‘Digital Prison Camp’ — Putin Signs Electronic Conscription Notice Bill Into Law

Russian President Putin on Friday signed a bill allowing authorities to issue electronic notices to draftees and reservists amid the fighting in Ukraine, sparking fears of a new wave of mobilization.

Russia’s military service rules previously required the in-person delivery of notices to conscripts and reservists who are called up for duty. Under the new law, the notices issued by local military conscription offices will continue to be sent by mail but they would be considered valid from the moment they are put on a state portal for electronic services.

U.S. Sends Warship Through Taiwan Strait After China War Games

A U.S. Navy warship sailed through the contested waters separating Taiwan and mainland China on Sunday just days after Beijing concluded week-long war games around the self-ruled, independent island.

The U.S. 7th Fleet said the transit by the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Milius (DDG 69) was routine. The warship “transited through a corridor in the Strait that is beyond the territorial sea of any coastal State,” a statement outlined, adding:

Milius’ transit through the Taiwan Strait demonstrates the United States’ commitment to a free and open Indo-Pacific. The United States military flies, sails, and operates anywhere international law allows.

Finland Starts Construction of Border Fence With Russia After Joining NATO

The construction of barbed-wired fence along Finland’s long border with Russia – primarily meant to curb illegal migration – has broken ground near the southeastern town of Imatra less than two weeks after the Nordic country joined NATO as the 31st member of the military alliance.

The Finnish Border Guard on Friday showcased the building of the initial three kilometer (1.8 mile) stretch of the fence to be erected in Pelkola near a crossing point off Imatra, a quiet lakeside town of some 25,000 people.

Finland Turns On Europe’s Largest Capacity Nuclear Power Plant After Years of Delay

inland’s much-delayed and costly new nuclear reactor, Europe’s most powerful by production capacity, has completed a test phase lasting over a year and started regular output, boosting the Nordic country’s electricity self-sufficiency significantly.

The Olkiluoto 3 reactor, which has 1,600-megawatt capacity, was connected into the Finnish national power grid in March 2022 and kicked off regular production on Sunday. Operator Teollisuuden Voima, or TVO, tweeted that “Olkiluoto 3 is now ready” after a delay of 14 years from the original plan.

Cartel Killings Continue to Plague Cancun, Surrounding Areas

Cartel killings and kidnappings continue to plague Cancun and the surrounding areas as cartel criminal organizations continue to battle. The groups tied to factions of the Sinaloa Cartel and Cartel Jalisco New Generation are fighting for control of the region’s lucrative drug distribution and other businesses catering to tourists.

Due to the healthy number of tourists that continue to arrive in Cancun and surrounding hotspots like Playa Del Carmen, Tulum, and Isla Mujeres, the violence in the region continues. The cartels try to keep or gain control of local drug distribution, sex trade, liquor trade, and other tourist geared commodities. Additionally, drug cartels have a history of extorting local businesses for protection money or forcing them, in the case of bars or restaurants, to sell drugs.

Over 6,000 Troops to Take Part in Coronation of King Charles III

More than 6,000 British military personnel will take part in the coronation of King Charles III, the U.K. forces’ biggest ceremonial deployment in seven decades, the government said Sunday.

The Ministry of Defense said thousands of soldiers, sailors and aviators will escort the king and Camilla, the queen consort, between Buckingham Palace and Westminster Abbey on their way to and from the May 6 ceremony.

Gun salutes will ring out from British warships and army bases across the country, and later military aircraft – from World War II Spitfires to modern fighter jets – will perform a flypast over the palace.

Defense Secretary Ben Wallace said it would be “a spectacular and fitting tribute” to the monarch, who is also commander-in-chief of the U.K. armed forces.

Dadeville birthday party mass shooting: 4 dead, 28 reportedly injured

Four people are dead and as many as 28 reportedly injured following a shooting at a birthday party in Dadeville Saturday night, according to multiple reports.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency reported that at 11:45 p.m. Saturday special agents launched an investigation at the request of the Dadeville police chief.

