We’re in the Middle of a Global Coup — Here’s How We Stop It

The World Health Organization’s upcoming pandemic treaty and the International Health Regulation (IHR) amendments are part of a global “soft coup” to strip nations of their sovereignty and people of their bodily autonomy and freedom

The WHO wants to put into law a requirement that nations must censor their citizens, so that only public health messages aligned with the WHO’s recommendations can be shared

The IHR amendments specify that the WHO will dictate which drugs countries must use, and which they cannot, in the event of a pandemic — and possibly outside of pandemics as well

The IHRs have been in existence since 1969, but in the current draft of the IHR amendments — the WHO’s recommendations — become edicts that must be followed rather than recommendations that nations can ignore at will

The treaty demands the fast-tracking of vaccines, along with liability waivers for vaccine manufacturers. The EU, U.S. and CEPI have already proposed a plan to develop vaccines in 100 days

The treaty will apply to all nations that sign on, all the time, even when there are no pandemics

US Warship Shoots Down 14 Suspected Attack Drones Over the Red Sea

A U.S. warship shot down 14 suspected attack drones over the Red Sea on Saturday, and a Royal Navy destroyer downed another drone that was targeting commercial ships, the British and American militaries said.

Houthi rebels in Yemen have launched a series of attacks on vessels in the Red Sea, one of the world’s busiest shipping routes, and have launched drones and missiles targeting Israel, as the Israel–Hamas war threatens to spread.

U.S. Central Command said that the destroyer USS Carney “successfully engaged 14 unmanned aerial systems” launched from Houthi-controlled areas of Yemen.

Israel Uncovers ‘Biggest Hamas Tunnel’ Near Gaza Border

Israeli forces battling the Hamas terrorist group said they had uncovered an unusually large concrete and iron-girded tunnel, designed to carry carloads of terrorists from Gaza right up to the border.

Razing or disabling hundreds of kilometers of underground passages and bunkers is among the aims of the offensive Israel launched after Hamas terrorists went on a killing and kidnapping spree in its southern towns and army bases on Oct. 7.

Among sites that Hamas overran in that attack was the Erez border crossing between Gaza and Israel. Just 100 meters (yards) south of the checkpoint, concealed in a sand dune, the military showed reporters the exit point of what it said was a flagship Hamas project.

Intentional Destruction: First COVID, Now Comes “The Great Taking”

The Great Depression was a well-executed plan to seize assets, impoverish the population, and remake society. What comes next is worse…

A recent book by David Webb sheds new light on exactly what happened during the Great Depression. In Webb’s view, it was a set up.

Webb is a successful former investment banker and hedge fund manager with experience at the highest levels of the financial system. He published The Great Taking a few months ago, and recently supplemented it with a video documentary. Thorough, concise, comprehensible and FREE. Why? Because he wants everyone to understand what’s being done.

The Great Taking describes the roadmap to collapse the system, suppress the people, and seize all your assets. And it includes the receipts.

One of the largest solar flares ever recorded knocks out radio, could be headed for Earth

cientists have warned that the largest solar flare in six years could be headed for Earth in a matter of days. This comes after the flare blanked radio frequencies, including a major radio blackout in South America.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration recently reported that the solar flare “is likely one of the largest solar radio events ever recorded.” The flare is caused by explosions on the surface of the sun, which then expand outward and spew bursts of electromagnetic radiation.

The New York Post reported that the solar flare occurred on Thursday after a sunspot known as AR 3514 erupted with a class X.28 solar flare — the largest variety of flare that our sun is capable of producing. The report went on to say that the flare was the largest the star has generated since 2017.

Watch: Ukraine Politician Throws Hand Grenades In Town Meeting, Wounding 26

A contentious meeting to discuss a Ukrainian village’s 2024 budget turned to carnage on Friday morning when a politician aligned with President Volodymyr Zelensky dropped hand grenades on the floor, wounding 26 attendees, including himself. The incident took place in the western village of Keretsky — population 4,000 — in mountainous territory near the Hungarian border.

Ukrainska Pravda has identified the attacker as Serhiy Batryn, a member of Zelensky’s Servant of the People Party. Some outlets say he is a member of the Ukraine parliament, while others identify him as a village council member. Citing a Ukraine Telegram channel, the New York Post reports Batryn was arguing that he and colleagues should be allowed to fully report on this year’s budget before the 2024 budget was discussed.

