Knowledge is Power

Today’s News: August 09, 2023

Today’s Top 5:

1.Judge Demands Special Counsel Explain Why He Used DC Grand Jury in Trump Documents Case

Florida-based federal Judge Aileen Cannon has asked the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) to justify its continued use of a District of Columbia grand jury in hopes of adding charges in the case against former President Donald Trump regarding his handling of classified government records at his Florida home.

Using the work of a grand jury in one jurisdiction to indict a defendant out of state isn’t necessarily unconstitutional, but it is unusual, a legal expert told The Epoch Times.

The records case is being heard in the judge’s courtroom in Fort Pierce, Florida.

2.Massachusetts Governor Declares Emergency Over Influx of Immigrants

The governor of Massachusetts on Aug. 8 declared an emergency over the influx of immigrants, a number of whom are in the country illegally.

Gov. Maura Healey said that the state’s shelter system is nearing a breaking point due to “rapidly rising numbers” of immigrants, even after the creation of new emergency sites at places like Joint Base Cape Cod to try to handle the increase.

“Demand has increased to levels that our emergency shelter system cannot keep up with, especially as the number of families leaving shelter has dwindled due to a lack of affordable housing options and barriers to securing work,” Ms. Healey, a Democrat, said in a statement.

3.DeSantis Replaces Campaign Manager in Shakeup

In a third major reshuffling, 2024 hopeful Ron Desantis has replaced his campaign manager Generra Peck amid a lukewarm campaign performance and threats by donors to cut off funding.

James Uthmeier, who served as chief of staff in Mr. DeSantis’ governor’s office, will be taking over, according to the announcement Tuesday. Ms. Peck will handle the duties of chief strategist moving forward.

“James Uthmeier has been one of Governor DeSantis’ top advisors for years and he is needed where it matters most: working hand in hand with Generra Peck and the rest of the team to put the governor in the best possible position to win this primary and defeat Joe Biden,” said Andrew Romeo, DeSantis’s communications director.

4.CRIMERidiculous: Police Investigating Shop Owner Who Took Down Armed Thief With A Stick

Just when it appeared that a law abiding business owner had scored a victory against a scumbag shoplifter for once by subduing him with an almighty thrashing, the police have stepped in to criminally investigate the shopkeeper for assault.

Yes really.

KCRA.com reports that the clerk at a 7-Eleven in Stockton, Northern California, who was captured on video taking down a man threatening to pull a gun and filling up a barrel full of products is now the one under investigation by the cops.

The would be thief had visited the store three times on the evening in question, each time threatening the shop keepers and stealing from them.

On the third attempt he got what was coming to him.

5.Joe Biden links Grand Canyon national monument to fight against climate change – as it happened

Biden moves to protect Grand Canyon from uranium mining

Joe Biden is spending today in Arizona, where at 2pm eastern time he will announce that he is designating about one million acres around the Grand Canyon as a national monument, which will also protect it from uranium mining.

WORLD NEWS

Did Russian President Vladimir Putin Ban 5G Technology In Russia?

A claim has been circulating on social media that Russian President Vladimir Putin has banned 5G cellular technology and ordered the destruction of existing 5G towers in Russia due to safety concerns. However, this claim originated from a satirical website and should not be taken seriously.

In reality, Russia is actually working to expand 5G access and reduce the technology gap caused by the retreat of western telecom technology after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in 2022. Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin has expressed plans for “technological sovereignty,” which includes the development of Russian-made 5G base stations.

Furthermore, Andrey Zarenin, the deputy minister of digital development, telecommunications, and mass media of the Russian Federation, discussed the progress of 5G technology at a telecom conference.

In conclusion, the claim that Putin banned 5G technology in Russia is false. Russia is actively working on expanding 5G access and reducing dependence on foreign telecom equipment. This claim originated from a satirical website and should not be taken seriously.

UK developing vaccines for next pandemic

Scientists in a British high-security laboratory are developing vaccines for a new pandemic involving “Disease X.”

Disease X is a term created by the World Health Organization (WHO) to refer to an unknown virus. The pathogen has yet to be determined, but Sky News reports that the top candidates for Disease X are avian flu, monkeypox, hantavirus and Crimean-Congo haemorrhagic fever (CCHF). Scientists at the Porton Down Vaccine Development and Evaluation Centre in Wiltshire are developing vaccines for all.

