE Virus

Since we now have the evidence of massive fraud and criminal intent to commit harm and murder with the roll-out of the COVID-19 vaccines, it is wise that we take a very skeptical view of this new action by our nation’s corrupt government health agencies in rolling out these smallpox vaccines, which carry a live virus.

Since there are so few cases of smallpox at present, could the vaccines be the actual vehicle for spreading a new version of “monkeypox” to the rest of the population?

The CDC admits that people recently vaccinated with the existing FDA-approved smallpox vaccine can shed the virus in the vaccine to others.

Given the risk for vaccinia virus transmission from recently vaccinated persons through inadvertent inoculation, nonemergency use of ACAM2000 is also contraindicated in persons with household contacts with a history or presence of atopic dermatitis, other active exfoliative skin conditions (e.g., eczema, burns, impetigo, varicella zoster, herpes, severe acne, severe diaper dermatitis with extensive areas of denuded skin, psoriasis, or Darier disease [keratosis follicularis]); conditions associated with immunosuppression (e.g., HIV/AIDS, leukemia, lymphoma, generalized malignancy, solid organ transplantation, or therapy with alkylating agents, antimetabolites, radiation, TNF inhibitors, or high-dose corticosteroids [i.e., ≥2 mg/kg body weight or 20 mg/day of prednisone or its equivalent for ≥2 weeks], hematopoietic stem cell transplant recipients <24 months post-transplant or ≥24 months, but who have graft-versus-host disease or disease relapse, or autoimmune disease [e.g. systemic lupus erythematosus] with immunodeficiency as a clinical component); household contacts aged <1 year; and household contacts who are pregnant (recommendation category: A, evidence type 2 [Box]). Household contacts include persons with prolonged intimate contact with the potential vaccinee (e.g. sexual contacts) and others who might have direct contact with the vaccination site or with potentially contaminated materials (e.g., dressings or clothing). ACIP also does not recommend nonemergency vaccination with ACAM2000 for children and adolescents aged <18 years.

You can read about all the other Precautions and Contraindications for this FDA-approved smallpox vaccine here on the CDC website.

And guess what one of those side effects is that shares a common side effect with the COVID-19 vaccines?

Myopericarditis has also been associated with ACAM2000 and is estimated to occur at a rate of 5.7 per 1,000 primary vaccinees based on clinical trial data. (Source.)

Yes, weakened hearts resulting in heart disease is also a side effect of the smallpox vaccines.

GARDENING, FARMING & HOMESTEADING

11 Best Medicinal Herbs to Grow (Herb Garden & Wildcrafted)

These are my top picks for best medicinal herbs to grow in your herb garden and yard. I love being able to use remedies that I can grow myself, instead of expensive exotic herbs.

  1. Common Plantain (Plantago major)

Plantain is my personal favorite, which is why it’s in the website logo. It grows almost anywhere, and actually thrives in compacted soils where other plants struggle. You can start it from seed, or gather it from the wild.

Plantain leaves are amazing for insect bites and stings, and other types of skin conditions. Internally, we use it for coughs and sore throat, and digestive upsets. Learn more in the article “Broadleaf Plantain – The “Weed” You Won’t Want to Be Without“.

  1. Calendula (Calendula officinalis)

Calendula is also know as pot marigold. It should not be confused with French marigolds, Tagetes patula, which is also commonly called “marigold”.

Calendula is antiseptic and anti-inflammatory, gentle enough for babies, but soothing enough for adults, too. Use the flowers externally for skin soothing creams and ointments, or internally for gastrointestinal trouble and nourishing the lymphatic system.

  1. Peppermint (Metha x piperita) and other members of the mint family

Members of the mint family – peppermint, spearmint, chocolate mint, lemon balm – make lovely herbal teas. They are also good for soothing stomach troubles – cramping, gas, indigestion, vomiting, upset stomach, and colic in babies. I drank mint tea during my pregnancy to help settle my stomach.

Mints spread readily, and cross breed easily. Plant mint containers or spots where you can mow it, and separate varieties. It’s best to grow mint from plants, because seeds may not grow true to type.

  1. German Chamomile (Matricaria chamomilla or Matricaria recutita)

Chamomile is anti-inflammatory and antifever, and provides support for the nervous and digestive systems. Harvest the flowers for a cup of soothing chamomile tea.

Chamomile grows easily from seed, and readily self seeds. I planted it once in my garden, and it now volunteers reliably each year. See “Growing Chamomile” for more growing tips and uses.

  1. Elderberry

In recent years, elderberry has become extremely popular as an immune system booster and cough remedy. It’s so popular that it’s been hard to find the berries at times.