Bartryn is said to have a long-running, contentious relationship with the village chief — and was opposed to a 2024 budget provision awarding the chief a 50% pay raise and monthly bonus for the duration of the war. The heated meeting was almost an hour and a half underway when Batryn left the room with another man, but then returned alone a few minutes later to stand just inside the doorway.

Pro-Vaccine Journalist Who Called for Punishment For Refusing Jab Dies Suddenly

A Canadian journalist who took strong positions in support of COVID-19 vaccines—including calling for vaccine passports and terminating police officers who refused the jab—has died suddenly.

Ian Vandaelle, a 33-year-old business journalist who worked at the Financial Post and earlier at BNN Bloomberg, was declared brain dead and taken off life support earlier this month, his partner, Stephanie Hughes, said in a post on X.

“I haven’t been on Twitter for a while because my partner, @IanVandaelle, has been in the hospital since Nov. 18,” Ms. Hughes wrote. “It’s with a heavy heart today that I say he was declared neurologically deceased this week and taken off life support this morning.”

Mr. Vandaelle’s death—the cause of which has not been disclosed—drew an outpouring of condolences among his current and former colleagues, many of whom took to social media to praise him for attributes like being kind and smart.

“Journalism has lost a great reporter, editor, producer, mentor, and all around great guy,” Ms. Hughes wrote in a post on X.

But Mr. Vandaelle’s death also stirred recollections of his ardent support for the COVID-19 vaccination push.

Church of England Blesses Same-Sex Couples For the First Time

Church of England priests offered officially sanctioned blessings of same-sex partnerships for the first time on Sunday, though a ban on church weddings for gay couples remains in place amid deep divisions within global Anglicanism over marriage and sexuality.

In one of the first ceremonies, the Rev. Catherine Bond and the Rev. Jane Pearce had their union blessed at St John the Baptist church, in Felixstowe, eastern England, where both are associate priests.

A Cardinal is convicted of embezzlement and sentenced to 5½ years in a major Vatican financial trial

A Vatican tribunal on Saturday convicted a cardinal of embezzlement and sentenced him to 5½ years in prison in one of several verdicts handed down in a complicated financial trial that aired the city state’s dirty laundry and tested its justice system.

Cardinal Angelo Becciu, the first cardinal ever prosecuted by the Vatican criminal court, was absolved of several other charges and his nine co-defendants received a mixed outcome of some guilty verdicts and many acquittals of the nearly 50 charges brought against them during a 2½ year trial.  Becciu’s lawyer, Fabio Viglione, said he respected the sentence but would appeal.

Supreme Court Declines to Block Illinois ‘Assault Weapons’ Ban

The Supreme Court has declined a request to impose a temporary halt to an Illinois law that bans AR-15-style rifles and long gun magazines with over 10 rounds.

The U.S. Supreme Court on Thursday declined to block a Democrat-backed “assault weapon” ban, leaving the restrictions in place—at least for now.

In a Dec. 14 order, the Supreme Court denied an emergency application for a writ of injunction that would have frozen the Illinois prohibition on certain types of semiautomatic rifles and magazines, with no justices dissenting.

The decision leaves in place the law—called the Protect Illinois Communities Act—making it illegal for the general public to own weapons like the AR-15 and ammunition magazines with a capacity greater than 10 rounds.

House Chair Files Ethics Complaint Against DC Judge Linked to Trump Case

A GOP lawmaker said that a DC judge made an ‘inappropriate political speech.’

Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-N.Y.) on Friday filed a complaint against a District of Columbia federal judge who has overseen a number of cases related to the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol breach and rejected arguments from former President Donald Trump’s attorneys.

The ethics complaint was filed against Judge Beryl Howell, who was appointed by President Barack Obama, has issued rulings against a number of Jan. 6 defendants, and also levied a fine against Elon Musk’s X platform, formerly known as Twitter, after the company refused to hand over access to posts, direct messages, and data related to President Trump’s account to special counsel Jack Smith.