At a 10 a.m. press conference, Senior Trooper Jeremy Burkett said anyone with tips is asked to call 1-800-392-8011 or email the crime tipline at sbi.investigations@alea.gov. Officials did not take questions during the press conference, and did not say whether anyone is in custody in connection with the shooting.

Exclusive — Kash Patel Questions Emerging Narrative on Pentagon Leaks: ‘This Is an Extensive Cover-Up’

Kash Patel, former chief of staff at the Pentagon and former deputy director of National Intelligence, in an exclusive interview with Breitbart News on Friday, questioned the evolving narrative over the Pentagon leaks — specifically that a 21-year-old Massachusetts Air National Guard reservist acted alone to leak top secret military data.

Patel, a former federal prosecutor, said he does not believe “for a single second, this guy — a 21-year-old Air National Guardsman — ran this operation alone.”

Police: Pennsylvania High School Track Coach Allegedly Had Sexual Relations with Teen Student for a Year

Investigators in Easton, Pennsylvania, claim that track coach Hannah Marth had a sexual relationship with a teenage student for a year before authorities found out.

Northhampton District Attorney Terence Houck said the 26-year-old, a teacher and coach in the Easton Area School District, had a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old boy from May 2021 to October 2022.

Supreme Court Rules Against Biden Administration in Agency Lawsuit Dispute

A Supreme Court ruling on April 14 made it easier to challenge the reach of two powerful federal agencies—the U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

In its new red tape-cutting decision that is a defeat for the Biden administration, the Supreme Court took steps to rein in the so-called administrative state and reaffirm the separation of powers doctrine that prevents any specific branch of the government from exercising the core functions of another. The idea behind the doctrine is to discourage the concentration of power and make sure there are checks and balances.

Critics of the administrative state claim that in-house adjudications carried out by agencies are unfair because the tribunals, unlike regular courts, lack fixed evidentiary rules, allowing the agencies to function as prosecutor, judge, and jury. They argue that the tribunals are unconstitutional because they are not politically accountable.

IN-DEPTH: What We Know About Jack Teixeira, Accused of Involvement in Classified Documents Leak

A 21-year-old has been taken into custody for allegedly being involved in the leak of secret U.S. military documents.

Jack Teixeira of the Massachusetts Air National Guard was arrested on April 13 at a home in southern Massachusetts, about 18 miles east of Providence, Rhode Island.

Here’s what we know about Teixeira.

IT Specialist

After enlisting in September 2019, Teixeira became a cyber transport systems specialist, a National Guard spokesperson told The Epoch Times via email.

According to his specialty code, Teixeira was listed at the lowest skill level.

Describing cyber transport systems personnel, the Air Force website states: “A vast, global communications network is one of the many things that makes us the most powerful air force on the planet. Making sure the underlying infrastructure of this network is operating properly is the responsibility of Cyber Transport Systems specialists. Whether it’s repairing a network hub at a stateside base or installing fiber-optic cable at a forward installation overseas, these experts keep our communications systems up and running and play an integral role in our continuing success.”

Took Documents Home

An investigation found that a person who had been posting the documents on social media initially transcribed text from the documents at work, but became concerned he would be discovered.

The person, later identified as Teixeira, “began taking the documents to his residence and photographing them,” charging documents stated.

A social media user who spoke to the FBI said that the person called himself Jack, appeared to live in Massachusetts, and claimed he was in the U.S. Air National Guard.

Documents Posted Online

Among the dozens of images that were circulating, one image appeared to show a recent map of fighting in eastern Ukraine’s Donetsk region. And another purported intelligence image showed damage that was done by a “recent strike,” dated February 2023, in the Donetsk city of Marinka.

Another apparently leaked Defense Intelligence Agency document appeared to outline possible scenarios in which the Israeli government would provide Ukrainian forces with weapons. It listed several scenarios, which were labeled from “most plausible” to “least plausible.”

Classified Documents Leak: To What End?

Commentary by By Devvy Kidd

When the news broke last week about a 21-year-old National Guard member allegedly leaking classified documents – not just leaking but posting to something called a chat app for months, I was flabbergasted.  Something didn’t smell right.  How could such a thing happen?

