'Bomb cyclone' hits New York City; Gov. Cuomo declares state of emergency

The first winter storm of 2018 plunged the New York City into a deep freeze of wind-whipped snow Thursday, with a blinding whiteout wreaking havoc on local airports and roadways.  The mega-hyped “bomb cyclone” delivered as promised, leading Gov. Cuomo to declare a state of emergency for New York City and its suburbs while the region was pounded with snow, ice and savage winds.