The judge, who recently stepped down as the chief judge for the D.C. court, also supervised the grand jury for special counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia probe, which ended in 2019, as well as Mr. Smith’s indictment of President Trump, and she also declared that the first impeachment inquiry targeting the former president is legal. Earlier this year, Judge Howell sided with the Smith special counsel team in saying that there was sufficient evidence that President Trump “intentionally concealed” classified material from attorneys.

New York GOP Picks Israeli Veteran to Run in Special Election for Santos’ Seat

Republicans hope to retain the seat and hold on to a razor-thin House majority

New York Republicans have selected Mazi Melesa Pilip, an Ethiopian-born Israeli immigrant who served in the Israel Defense Force, to run against Democrat Tom Suozzi in the special election for the seat vacated by George Santos, who was expelled from the House of Representatives.

Electing Ms. Pilip on Feb. 13, 2024, is critical for the GOP to hold on to its slim edge in the House, where 221 Republicans and 213 Democrats currently serve.

“Mazi Pilip is a formidable candidate with a unique biography: a former IDF paratrooper and mother of seven. Mazi’s incredible life stands in stark contrast to career politician Tom Suozzi,” Rep. Richard Hudson (R-N.C.), chair of the House GOP campaign arm, said in a statement on Thursday.

Ex-FBI Intel Chief Who ‘Investigated’ Trump-Russia Collusion Gets 4 Years in Prison for Colluding with Russia

A former top FBI official who led the agency’s New York counterintelligence division, and played a key role in the Trump-Russia collusion probe, has been sentenced to 4 years in prison for colluding with Russia – and he may face an even longer sentence under a second indictment for hiding $225,000 in payments from a former Albanian intelligence officer.

Mr. McGonigal made at least $25,000 as an investigator for the law firm before directly working for Mr. Deripaska. He received an initial payment of $51,000 and then payments of $41,790 each month for three months from August 2021 to November 2021, the indictment said.

Prosecutors said Mr. McGonigal concealed his ties to the Russian oligarch by telling friends he was working for a “rich Russian guy” and stressed that his work was legal. In conversations about Mr. Deripaska, he would try to keep his employer’s identity a secret by referring to him as “the big guy” and “you know whom.” -Washington Times

Alex Jones Ordered to Pay $75,000 in Fines for Missing Deposition, Connecticut Court Rules

‘It’s a sad day when a court decides it can countermand a doctor’s orders,’ said Norm Pattis, attorney to Alex Jones.

A Connecticut appeals court has upheld a fine of $75,000 against online talk show host Alex Jones.

Mr. Jones was issued the fine on Dec. 15, after he missed a deposition in March 2022, following a lawsuit by family members of the Sandy Hook shooting.

In the lawsuit, Mr. Jones was ordered to pay nearly $1.5 billion in punitive damages for repeatedly stating the shooting was an orchestrated hoax perpetrated by crisis actors.

Kari Lake Issues Warning as Her Lawyers Face Discipline

Kari Lake wrote that ‘no one is safe’ after announcements about her lawyers.

Former Arizona gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake wrote that “no one is safe” after it was confirmed earlier this week that her lawyers may face punishment over her election-related lawsuits.

The Attorney Discipline Probable Cause Committee filed probable cause orders against her attorneys, Bryan Blehm, Kurt Olsen, and Andrew Parker, who had represented Ms. Lake in multiple lawsuits that were filed after the 2022 midterms.

Ms. Lake, who is now running for Arizona’s Senate seat in 2024, filed multiple lawsuits and made multiple claims questioning the legitimacy of the election, particularly in Maricopa County. Both Mr. Olsen and Mr. Blehm were sanctioned by the Arizona Supreme Court over some of the assertions.

RFK Jr. Says He Will Name a Vice Presidential Candidate ‘Fairly Soon’

Minutes after a voter rally where he told a crowd of 800 that “he intends to win” the 2024 presidential election, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. told reporters that he will name a vice presidential candidate “fairly soon.”

Mr. Kennedy, who left the Democrat primary to run as an independent on Oct. 9, is traveling the country and holding voter rallies, where he collects signatures to meet requirements for appearing on the ballot of all 50 states and Washington D.C.