But whereas the COVID-19 injections were developed in less than a year, Sky News reports there is a “global effort” to develop a vaccine for the next pandemic within only 100 days.

‘Crooked’ Lawyers Who Aid Illegal Migrants Cheat Asylum System to Face Life Sentences

Home Secretary Suella Braverman has announced a crackdown on “crooked” lawyers who help illegal migrants game the British asylum system, saying that such unscrupulous attorneys will face “life sentences”.

In the wake of reports that pro-mass migration lawyers coached illegals on how to fraudulently increase their chances of being granted asylum, including making up fake backstories of horrors in their homelands to even making up false claims of being homosexual and leaving their country over fears of persecution, Home Secretary Suella Braverman said that the government has created a new taskforce to crackdown on such activities.

Report: Biden to Ask for Another Ukraine Aid Package ‘North of $10 Billion’

President Joe Biden will soon ask Congress for a Ukraine aid package that could exceed $10 billion, a report released Tuesday found.

Punchbowl News reported the Ukraine aid battle will resume when Congress returns from recess. The incoming request, which could be “north of $10 billion,” follows as Ukraine continues its slow-moving counteroffensive against Russia, and America and other NATO countries have pledged support for Ukraine.

Resistance Isn’t Futile: The Global Rejection Of CBDCs

This insightful article only misses the key point that Central Banks are privately owned and not government institutions. There are only 214 central banks in the world, each serving only one client, that is, the host nation. The CBDC steamroller emanates from the central bank for central banks, the Bank for International Settlements in Basel, Switzerland.

Together, these Central Banks make up the giant vampire squid that is trying to take over the entire world and everything in it. These are the source of the WEF’s Great Reset, aka Technocracy. Deeply in debt to their central bank, nations now take marching orders from the central bank creditors, lest they be forced into bankruptcy and the seizure of their assets.

Central Bank Gold Demand Soars To New All-Time High

The largest gold holdings of the top six Central Banks in the world are, in tonnes: US (6,133), Germany (3,352), Italy (2,451), France (2,436), Russian Federation (2,329) and China (2,113). The UK only has 310 tonnes of gold but China is expected to keep another 2-3,000 tonnes of gold off its official books, potentially making it the largest holder in the world.

What does this mean? Gold is not dead. Central banks love gold and are positioning for a post-capitalist, post-Great Reset world. All told, Central Banks hold more than 35,000 tonnes, or about one fifth of all the gold ever mined.

I have stated many times that modern globalization is a giant resource grab at the expense of fiat currencies, which are mathematically guaranteed to collapse at some point. Gold is a resource. So is real estate, forests, nature preserves, Heritage Zones, farm land, etc. That Central Banks are flexing their muscle with massive gold acquisitions only underscores that they are the white-hot center of globalization. See Chapter 9 in my recent book, The Evil Twins of Technocracy and Transhumanism.

China’s Imports and Exports Plunge Beneath Expectations in July

China’s faltering economy took another beating in July, as both import and export numbers came far below expectations. Imports fell 12.4 percent instead of the five-percent slide that was expected, while exports dropped 14.5 percent against an expected 12.5 percent.

“The grim trade numbers reinforce expectations that economic activity could slow further in the third quarter, with construction, manufacturing and services activity, foreign direct investment, and industrial profits all weakening,” Reuters observed on Tuesday.

The Chinese economy is heavily dependent on exports, and the 14.5-percent drop in July was the worst setback China has suffered since the beginning of the Wuhan coronavirus pandemic in 2020. Analysts said this was partially due to weaker consumer spending in some of China’s biggest foreign customers, who are facing significant economic slowdowns of their own.

U.S. NEWS, POLITICS & GOVERNMENT

America Last: Biden’s Billions for Ukraine Could Have Built a Wall Two Times Across U.S.-Mexico Border

President Joe Biden, with help from Congress, has sent more than $66 billion in American taxpayer money to Ukraine since the start of its war with Russia—an allocation of money that could have built a border wall nearly two times across the United States-Mexico border.

Since the start of the war in 2022, Congress has approved more than $113 billion in aid for Ukraine, and Biden is expected to ask for another $10 billion aid package when Congress returns from recess. Since 2022, the United States has given more foreign aid to Ukraine than to any other country in the world, according to a Washington Post analysis. The bulk of the allotted aid has gone to military contractors making weapons and equipment for Ukraine while the rest has been used to supplement Ukraine’s national budget and provide humanitarian relief.