When I went to work for DoD in Northern California, I had a secret security clearance.  When I went to work at Peterson AFB, Air Force Space Command NORAD (after I became a federal whistleblower and was transferred to contracting) a serious background investigation was done to elevate my clearance.  One of my contracts was inside Cheyenne Mountain (Colorado Springs, CO) and a few at another Air Base which required I had a Retina scan in order to get on the base every visit as some of the R & D for Reagan’s “Star Wars” Initiative was housed there.  I do know a bit about security clearances.

“Teixeira joined the Air National Guard in September 2019 and was most recently stationed at Otis Air National Guard Base as a “Cyber Transport Systems Journeyman.”  He held the highest-level security clearance granted by the government to review top secret information, according to an internal Department of Defense email reviewed by Fox News.”

I was astonished when I read that.  Culling through dozens of articles I thought how does a 21-yearold gamer who apparently suffers from boredom get the highest-level security clearance issued by the U.S. government?  My late husband did two tours in Germany, was in Vietnam and when he was assigned to the Pentagon, he had to wait while a new deep background investigation was finished simply because he was elevated to top-secret clearance and that was after more than a decade of honorable service.

ANALYSIS: You’ve Heard of the Legal Cases Against Trump, but Do They Actually Have Merit?

News Analysis

Last week’s politicized indictment of former president Donald Trump was the latest in a yearslong effort to target him that began with the Hillary Clinton presidential campaign’s fabricated Russia collusion plot in 2016.

But it is not the only legal case Trump is dealing with. There are at least three additional ongoing investigations that could result in further indictments.

There’s a state case in Georgia that is being pushed by a local prosecutor, Fani Willis of Fulton County, and then there are two cases involving special counsel Jack Smith. These are federal cases, the first of which relates to Trump’s alleged wrongdoing on Jan. 6, 2021, and the second having to do with Trump retaining documents from his presidency, which—allegedly—he was supposed to have returned when he left the White House.

Just a quick word on pardons before we dive into these cases. Only the federal cases are subject to presidential pardons. The New York and Georgia cases are subject to pardons from the respective governors of those states.

Trump Spends 7 Hours Answering Questions in Deposition for $250 Million Fraud Lawsuit

Former President Donald Trump spent nearly seven hours on April 13 answering questions during his second deposition as part of a $250 million fraud case bought by New York Attorney General Letitia James.

Trump was seen arriving by motorcade at the attorney general’s office in Lower Manhattan just after 9:30 a.m. and left just after 6 p.m., according to reports.

His attorney Alina Habba said he was “not only willing but also eager to testify” in the deposition for which James, a Democrat, was reportedly not present.

That marks a reversal from Trump’s previous deposition in the civil case last year when he invoked his Fifth Amendment protection against self-incrimination and remained silent.

“He remains resolute in his stance that he has nothing to conceal, and he looks forward to educating the attorney general about the immense success of his multi-billion dollar company,” Habba told The Epoch Times.

Trump Lawyers Granted Deposition of Rape Accuser Amid Claims of Ties to Democrat Funding, Questionable Credibility

A Manhattan federal judge on Thursday allowed attorneys of former President Donald Trump to depose, for questions related to witness credibility, E. Jean Carroll, a writer who accused Trump of sexual assault and defamation.

U.S. District Judge Lewis A. Kaplan, a Clinton appointee, ordered that Trump’s attorneys, Joseph Tacopina and Alina Habba, can question Carroll on an apparent inconsistency in her sworn testimony in pre-trial depositions about how she funded her defamation lawsuit against Trump.

It came after Trump’s attorneys learned days ago that—contrary to Carroll’s sworn statements in an Oct. 14, 2022, deposition that no one else is paying her legal fees—prominent Democrat donor, LinkedIn Founder Reid Hoffman, is funding at least some of her legal fees.

This apparent inconsistency “might prove relevant to the question of plaintiffs credibility, in view of the deposition testimony” of Carroll, the judge wrote in his Thursday order.