Independent and third-party presidential candidates must declare their vice presidential pick in more than half of the states to get on the ballot, which presents a sense of

Giuliani Ordered to Pay Nearly $150 Million to Georgia Election Workers in Defamation Suit

On Dec. 14, Rudy Giuliani’s attorney said the requested damages were ‘catastrophic’ and part of a ‘Hollywood-type damage model.’

A federal jury on Dec. 15 ordered that former Trump attorney and former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani should pay two former Georgia election workers $148 million for defaming them during the 2020 presidential election.

The verdict came roughly four days after the jury entered deliberations and represents a hefty punch to Mr. Giuliani, who reportedly is already facing financial troubles. The plaintiffs had asked for at least $48 million in reputational damages, while not specifying an amount for punitive damages and intentional infliction of emotional distress.

Jurors ultimately awarded former election worker Ruby Freeman $16,171,000 for compensatory damages related to defamation and $20 million for emotional distress. The punitive damages, which are intended to send a message in especially bad cases, reached $75 million for both. Ms. Freeman’s daughter, Shay Moss, was awarded $16,998,000 in compensatory damages for defamation and $20 million for emotional distress.

Supreme Court to Review Arizona Death Row Inmate’s Sentence

The state says the 9th Circuit was wrong to ignore a lower court’s findings about potentially mitigating evidence.

The Supreme Court has agreed to review the death sentence imposed on an Arizona inmate who claims he received ineffective assistance from counsel during the sentencing process.

The Sixth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution guarantees a criminal defendant the right to effective assistance of counsel.

In the case, the state of Arizona is appealing a ruling by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit that the death row inmate was entitled to a new sentencing hearing.

Congress-Approved NDAA Requires Pentagon to Consider Reinstating Members Removed Over COVID Vaccine Mandate

U.S. military officials praised the bill but didn’t comment on the portions relating to vaccines.

The defense policy bill just passed by Congress includes a requirement that the U.S. military consider reinstating former members who were removed for refusing to receive a COVID-19 vaccine.

A secretary of a military branch must consider reinstating former members who ask to be reinstated within two years of their separation, according to the fiscal 2024 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) approved last week by both the U.S. House of Representatives and Senate.

President Joe Biden is expected to sign the legislation.

Arizona Gov. Sends National Guard to Border, Citing Feds’ Inaction on Migrant Influx

Arizona Gov. Katie Hobbs said the Biden administration has failed to respond to her request for reimbursement for border security spending.

Arizona Gov. Katie Hobbs signed an executive order on Friday to deploy National Guard members to the southern border with Mexico to tackle border issues, citing the lack of action from the federal government.

“Yet again, the federal government is refusing to do its job to secure our border and keep our communities safe,” Ms. Hobbs, a Democrat, said in a press release on Dec. 15.

National Guard members will be stationed at multiple locations along the southern border near the Lukeville Port of Entry and the San Miguel crossing. Ms. Hobbs did not specify how many members will be deployed.

US Space Command Reaches Full Operational Capability

The U.S. Space Command, the Pentagon’s newest and 11th combatant command, has reached full operating capability, according to its commander, Army Gen. James Dickinson.

Gen. Dickinson made the declaration during a headquarters town hall on Dec. 15, according to a statement. The U.S. Space Command (USSPACECOM) was created in 2019 at the direction of former President Donald Trump.

“Since its establishment in 2019, USSPACECOM has been singularly focused on delivering exquisite capability to the joint force to deter conflict, defend our vital interests, and, if necessary, defeat aggression,” Gen. Dickinson said.

General Motors Laying Off 1,300 Michigan Auto Workers After Raking in Millions from State’s Taxpayers

General Motors (GM) will lay off more than 1,300 auto workers across Michigan right after the Christmas holiday, executives announced this week. Those layoffs come even as GM raked in hundreds of millions of dollars from the state’s taxpayers through deals with Gov. Gretchen Whitmer (D).

In two separate state filings, GM executives said they are laying off 945 auto workers starting January 1, 2024, who are currently employed at its Orion Assembly Plant in Orion Township, Michigan.

IRS Reminds Taxpayers About January 16 Deadline for Q4 Estimated Taxes

Workers whose incomes are not subject to tax withholding must make quarterly estimated tax payments.