EXCLUSIVE: Security Video Challenges the Narrative on First Man to Die at Capitol on Jan. 6

The first of four supporters of President Donald Trump to die on Jan. 6, 2021, received emergency medical care away from the fast-growing crowd on the U.S. Capitol’s west plaza—before any explosive munitions were used by police—new security video reveals.

Capitol Police closed-circuit-television (CCTV) footage obtained by The Epoch Times calls into question the popular narrative that Benjamin James Philips was struck by a police munition before he collapsed from a fatal cardiac event.

Mr. Philips, 50, of Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania, had organized a busload of area residents to travel to Washington for Mr. Trump’s speech at the Ellipse. He followed the bus in a van.

He got separated from the group when he drove away to search for parking. He got as far as the U.S. Capitol that day but never made it back home.

It has long been contended that Mr. Philips’s death was related to police riot munitions. A popular version of the story is that he was in the thick of the quickly expanding crowd on the west plaza beneath the inauguration stage when he was struck by an explosive munition tossed or shot by police.

Court Records Show Hunter Biden Received Millions From China, CCP Affiliates

Court records from Hunter Biden’s imperiled plea deal with the Department of Justice (DOJ) divulge details on more than $2.6 million the first son received from China and affiliates of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).

Earlier, the DOJ announced a plea agreement with Mr. Biden, President Joe Biden’s son, whereby he would plead guilty to two misdemeanor tax crimes and would have a felony gun charge diverted.

During a July 26 hearing on his plea deal with the DOJ, Mr. Hunter Biden admitted to having received money from the Chinese energy firm CEFC. In exhibit 1 of his plea agreement, prosecutors went more in-depth on transactions between the first son, Chinese companies, and CCP affiliates.

Income received from such sources is listed as at least $2.6 million in all, however the total is likely substantially higher due to the combined way some of his income was listed in the document. Mr. Hunter Biden’s total income from foreign companies between 2017 and 2018 is confirmed by the sworn statement to have totaled roughly $4.9 million, in addition to $1 million in legal services for a CCP-affiliated Chinese national.

The Coming Death Throes Of Capitalism And Free Market Economics

Technocracy cannot flourish until capitalism and free market economics die a permanent death. Thus, there is an unprecedented moral hazard to give Humpty Dumpty a good push off the wall. The Great Reset, Sustainable Development, Green New Deal, etc., are all positioned to destroy our prevailing economic system.

This article provides some economic markers that show the internal economic rot that is being disguised by propaganda and false news from governments and Technocrats alike.

Mitch McConnell Urges House Republicans to Avoid Biden Impeachment

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) has urged House Republicans to avoid impeaching President Joe Biden.

Speaking to the New York Times in an interview published Tuesday, McConnell said that he does not want to continue the impeachment cycle that Democrats started two years ago when they impeached former President Trump on dubious charges.

Voters in Ohio reject GOP-backed proposal that would have made it tougher to protect abortion rights

Ohio voters on Tuesday resoundingly rejected a Republican-backed measure that would have made it more difficult to change the state’s constitution, setting up a fall campaign that will become the nation’s latest referendum on abortion rights since the U.S. Supreme Court overturned nationwide protections last year.

The defeat of Issue 1 keeps in place a simple majority threshold for passing future constitutional amendments, rather than the 60% supermajority that was proposed. Its supporters said the higher bar would protect the state’s foundational document from outside interest groups.

2ND AMENDMENT

This Administration is Coming for More Than Just Firearms
The Biden administration recently confirmed that it is withholding federal funding from elementary and secondary schools that have hunting or archery programs. The administration claims it is doing this under the cover of its interpretation of the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act (BSCA), legislation the NRA opposed.

This decision is expected to impact thousands of schools and millions of American students. What’s more is that this maneuver is yet another example of the Biden administration’s willingness to spin legislation as it sees fit in pursuit of its agenda.

Gun-Controlled Washington, DC, on Pace for Deadliest Year in 2 Decades

Gun-controlled, Democrat-run Washington, DC, is witnessing a surge in murders that is putting it on pace to record its deadliest year in two decades.

Three homicides over the weekend brought the city’s total for this year to 161, which represents “a 28 percent increase over this time in 2022,” the Washington Post noted.