The lawsuit dated to 2019, when Carroll accused Trump of sexually assaulting her in the mid-1990s.

After the then-president denied her allegations in 2019, Carroll filed a defamation lawsuit against him in the same year, which bounced around state, federal, and appellate courts in New York and Washington, D.C.

Trump has denied all of Carroll’s allegations.

Former Prosecutors Say Trump’s NYC Case Could Be Headed in Only One Direction

Several former prosecutors said Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s case against former President Donald Trump faces major hurdles, coming more than a week after his unprecedented arraignment at a Manhattan courthouse.

Since his arrest, a number of legal experts have publicly said that if the case didn’t involve Trump, charges likely wouldn’t have been brought.

“If it wasn’t Donald Trump, no prosecutor in the world would have touched this,” former Manhattan assistant district attorney Daniel Bibb told Fox News. “If you and I did what Trump did, we never would have been charged.”

Trump 2024 Fundraising Soars Nearly $19 Million First Quarter After Indictment

Former President Donald Trump raised about $18.8 million in fundraising in the first three months of this year, with much of the money coming in after his indictment and arraignment in Manhattan, according to his campaign.

Trump’s campaign provided the three-month figure to Fox News and added that $15.4 million of the total were collected in the two weeks after March 30, the day that Trump was indicted by a grand jury convened by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg.

According to the outlet, Trump was raising about $170,000 daily from Jan. 1 to March 30.

However, that daily figure jumped to $4 million in the 24 hours after Trump’s indictment. And three days after the indictment, Trump’s campaign raised a total of $7 million.

Trump’s Financial Report Shows His Business Empire Expanding

Former President Donald Trump has filed a personal financial disclosure report, which shows the former president’s vast business empire—valued at around $1.2 billion—expanding since his return to private life.

The 101-page report (pdf) was filed with the Federal Election Commission as he campaigns to secure the Republican nomination for president in 2024.

Trump’s business acumen, which he campaigned on ahead of the 2016 election and has repeatedly highlighted since then, appears in sharp focus in the filings.

Since leaving office in January 2021, Trump has approximately doubled his number of business holdings, with a total estimated value of at least $1.2 billion.

In terms of income, the filing provides limited information because it reports income in broad ranges, unlike the disclosures Trump had to file while president that showed specific figures.

EXCLUSIVE: Footage of Firebombing of Pregnancy Center Released by Pro-Life Group

The Epoch Times has obtained exclusive video of the firebombing of the pregnancy resource center that was attacked last June by suspected pro-abortion militants in Buffalo, New York.

The video has been at the center of a controversy between CompassCare, the Christian pregnancy center, and the police who refused to return the video to the clinic.

The video was returned under an agreement between the clinic and the Town of Amherst.

INVESTIGATIVE: Alvin Bragg and His Team: A Background Check

On April 4, Manhattan District Attorney Alvin L. Bragg, Jr. filed a 16-page indictment of 34 felony charges and a 13-page Statement of Facts against former President Donald Trump for allegedly falsifying New York business records to conceal damaging information regarding an alleged affair with adult film actress Stormy Daniels before and after the 2016 election.

On April 6, House Judiciary Committee chairman Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) issued a subpoena to former special assistant D.A. Mark Pomerantz, who played a significant role in Bragg’s criminal investigation of Trump. Pomerantz and Carey Dunne resigned in February 2022 after Bragg backtracked on his campaign promise to seek criminal charges against the former president due to his doubts that there was enough evidence to make the case. On April 11, Bragg filed a federal lawsuit seeking to block a House Judiciary Committee subpoena issued by Jordan. That same day, United States District Judge Mary Vyskocol declined Bragg’s effort.

Bragg is the first prosecutor in United States history to bring a criminal case against a current or former American president. But who is he?

ANALYSIS: Trump Coverage Reveals How Media Frames and Excludes

News Analysis

It’s been more than a week since the indictment of former President Donald Trump dominated the news cycle.

What happened to the story?

As of the late afternoon on April 13, the name “Trump” appeared nowhere on the front page of Google News.