The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) issued a reminder to taxpayers to pay their quarterly estimated tax payments due next month on time to avoid penalties.

Employees have two ways to pay taxes during a year: withholding taxes from their wages or making quarterly estimated tax payments. For those who make quarterly estimated payments, the IRS reminded on Dec. 15 that the Q4 due date is on or before Jan. 16. Delaying such payments could attract penalties, it warned. The quarterly estimated payments are applicable to workers whose incomes are not subject to tax withholding.

“For employees, withholding is the amount of federal income tax withheld from your paycheck. The amount of income tax your employer withholds from your regular pay depends on two things: The amount you earn [and] the information you give your employer on Form W–4,” the IRS said.

Rewarding Obesity, Southwest Giving Free Second Seats To ‘Customers of Size’

Southwest Airlines is receiving a mix of praise and scorn over a policy giving obese passengers free seats to hold their overabundant girth. Basic economics suggests that it will result in healthy passengers subsidizing the humungous. Worse, some thin passengers will get booted from flights to make room.

Southwest didn’t announce its “Customer of Size” policy with fanfare. Rather, it came to wide public attention after fat TikTokkers started educating each other on how to take advantage of it.

Legal shockwaves: Lawsuit alleges Verizon cell tower caused life-threatening cardiac events

Not too long ago, the mainstream media often portrayed those expressing concerns about 5G wireless technology as on the outskirts of public opinion.  However, a recent lawsuit alleges that Verizon’s cellular signal towers may have detrimental effects on the human body.

The plaintiff in the case asserts a direct connection between exposure to these towers and severe, life-threatening heart problems.  This legal action marks a shift in the conversation about the safety of 5G technology, prompting a reevaluation of potential health implications associated with wireless infrastructure.

The lawsuit that might change the telecom industry is now on the court docket

Children’s Health Defense (CHD) has funded a lawsuit recently filed in the United States District Court for the District of Idaho Southern Division, taking aim at Verizon in what might set an important legal precedent.  The lawsuit alleges that plaintiff Henry Allen referred to as “Hank”, suffered negative health outcomes after Verizon cell towers were placed by his home.  Hank, a resident of Idaho, is sensitive to electromagnetic waves that are invisible to the human eye.

The complaint highlights how cell towers by his home emit radiofrequency radiation, allegedly causing more than a dozen episodes of atrial fibrillation.  The complaint also states elevated levels of radiofrequency radiation released by the tower cause a plethora of additional health problems, including:

  • Excessive fatigue
  • Memory loss
  • Poor sleep
  • Reduced vision
  • Symptoms similar to those that occur when one is stricken with the flu

Rediscovering Tea Tree Oil – and 8 Reasons to Stock Up

Tea tree oil is an ancient health-hacker.

When it comes to natural medicinal elixirs, ancient cultures often came up with the goods. Tea tree oil is one of them, derived from the tea tree plant which grows primarily in Australia’s New South Wales and Queensland. For centuries, the continent’s indigenous people have used tea tree oil as a germ killer, applied topically on wounds and skin infections, and as an herbal medicine to treat coughs and colds. They crushed and heated the leaves, then inhaled the vapors.

Tea tree oil takes on everyday irritations.

These days, this essential oil is used topically, as a super helpful, drug-fee, natural way to help treat a variety of common annoyances. By tapping into tea tree oil’s strong antibacterial, anti-fungal, and anti-inflammatory properties you can tamp down everyday irritations like nail fungus, dandruff, athlete’s foot, skin infections and more – without having to run to the drug store to pick up specialized chemically-based ointments or prescription pharmaceuticals.

Tea tree oil is Mother Nature’s unassuming disinfectant.

One of the most well-known uses of tea tree oil is as a natural disinfectant, thanks to its built-in antimicrobial compounds which are particularly effective when it comes to killing bacteria, viruses, and fungi throughout your home:

  • Got household surfaces that could use a clean-up without using an unhealthy commercial antibacterial brew? Make tea tree oil your DIY all-purpose cleaner default. With hot water, a few drops of tea tree oil and vinegar, you can easily mix up a safe and effective household disinfectant that you can spritz liberally, for far less than you’d pay for store-bought ‘natural’ or eco-friendly brands.
  • Got issues with mold and mildew? Tea tree oil contains terpenes that help kill mold spores and prevent them from coming back. Simply mix a few drops of tea tree oil with water in a spray bottle and spray it onto affected areas to send mold and mildew packing.
  • Got dirty laundry? Here too, a few drops of tea tree oil added to your usual laundry detergent can also help eliminate bacteria that may be lingering on your clothes.

SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY

It Begins: Here The Come The Deep Fake News AI Anchors

Journalists have branded plans for artificial intelligence news anchors ‘utterly terrifying’ – as an LA-based channel looks set to launch them next year.

Channel 1 is using the tech to create digital humans to provide updates about what is happening across the world.

The station wants to launch them on free ad-supported streaming TV – including apps such as Crackle, Tubi, or Pluto – as early as February.

But the news has horrified reporters across the US, who warned it could ‘have huge ramifications for an already depleted news industry.’

Ruby Media Group CEO Kristen Ruby shared on X: ‘If you believe in the concept of ‘fake news,’ you have seen nothing. At least your news is presented by humans. When AI news anchors replace human news anchors – the concept of fake news will have a totally different meaning.’

Alec Lazenby, a Canada’s BC Today reporter, also shared his concerns on X: ‘This is utterly utterly terrifying. While the development of an entirely AI-powered broadcast is beyond impressive, it could have huge ramifications for an already depleted news industry and accelerate the loss of high-quality reporters and anchors.’

DailyMail.com spoke with Channel 1 founder Adam Mosam, who assured his company will not exploit the controversial technology.

Mosam admitted that misuse of AI-generated news is inevitable, but Channel 1 aims to ‘get out in front of this and create a responsible use of the technology.’

But the public foresees a dystopian future where ‘fake news’ runs rampant because computer algorithms generate it.

Elon Musk’s ‘Grok’ AI Is Just as Woke as Other Chatbots

Elon Musk’s venture into AI with Grok, intended a humorous and honest alternative to woke leftist chatbots like OpenAI’s ChatGPT, has surprisingly aligned itself with progressive viewpoints. Grok is seemingly aligned with left-wing viewpoints on transgenderism in particular, leading Musk to comment that the team would attempt to make the chatbot “politically neutral.”

Forbes reports that Elon Musk’s latest AI creation, Grok, originally marketed as a brash and honest AI with the ability to swear, has recently been launched on X/Twitter as part of the X Premium Plus subscription. The AI, initially perceived as a politically neutral or even conservative-leaning tool, has exhibited unexpectedly progressive social and political views.

Report: Microsoft’s AI Chatbot ‘Hallucinates’ Election Misinformation

A recent investigation has revealed troubling issues with Microsoft’s AI chatbot, Copilot, disseminating misinformation and conspiracy theories related to elections. In one case, researchers asked the AI chatbot about corruption allegations against a Swiss lawmaker which the platform immediately responded with details and sources on, but there was just one problem — the AI had “hallucinated” the charges and supporting information. In other words, it made the charges up.

Wired reports that the integrity of information disseminated by AI chatbots has come under scrutiny following a concerning study. Microsoft’s AI chatbot, Copilot, originally known as Bing Chat, has been reportedly responding to political inquiries with a number of conspiracy theories, misinformation, and outdated or incorrect data, particularly regarding elections.

Saline Parents v. Garland, No. 22-5258 (D.C. Cir. 2023)

n this case, an unincorporated association, Saline Parents, and six individuals sued the Attorney General of the United States, Merrick Garland, alleging that the Department of Justice (DOJ) was unlawfully attempting to silence them and others who opposed progressive curricula and policies in public schools. This lawsuit was in response to a memorandum issued by the Attorney General, expressing concern over the increase in reported incidents of harassment, intimidation, and threats of violence against school administrators, board members, teachers, and staff. The memorandum instructed the DOJ staff to investigate the issue and discuss strategies to address it. The plaintiffs argued that their protest activities, which included constitutionally protected conduct and did not involve threats of criminal violence, had been unfairly targeted by the DOJ.

Storm leaves widespread flooding in area

Charlotte County reported the low-pressure system that swept through the region Saturday night resulted in flooding along coastal areas during Sunday morning’s high tide. Some roads were closed.