Supreme court reinstates Biden’s ‘ghost gun’ restrictions for now

Federal regulation aims to reining in privately made firearms that are difficult for law enforcement to trace

The US supreme court on Tuesday granted a request by President Joe Biden’s administration to reinstate – at least for now – a federal regulation aimed at reining in privately made firearms called “ghost guns” that are difficult for law enforcement to trace.

The justices put on hold a 5 July decision by US district judge Reed O’Connor in Fort Worth, Texas, that had blocked the 2022 rule nationwide pending the administration’s appeal. O’Connor found that the administration exceeded its authority under a 1968 federal law called the Gun Control Act in implementing the rule relating to ghost guns, firearms that are privately assembled and lack the usual serial numbers required by the federal government.

ECONOMY & BUSINESS

Anheuser-Busch’s Collapse Continues as It’s Forced to Sell Off Some of Its Brands

Anheuser-Busch’s downfall has been a brutal lesson to corporations about how the people have had it with woke culture engagement. Especially when it comes to being a brand that claimed to represent the heart of America and its values.

Now, A-B is apparently being forced to sell off a few of its brands in order to stay afloat. These include Shock Top, Breckenridge Brewery, Blue Point Brewing Company, 10 Barrel Brewing Company, Redhook Brewery, Widmer Brothers Brewing, Square Mile Cider Company, and Hiball Energy. All of these are craft beers, meaning that A-B is cutting a solid chunk off of its craft beer portfolio.

One company is buying all of these brands, a Canadian company called Tilray Brands. Tilray posted a small video on X announcing the purchase.

Porsche Rebuked for Erasing Jesus Statue From New Promo Video

Luxury sportscar maker Porsche has come under fire for reportedly editing out a famous statue of Jesus Christ in a new promotional video celebrating 60 years of its iconic 911 model.

The original ad, which was filmed in Portugal, is no longer available to watch on YouTube after the German automaker took the video private. A new video has since replaced the original ad, showing the Cristo Rei (Christ the King) statue about 44 seconds into the clip.

Although the original ad is no longer available on YouTube, one X user saved the video. In the two-minute ad, a red Porsche 911 speeds past the Cristo Rei, but it shows only the statue’s pedestal and not the actual figure of Christ.

Report: More Fathers Becoming Stay-at-Home Parents

The share of fathers taking up the role of stay-at-home dads has increased by several points since the late 1980s, data analysis by Pew Research Center shows.

Pew Research Center senior researcher Richard Fry found that between 1989 and 2021, the share of fathers who were not working increased from four percent to seven percent, ultimately coinciding with an increase in stay-at-home dads within that same period. Fry conducted his analysis using the Annual Social and Economic Supplement (ASEC) of the Current Population Survey (CPS), a poll administered by the U.S. Census Bureau and the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

Americans Inch Closer to Debt Level ‘Breaking Point’ as Household Borrowing Tops $17 Trillion

With Federal Reserve data showing household debt climbing above $17 trillion, the average American household is just over $14,000 away from reaching a “breaking point” at which it will be unable to continue paying off loans, according to a study by WalletHub.

The New York Federal Reserve reported on Aug. 8 that overall household debt ticked up by $16 billion in the second quarter, or 0.1 percent, to $17.06 trillion.

An analysis of the Fed data by WalletHub showed that, at the end of the second quarter, the average U.S. household owed a total of $143,762. That’s a little over $14,000 below WalletHub’s projected breaking point for household finances, which is a point at which people can’t keep up with paying their bills.

“Based on our analysis of debt during the Great Recession, the average household is about $14,339 away from truly having to worry about defaulting,” Jill Gonzalez, WalletHub analyst, told The Epoch Times in an emailed statement.

Bidenomics: Small Business Outlook Remains Dismal For 19th Straight Month

The Biden White House has been struggling to get the American public to buy into its positive spin on the economy, which it has dubbed Bidenomics. On Tuesday, a survey of small businesses indicated why that is such a hard sell.

Small business owners have a “dismal” outlook about sales growth and business conditions, said Bill Dunkelberg, the chief economist at the National Federation of Independent Business. The NFIB’s small business optimism index came in at 91.9 for July, up 0.9 points from the prior month but well below the index’s 49-year average of 98.