Thankfully, the bushes are fairly easy to grow. The flowers put on a beautiful show in late spring and the berries ripen from summer into fall.

European elderberry (Sambucus nigra) and American elderberry (Sambucus canadensis) have similar medicinal properties. You can learn more in the article, “How to Grow Elderberries for Food and Medicine“.

  1. Oregano (Origanum vulgare)

Oregano is a tonic herb, which means that it’s safe to consume in larger quantities (like loaded into your spaghetti sauce). It’s antimicrobial, plus recent research indicates antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antidiabetic and cancer suppressor properties.

You can harvest the leaves several times per season, and the bees love the blossoms. Sprinkle leaves on animal feed help prevent disease.

  1. Holy Basil (Ocimum tenuiflorum)

Holy basil is a frost tender perennial that I grow as an annual here at my Wisconsin homestead. Use the leaves, flowers and seeds for food and medicine.

This medicinal herb has many health benefits. It lowers fevers, eases pain, and reduces inflammation. Some studies show it helps with blood sugar management, rheumatism, and arthritis.

  1. English Lavender (Lavandula angustifolia)

Pain relieving, stress relieving, calming – lavender soothes you inside and out. Gather the flowers for aromatherapy, salves, or culinary use. If you don’t have fresh lavender, lavender essential oil is an acceptable substitute for medicinal use.

See “Lavender – Growing Tips & Uses in the Kitchen and Home” for more information.

  1. Comfrey (Symphytum officinale)

Comfrey is my go to remedy for sprains, bruises, and tears. It’s best avoided for deep puncture wounds, as the skin may close before the would heals below.

Use fresh or dried leave to make salve for easier application. Get the instructions here.

  1. Sage (Salvia officinalis)

The distinctive smell of sage fills my greenhouse on warm days, while the bees visit the vibrant blue blossoms. Sage is antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory, with a long history of medicinal use.

You can grow sage as a medicinal herb, but it also works well as a seasoning, and to help with cleaning. Learn more at Sage Benefits.

  1. Dandelion

Last but not least, the humble dandelion, which is good medicine from root to flower. Dandelion roots act as a diuretic, which can help reduce blood pressure. They help clear out liver congestion, and stimulate digestion.

Dandelion leaves are bitter, which helps to stimulate bile flow and aid digestion. They are a good source of potassium, and high in iron and magnesium.

See “Benefits of Dandelions” to learn more, and view this “weed” in a new light.

VIDEO – Dog Fights Mountain Lion That Attacked Owner: ‘I Owe Her My Life’

A loyal dog was ready to lay down her own life to rescue her best friend during a recent mountain lion attack in Northern California.

A few minutes after twenty-four-year-old Erin Wilson parked her truck and began walking down a trail to the Trinity River, the unthinkable happened, NPR reported Saturday.

“I’m just walking down the slope and the dog had run ahead of me. And I turn around and there’s this cat just growling at me and it reaches up and it swipes at me,” she recalled of the harrowing incident. “At first, I was just like, Wait, what? And I think I screamed and I shouted for Eva and she came running.”

Eva is the young woman’s Belgian Malinois, a breed the American Kennel Club (AKC) said “forges an unbreakable bond with his human partner.” They are also “highly sought after as police and military K-9s.”

Despite the danger, Eva instantly went into protection mode and tackled the massive cat. However, the animal’s jaws clamped down on her neck and the situation grew even worse.

“My fight mode kicked in and I started picking up rocks and I was bashing in its skull as hard as I could,” explained Wilson.

Moments later, she ran back to her truck for a crowbar and alerted a motorist named Sharon Houston, who grabbed a PVC pipe out of her own trunk.

They worked together to fight off the animal until it let go of the dog and ran away. Eva got up and Wilson eventually put her into their vehicle then sped down the road to a vet’s office.

How to Protect Your Pup From This Summer Hazard

Cheatgrass and foxtails are two common plants that can pose a risk to dogs and cats due to grass awns, which are short bristles on the end of the seed

Grass awns have barbs that can penetrate your pet’s skin and migrate deep into the body, putting internal organs at risk and possibly causing a life-threatening infection

Head shaking, sneezing, snoring and pawing at the face are symptoms that your dog may have cheatgrass or foxtails stuck on them; if the seeds aren’t removed, it could progress to an infection

Thoroughly inspecting and brushing your dog’s coat when you return from a hike or romp in the woods will help you find and remove any grass awns left behind

If a grass awn has penetrated the skin, be aware that you may not be able to remove it in its entirety, leaving small pieces behind that could quickly migrate deeper into the body; seek veterinary care immediately