There and elsewhere, the arrest of 21-year-old Jack Teixeira, accused of leaking classified national defense material, claimed the limited attention spans of those in the Journalist-American community.

Trump and the indictment didn’t make the very top of The New York Times’ digital front page. Yet, the title of a subsection about a quarter of the way down, “The Trump Investigations,” offers some clues as to how Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s controversial case may be recast—namely, as one of many legal quagmires through which the ex-commander-in-chief must trudge.

Mike Pompeo Announces Decision on 2024 Run

Mike Pompeo, former U.S. Secretary of State under the Trump administration, announced on Friday that he will not run for president in 2024

Pompeo, in an interview with Fox News, announced his decision late afternoon today.

“I have made a decision: I was on your show a number of months back, and you asked what I was gonna to do in 2024. Susan and I now have been thinking about it and, prayerfully, have come to the conclusion that we’re not going to join the race in 2024,” Pompeo told host Bret Baier, referring to his wife.

“While we care deeply about America and the issues that I’ve been talking about this last year and a half—and frankly for decades—matter an awful lot, this isn’t our moment. This isn’t the time for us to seek elected office,” the former official added.

Billionaire Republican Donor Says He’s Now ‘Reluctant’ to Back DeSantis 2024 Bid

A top Republican donor said he is withholding support for Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis due to his stance on abortion and other social issues.

Earlier this year, billionaire businessman Thomas Peterffy told the Financial Times he was aiming to support DeSantis and was “looking forward” to backing a 2024 presidential bid. But in a Saturday interview with the publication, Peterffy stated: “I am more reluctant to back him. We are waiting to see who among the primary candidates is most likely to be able to win the general, and then put all of our firepower behind them.”

“I have put myself on hold,” Peterffy, the founder and chairman of Interactive Brokers,  told the publication. “Because of his stance on abortion and book banning … myself, and a bunch of friends, are holding our powder dry.”

Transgender Teacher Fired After Allegedly Threatening to Shoot Students

A transgender teacher at a Florida middle school was allowed to remain on campus for several weeks after allegedly making disturbing comments about shooting students and “having bad thoughts.”

In a statement released on April 14, the Florida Department of Education responded to the situation regarding student safety at Fox Chapel Middle School in Hernando County, saying the teacher, Ashlee Renczkowski, has been removed from the school.

The department noted that the removal happened only after state officials raised their concerns with Hernando County School District Superintendent John Stratton Wednesday evening.

According to an incident report obtained by parental rights group “Moms for Liberty,” a school resource officer temporarily assigned to Fox Chapel Middle School was notified by Assistant Principal Kerry Thornton and Guidance Counselor Kimberly Walby on March 24 regarding Renczkowski making “concerning statements about self-harm” and possibly shooting students.

Thieves Steal 2 Million Dimes from Tractor-Trailer in Philadelphia Walmart Parking Lot

Police are searching for thieves who they say stole an estimated two million dimes worth $200,000 from a tractor-trailer in a Walmart parking lot in Philadelphia.

A truck driver who picked up $750,000 worth of dimes from the Philadelphia Mint on Wednesday parked his truck in a Walmart parking lot and went home to sleep before a long drive to Florida. When he went to get the truck the next morning, he found the trailer door open and dimes scattered all over the ground, according to a report by WPVI.

NY Dem Assemblyman Accused of Sexual Harassment, Making Creepy Comments on Son’s Underage Sexual Encounters

A Democrat New York Assemblyman’s former legislative director is accusing him of sexual harassment as well as making inappropriate claims about his son’s underage sexual encounters, the New York Post reported on Friday.

The former legislative director, Nicole Golias, filed the complaint against 38-year-old Assemblyman Pat Burke (D-Buffalo) on April 1 with the New York Division of Human Rights after she and two other staffers were fired last year amid an internal controversy regarding Burke’s response to the Buffalo supermarket mass shooting, according to the report.

Local Assistant U.S. Attorney Pleads Guilty To Illegally Steering Contracts To Her Spouse

An Assistant U.S. Attorney in Pensacola has pleaded guilty to illegally steering contracts to her spouse, in violation of the federal criminal conflict of interest statute.