In Punta Gorda, officials reported road closures throughout the city due to flooding. This included Marion and Olympia avenues and nearby side roads.

“Our officers and Public Works department are working diligently to assess all flooded areas to address them appropriately,” the city stated on social media.

Residents were advised to be patient and to not drive through standing water or to move barricades.

In advance of the storm, the city closed the pickleball courts at Gilchrist Park on Saturday.

Crews removed the sound barriers in preparation for expected wind gusts. They will rehang the panels this week.

The city said the courts should reopen by Wednesday.

New York wakes to powerful storm bringing flood warnings and mass power outages

New Yorkers awoke Monday morning to a powerful storm that will bring commuter chaos, with more than 37,000 already without power across the Empire State.

The storm had already slammed Florida with tropical storm-like conditions and caused flash flood emergencies across the South Carolina coast.

It crept up the East Coast, bringing threats of flooding, high winds and severe weather that could cause power outages and disrupt the pre-Christmas travel season before it heads up to Canada Monday evening.

Heavy winds are expected to affect the morning commute, with peak gusts of between 45 to 55 mph occurring between 3 a.m. and 9 a.m., according to the National Weather Service for New York.

Two to four inches of rain is also expected to hammer the Big Apple, though some coastal areas could see four to six inches, with flooding of up to two and a half feet.

Research: Willow Bark Extract’s Potential for Inactivating COVID-19 and Enterovirus

Modern research marks willow bark, long used as a natural remedy, as a potent and highly effective remedy against coronaviruses.

The ever-evolving COVID-19 virus continues to persist, prompting the need for a natural antiviral solution. A recent study explored the broad-spectrum antiviral activity of willow bark extract, which has been used for its anti-inflammatory, antipyretic, and analgesic properties for thousands of years.

A study conducted by a team of Finnish scientists, published in the journal Frontiers in Microbiology in November, found that willow bark extract is highly effective in inactivating the coronaviruses SARS-CoV-2 and HCoV-OC43, as well as enteroviruses.

The research paper states, “There is a great need to find broadly acting antiviral agents that would lower the infectivity of viruses around us and that could complement the vaccines and drugs in the combat against viruses. Natural products are a rich source of bioactive compounds.”

Final Batch of Pfizer Documents Released by FDA 800 Days After COVID Vaccine Approval

The FDA released the final batch of documents it relied upon in licensing Pfizer’s Comirnaty COVID-19 vaccine for ages 16 and up—more than 800 days after the agency approved the shot.

The documents are “finally in the hands of the public, where they belong,” the Informed Consent Action Network said in a press release. “Now, independent scientists and researchers can see everything FDA saw when it made its decision that this vaccine was ‘safe and effective.’”

The recent documents disclosed as part of a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit against the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) show the agency knew its safety monitoring system was “not sufficient” for assessing the risk of heart conditions associated with Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine when it licensed the company’s “Comirnaty” vaccine.

FDA responds to Ladapo letter about DNA fragments detected in mRNA COVID-19 vaccines

In response to a letter in which Florida Surgeon General Joseph Ladapo noted the detection of DNA fragments in mRNA COVID-19 vaccines, Peter Marks, director of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research, emphasized the FDA’s view that the shots are safe and effective.

“I am writing to you to address the recent discovery of host cell DNA fragments within the Pfizer and Moderna COVID-19 mRNA vaccines,” Ladapo noted in his letter to FDA Commissioner Robert Califf and CDC Director Mandy Cohen.

“This raises concerns regarding the presence of nucleic acid contaminants in the approved Pfizer and Moderna COVID-19 mRNA vaccines, particularly in the presence of lipid nanoparticle complexes, and Simian Virus 40 (SV40) promoter/enhancer DNA. Lipid nanoparticles are an efficient vehicle for delivery of the mRNA in the COVID-19 vaccines into human cells, and may therefore be an equally efficient vehicle for delivering contaminant DNA into human cells. The presence of SV40 promoter/enhancer DNA may also pose a unique and heightened risk of DNA integration into host cells,” Ladapo wrote.

He also noted that “it is essential to human health to assess the risks of contaminant DNA integration into human DNA.”