Tesla Spontaneously Ignites in Sacramento, Firefighters Call Out Elon Musk on His Own Platform

A Tesla vehicle spontaneously burst into flames in a high-end auto yard in Rancho Cordova, California, prompting local firefighters to criticize Tesla CEO Elon Musk on his own social media platform.

FOX KTVU reports that a Tesla vehicle spontaneously combusted in a high-end auto yard in Rancho Cordova, Sacramento County. The vehicle, which had been salvaged from flooding in Florida, had been sitting idle in the yard for several months when it caught fire last week. Breitbart News has reported extensively on how Florida’s massive floods turned Elon Musk’s electric vehicles into ticking time bombs.

Author discovers AI-generated counterfeit books written in her name on Amazon

Amazon resisted a removal request, citing lack of “trademark registration numbers.”

Upon searching Amazon and Goodreads, author Jane Friedman recently discovered a half-dozen listings of fraudulent books using her name, likely filled with either junk or AI-generated content. Both Amazon and Goodreads resisted removing the faux titles until the author’s complaints went viral on social media.

“Whoever’s doing this is obviously preying on writers who trust my name and think I’ve actually written these books,” she wrote. “I have not. Most likely they’ve been generated by AI.”

It’s a rising problem in a world where scammers game Amazon’s algorithm to make a quick buck on fraudulent sales. In February, Reuters did a profile on authors using ChatGPT to write e-books, selling them through Amazon. In June, Vice reported on an influx of dozens of AI-generated books full of nonsense that took over Kindle bestseller lists.

Biden-backed electric vehicle company files for bankruptcy

President Biden frequently extolled an electric vehicle company — in which his energy secretary heavily invested — before it declared bankruptcy on Monday.

Bay Area-based electric bus and battery maker Proterra filed for Chapter 11, with CEO Gareth Joyce citing “various market and macroeconomic headwinds that have impacted our ability to efficiently scale.”

The EV firm, which sold more than 1,300 electric buses to public transit systems in the US and Canada, was valued at $1.6 billion when Biden, 80, took office in January 2021 — but closed with a market value of $362 million, according to Reuters.

In 2021, the president pledged more than $10 billion from his $1.9 trillion bipartisan infrastructure plan toward zero-emission transit and school bus programs.

He has promoted Proterra several times since taking office, and once virtually toured a facility.

We Should Be Alarmed by the Staggering Decline of Birds

Worldwide, 1 in 8 bird species is at risk of extinction

Another 223 bird species are critically endangered and could disappear from the planet

A net loss of 2.9 billion birds, or 29%, occurred in the U.S. and Canada since 1970

Industrial agriculture, with its rapid expansion and use of toxic chemicals, is driving bird losses the world over and represents the greatest threat to birds

Birds are a crucial element of our ecosystem, controlling pests, spreading seeds and pollinating about 5% of plants that humans use for food and medicine

HEALTH

Misuse of Aspirin Increases Anemia Risk by 20% in Older Adults

Among the seemingly innocuous over-the-counter drugs many people reach for—sometimes daily—without thinking about possible adverse side effects, is aspirin.

Aspirin (acetylsalicylic acid) is commonly used to alleviate pain and inflammation. Daily low-dose aspirin has been advocated to reduce blood viscosity and prevent heart disease and strokes in high-risk individuals. However, it is frequently misused, with many people taking aspirin when unnecessary.

Iodine Deficiency Linked to Increased Cancer Risk, Thyroid Disease

The rising incidence of cancer is linked to widespread iodine deficiency in the US, according to Dr. Brownstein

Although it’s well established that iodine is necessary for thyroid hormone production, its therapeutic benefits extend far beyond that.

Iodine is present in every cell of our bodies and has antibacterial, antiviral, anti-parasitic, and anti-cancer properties and is required for proper immune function. It’s also vital for the normal architecture of essential glandular tissues such as the breasts, ovaries, uterus, pancreas, and prostate.

Testing for and treating iodine deficiency should, therefore, be a top priority to avoid serious complications, according to Dr. David Brownstein, a family physician and the medical director of the Center for Holistic Medicine in West Bloomfield, Michigan.

Florida man gets unexplained leprosy case; doctors suspect local soil\

Leprosy is not very contagious, and the CDC has not issued a travel advisory.

A Florida man’s unexplained case of leprosy last year adds to mounting evidence that the rare and often misunderstood bacterial infection has become endemic to the central part of the Sunshine State—and that it may, in fact, lurk in the environment there, possibly in the soil.