According to court documents, 55-year old Kathryn Drey, 55 directed contracts from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Florida to companies in which her spouse had a financial interest, including while she served as chief of the office’s Civil Division. Drey concealed her spouse’s financial interest in contracts to conduct title searches in litigation defended by the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

“Kathryn Drey committed a federal crime by enriching her family at the expense of her duty to the American people,” said Assistant Attorney General Kenneth A. Polite, Jr. of the Justice Department’s Criminal Division. “The Department of Justice is committed to holding accountable public servants who act with unlawful conflicts of interest, prioritizing financial gain over their ethical duties.”

Drey pleaded guilty to one count of acting with a conflict of interest. She is scheduled to be sentenced on June 28 and faces a maximum penalty of five years in prison. A federal district court judge will determine any sentence after considering the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and other statutory factors.

“The public trusts Department of Justice employees to act with the highest integrity. Instead, Drey acted in her own self-interest to improperly profit from her official position,” said Special Agent in Charge James F. Boyersmith of the Department of Justice Office of the Inspector General (DOJ-OIG) Miami Field Office. “DOJ-OIG is committed to rooting out this kind of egregious misconduct and bringing perpetrators to justice.”

Washington Bill Would Bar Parents from Intervening on Child Gender Transitions

A bill in Washington state would prevent parents from intervening in their child’s decision to receive gender transition treatments.

Senate Bill 5599 would essentially allow host homes for runaway youth to house minors “without parental permission.” The host homes would also not be required to notify parents of their child’s whereabouts or tell them if they are undergoing gender transition procedures “if there is a compelling reason not to, which includes a youth seeking protected health services.” Per Fox News:

The “protected health care services” included “gender-affirming care,” which for minors arbitrarily included anything prescribed by a doctor to treat dysphoria, the bill said.

“Gender affirming treatment can be prescribed to two-spirit, transgender, nonbinary, and other gender diverse individuals,” the bill stated.

For minors, “affirming care” typically included puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones and surgeries. It was unclear which services would be approved under the bill.

Biden’s Parole Pipeline Frees over a Million Migrants into U.S., Exceeding Populations of 6 States

President Joe Biden’s Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has released more than a million migrants into the United States through a parole pipeline — a foreign population that exceeds the populations of six states.

A few months into taking office in 2021, Biden began implementing an expansive Catch and Release network that has transformed the U.S.-Mexico border into a European-style checkpoint where many border crossers are merely stopped, briefly detained, and then released into the nation’s interior.

Iodine Truth and Lies

Your body does not produce iodine, so you must get it from your food. Iodine was added to table salt to reduce the public health threat, but recommendations for a low-salt diet have contributed to a rise in the risk once again

Roughly 30% of the world is thought to be deficient. Physicians once prescribed drops of Lugol’s solution for iodine supplementation, but that fell out of vogue after two physicians misinterpreted scientific data in 1948

The subsequent addition of competing minerals — fluoride to the water supply and substitution of potassium bromate for potassium iodide in bread and pastry flour — increased the risk of hypothyroidism and iodine insufficiency

Symptoms of hypothyroidism include fatigue, difficulty learning and remembering, difficulty with weight loss, always feeling cold and difficulty getting pregnant

I recommend you get as much iodine from your food as possible, including iodine-rich organic, grass fed dairy products, organic cranberries, eggs, potatoes and sea vegetables, which have more iodine than any other source

Parkinson’s disease affects about 1 million people in North America and over 10 million people around the globe. In the United States alone, Parkinson’s disease occurs in roughly 13 per 100,000 people with around 90,000 new cases detected each year, up from 60,000 in recent years, according to a 2022 Parkinson’s Foundation-backed study.