Pfizer mRNA Vaccine Makes ‘Aberrant Proteins,’ Experts Concerned About Autoimmunity Events

A study shows that Pfizer vaccines were significantly more likely to produce proteins that some experts believe may increase cancer and autoimmune risk.

There may be around a 1 in 10 chance that Pfizer mRNA COVID-19 vaccines will not generate spike proteins but something else, a new Cambridge study finds, raising concerns about autoimmune response among experts.

The study authors found that 8 percent of the time, Pfizer mRNA COVID-19 vaccines are mistranslated, leading to the formation of unintended proteins.

This mistranslation is primarily driven by Pfizer’s modification to their mRNA bases.

Poll: Majority of U.S. Young People, 18-24, Want Israel to Be Destroyed

A majority of registered voters age 18 to 24 in the United States told a Harvard-Harris poll that they want “Israel to be ended and given to Hamas and the Palestinians,” rather than the two-state solution favored by 60% of Americans overall.

The shocking result, after a survey of 2.034 registered voters December 13-14, suggested that young people are profoundly more hostile to Israel than any other age group — a result that accompanies a wave of antisemitic protests on university campuses and in large cities.

“Why Does My Dog Run Away From Me?”

Does your dog reliably come in response to a signal like the whirl of a can opener, the sound of a treat drawer or jar being opened, or the word “walk”? When your dog hears cues that promise something they like, they come running — every time and with great enthusiasm. Yet, one of the most common behavioral frustrations that pet parents have is that their dogs won’t come when called.

There is a lot to be revealed about dog behavior by situations in which you may have accidentally trained your dogs to have a good recall (meaning they come back to you). If you feel like you’re failing in your efforts — there’s a silver lining here: you can use lessons from these accidental recalls to get your dog to come when you want them to.

‘Heroic’: Texas Teen Drives Friends to Safety Before Dying of Gunshot Wound in Road Rage Incident

A Texas teen is being hailed as a hero for getting her friends to safety before she died of a gunshot wound to the heart during a disturbing road rage incident.

Seventeen-year-old Louise Jean Wilson managed to veer off of the road to get her passengers out of harm’s way when another driver became enraged that she “unintentionally swerved” in front of them to “avoid striking a braking vehicle ahead” on December 10, the Houston Police Department reported.

Police said the unidentified driver of the “newer model, black or dark-colored, four-door sedan” then moved to the left of the victim’s vehicle, and at least one unknown suspect fired shots from the passenger side window, striking Wilson and a male back seat passenger. A second male passenger inside the vehicle was not injured.

The incident occurred at around 1:05 a.m. on South Interstate 45 in Houston, the department said.

Despite being shot in the heart, Wilson was able to “safely” guide her car off the road to “save her friends from the gunfire and prevent other drivers from crashing into her vehicle on the busy interstate,” the New York Post reported.

Wilson tragically died at the scene shortly after. The other wounded passenger was successfully treated and released from a local hospital.

“Louise’s last act was to safely pull over, most likely saving the lives of two males,” Detective Caleb Bowling said during a press conference. “It was a heroic act to get that car to the side and stop with the injuries that she sustained.”

The suspected shooter, described as a black male in his mid-20s, is still on the run.

A company contracted by Combs’ management identified Florida resident Nicol Harness as selling tumblers and t-shirts with his likeness on them on Amazon. Taking her to court, they won a $250,000 damages judgment, money which Harness, who has congestive heart failure, did not have, and had no means of obtaining.

“She told me she was absolutely shocked by this,” Combs said in a social media post. “I’m so apologetic. Talking to her, it makes me sick honestly that this would happen, especially at the holiday.”

Supreme Court Rejects Appeal of Healthcare Executive Given Clemency by Trump

The conviction of Philip Esformes of Florida in a record-breaking Medicare fraud will be allowed to stand.

The Supreme Court has rejected the Medicare fraud appeal of former healthcare executive Philip Esformes, whose sentence was commuted by President Donald Trump.

The prosecution involved what the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) described as the “largest health care fraud scheme ever charged” by the agency.

The Supreme Court rejected the petition for certiorari, or review, in Esformes v. United States in an unsigned order on Dec. 11. No justices dissented. The court did not explain its decision. At least four of the nine justices have to vote for a petition for it to advance to the oral argument stage.