In a research letter appearing in the August issue of Emerging Infectious Diseases, three dermatologists detailed the man’s case and their concerns for local transmission. They note that the 54-year-old man, like several others in the state who contracted the disease, reported no established risk factors that might explain their infection. He hadn’t traveled abroad, where he could have picked up the infection, or had any exposure to armadillos, which live in Florida and naturally carry the bacteria that cause leprosy. He also didn’t have any prolonged contact with people from leprosy-endemic countries or connections to anyone known to have leprosy.

Video: Unvaccinated Should Check This Out–It’s Highly Unexpected

In a shocking development, a new peer-reviewed study found that people vaccinated with the mRNA-based covid vaccines can transmit antibodies to unvaccinated individuals through aerosols. Meaning, they can transmit these antibodies through the air that we breathe.

Furthermore, despite this being a new development (in a study that was only published recently) it appears that Pfizer knew about the possibility of this method of transmission being a thing.

That’s because, in Pfizer documents (that were only released due to a Freedom of Information Act request) it turns out that all the way back in the year 2020, when they were still running their clinical trials, Pfizer made a special point to mention that women who are exposed to the vaccine through either inhalation or skin contact should be treated as having “exposed.”

Group Attacking Mercola Sued by Elon Musk

One of the most influential instruments used to suppress the First Amendment right to free speech in the U.S. was the Center for Countering Digital Hate’s (CCDH) “Disinformation Dozen” report, published March 24, 2021

The CCDH was a tiny, never-before-heard-of U.K.-based group with undisclosed funding, whose board members had unambiguous ties to the military-intelligence-industrial complex

AntiVaxWatch.org, a simple news aggregator with no listed employees or funding, sponsored the report. The creator of AntiVaxWatch is Brandon Hill, cofounder of Be the Change, which connects it to Eric Kessler of Arabella Advisors, a large, well-known dark money network that supports progressive causes with untraceable funds

In a June 1, 2023, report, the CCDH accused Twitter of failing to censor 99% of hate posted by Twitter Blue-subscribed accounts. According to Elon Musk, the CCDH’s claims are “false, misleading, or both, and they are not supported by anything that could credibly be called research”

July 31, 2023, Twitter, now renamed X Corp, filed a lawsuit against the CCDH, arguing the CCDH is “actively working to prevent free expression” and spreading “troubling and baseless claims that appear calculated to harm Twitter generally, and its digital advertising business specifically.” Musk also wants to know who funds the CCDH’s fabrications

75 More Catholic Schools Nationwide Say They Are Shutting Down

At least 75 more Catholic schools across the nation have announced they are closing their doors for good, with many breaking the news to families in just the past few weeks.

Most of the closures have been in major cities like Philadelphia, Boston, and Cincinnati.

In New York City alone, the Catholic Archdiocese of New York closed 12 schools as of the end of the academic year, laying the blame on “shifting demographics and lower enrollment, exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic.”

Some of the schools that are now permanently closed were considered legendary.

Want Fries with That? Beyond Meat’s Sales Plunge as Consumers Reject Vegan Alternative

Vegan food maker Beyond Meat has seen its sales crash by almost a third as consumers reject its hyper-processed, plant-based products despite substantial price cuts and claims its customers can “positively affect the planet.”

The El Segundo, California-based meat substitute maker says net revenues fell by 30.5 percent for the three months to the end of June, compared to a year earlier, while shares of the company fell by almost 12 percent in extended trading in New York.

Indoctrination, Intimidation & Intolerance: What Passes for Education Today

This is what it means to go back-to-school in America today.

Instead of being taught the three R’s of education (reading, writing and arithmetic), young people are being drilled in the three I’s of life in the American police state: indoctrination, intimidation and intolerance.

Indeed, while young people today are learning first-hand what it means to be at the epicenter of politically charged culture wars, test scores indicate that students are not learning how to succeed in social studies, math and reading.

Instead of raising up a generation of civic-minded citizens with critical thinking skills, government officials are churning out compliant drones who know little to nothing about their history or their freedoms.

Under the direction of government officials focused on making the schools more authoritarian (sold to parents as a bid to make the schools safer), young people in America are now first in line to be searched, surveilled, spied on, threatened, tied up, locked down, treated like criminals for non-criminal behavior, tasered and in some cases shot.