Beef Producers Panic Over mRNA Vaccine News

Pork producers have been using customizable mRNA-based “vaccines” on their herds since 2018, without telling the public

All customized mRNA “vaccines” are untested. Only the mRNA platform itself has been approved

According to the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association, “there are no current mRNA vaccines licensed for use in beef cattle in the United States.” However, a lobbyist for the association claims to have “double-vaccinated” his own herd with an mRNA “vaccine” against bovine respiratory disease

Is Your Clothing Drenched in ‘Forever Chemicals’?

The term dressed to kill has taken on a whole new meaning.

Dangerous chemicals are now so ubiquitous they are in our water supply, the food we eat, and even—the clothing we wear

The Dorito Effect — A Surprising Truth about Food and Flavor

Animals instinctively select the foods they need to correct nutrient deficiencies based on flavor feedback; humans are equipped with similar chemical-sensing ability, which is being hijacked by artificially flavored foods

Flavor experience takes up more gray matter than any other sensory experience, and the largest portion of the human genome involves the creation of your nose. So, from an evolutionary perspective, this chemical-sensing ability appears particularly important

Flavor is a marker for the nutritional density of the food. Artificial flavor technology has allowed for the radical deterioration of food quality, as you can easily mask the flavor of inferior-quality ingredients with chemicals

Using flavored chemicals, you can now produce food that have virtually no nutritional value, yet the great taste and aroma fool consumers into thinking they’re eating something wholesome

Artificial flavors encourage obesity as they entice you to eat food you normally would not want to eat, and eat more than you normally would

Ex-Treasury Secretary Predicts ’70 Percent’ Chance Recession Begins This Year

A recession is most likely right around the corner, said a former Clinton and Obama administration official in a Sunday morning warning.

“The chance that a recession will have begun this year in the U.S. is probably about 70 percent. I think that puts me at the pessimistic end of the spectrum of opinion,” he wrote on Twitter.

Yellen: US Banks ‘Likely to’ Tighten Lending, Negating Need for More Fed Rate Hikes

Banks are likely to slow down in lending in light of the fallout from the recent banking crisis and do part of the federal government’s work in cooling inflation, Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen said Sunday.

“Banks are likely to become somewhat more cautious in this environment,” Yellen said in an interview on CNN’s “Fareed Zakaria GPS” program aired on Sunday morning. “That does tend to lead to somewhat greater restriction in credit that could be a substitute for further interest-rate hikes that the Fed needs to make.”

‘We’re Going to See a Lot of Bankruptcies’: Former CEO

Bob Nardelli, the former CEO of Home Depot, is warning about more bankruptcies hitting the U.S. economy, and blames lawmakers for their delay in coming to terms regarding the country’s debt ceiling.

“I think we’re going to see a lot of bankruptcies. Like Bed, Bath, and Beyond. We got Walmart not only laying people off but closing stores. We got Accenture laying people off. We got Amazon closing distribution centers. So, I think there’s a tremendous-mixed message,” Nardelli said in an April 14 interview with Fox. At present, the “complexity” of the American economy is “different than anything I have seen in my 52 years.”

GOP Lawmaker Reintroduces Bill to Keep Sensitive US Technology Out of Chinese Military’s Hands

Rep. Mark Green (R-Tenn.) has reintroduced his China Technology Transfer Regulation Act in a bid to prevent the Chinese military from acquiring sensitive U.S. technology and intellectual property through export controls.

The bill, released on the eve of the 34th anniversary of the 1989 pro-democracy protests in the heart of Beijing, aims to control United States exports of certain technology and intellectual property important to national interests to keep it out of the hands of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).

The lawmaker underscored the potential harm that the United States and others could experience by pointing to what China’s regime has done in its own country to ignore egregious crimes against its people.

“More than three decades ago, the world witnessed the unbelievable strength and courage of the Chinese people in Tiananmen Square. We especially saw this on display when one man stood before a line of tanks,” Green told The Epoch Times. “Tank man”—who confronted soldiers executing a bloody suppression under the regime’s orders that June—has since become a symbol of freedom.

Majority of California Emerges from Drought Crisis: US Drought Monitor

California has been grappling with one of the longest droughts in its history for nearly three years, and the state is finally seeing a ray of hope.

The recent winter storms that hit the Golden State from December until March have resulted in almost complete eradication of drought conditions, according to the latest data from the U.S. Drought Monitor. The April 11 update, published on April 13, comes as the state has been under strict drought regulations for years.

Biden Admin Affirms Trump-Era Decision to Export Natural Gas From Alaska

The Department of Energy (DOE) on April 13 affirmed a Trump-era decision to export liquified natural gas (LNG) from a facility in Alaska.

Diving Seabird Populations Decline 94 Percent Near Offshore Wind Farms: Study

A new study by German scientists has found that populations of a group of aquatic birds known as red-throated loons or “divers” have declined by more than 90 percent in the North Sea after offshore wind farms were built there.

The findings of the study, titled “Large-scale effects of offshore wind farms on seabirds of high conservation concern,” were published in Nature on April 13.

The study authors noted that “wind energy, specifically the installation of offshore wind farms (OWFs), has made a substantial contribution to renewable energy production in recent decades, with the North Sea currently being the key area for OWFs worldwide.”

Did you ever notice that some things compost beautifully, while other things bog down your bins? I try to keep an eye out for the exceptionally good compost activators that I come across. These can be very handy if you keep big compost piles, because they help your compost heat up and finish faster.

To be totally honest, some of the best things I’ve found aren’t actually free. I keep a bag of cottonseed meal fertilizer on hand just so that I can kick a slow pile of compost into gear, or finish a pile up quickly for an upcoming planting.

But you don’t have to spend any money at all if you don’t want to. Here are 5 compost activators that are free for the asking (if you ask the right person).

COVID Doctor Who Left Hospital Job Has a Vision for Health Care

Before the COVID pandemic, Dr. Paul Marik became well-known for his development of a highly effective sepsis protocol using intravenous vitamin C, which resulted in a dramatic reduction in mortality rates

In 2020, he cofounded the Front Line COVID-19 Critical Care Alliance (FLCCC) and subsequently published one of the most comprehensive and effective protocols for treating COVID-19, called MATH+

While COVID mortality in Marik’s ICU was half that of his peers, the hospital banned the protocol from being used

Marik sued to get MATH+ reinstated, at which point he was put through a sham peer review. The hospital levied fabricated charges against him and his hospital privileges were immediately suspended

After Marik’s long tenure with numerous accolades, the hospital reported him to the National Practitioner Data Bank, which makes it near-impossible to get a medical license again in any state. This effectively ended his clinical career. However, Marik is taking a new route. Having discovered the falsehoods that conventional medicine has been built upon, he’s now researching and developing health protocols using lifestyle modification, diet and repurposed drugs

The Great COVID-19 Vaccine Bribe “COVID-19 Vaccine Provider Incentive Program”

By JOHN LEAKE

Many readers of this Substack have doubtless wondered why their “healthcare providers”—i.e., doctors, repeatedly exhorted them to get the COVID-19 vaccines and boosters. In my extended social circle, I heard many reports of doctors being downright pushy about it—as though getting the COVID-19 vaccine was the single most pressing matter of medicine and health.

How Jimmy Dore Broke Out of the Propaganda Matrix

Comedian Jimmy Dore initially got caught up in the propaganda and believed the COVID jab would be a good strategy. He took the shot and suffered severe side effects from it. Dore quickly put two and two together and realized he’d been duped. The shot was nowhere near as safe (or effective) as they claimed

After that realization, Dore started seeing through other propaganda narratives as well

Dore realized the medical establishment lied not only about ivermectin, but also about hydroxychloroquine and early treatments. They lied about herd immunity and natural immunity. They lied about masks. They lied when they said the COVID jab prevents transmission and could end the pandemic. They lied about the safety of the shots, and about the seriousness of the virus itself too

During the Omicron wave, Dore got COVID three times, and it was “the mildest cold” he’d ever had in his life. Unfortunately, he made a second mistake. He took Paxlovid, and got COVID again. That Paxlovid makes you prone to reinfection is now also an established fact

Dore warns that the entire government is corrupt. Corruption has been integrated into every part of the government, and every system used to run it
