Cuomo resigns following finding he sexually harassed 11 women

Yahoo – As more women came forward detailing their claims against the governor, Cuomo had repeatedly claimed his innocence, stating that his touching and kissing represented a generational and cultural divide between him and his accusers. In a much-maligned video statement released after James’ press conference, Cuomo portrayed himself as a misunderstood champion for sexual harassment victims. He also released numerous photos showing other politicians touching people, including one of former President Barack Obama hugging a Hurricane Sandy Victim.

At the Tuesday press conference, Cuomo continued to remain defiant against the claims. “My instinct is to fight through this controversy because I truly believe that it is politically motivated. I believe it is unfair and it is untruthful.”

“In my mind, I’ve never crossed the line with anyone but I didn’t realize the extent to which the line has been redrawn. There are generational and cultural shifts that I just didn’t fully appreciate and I should have — no excuses,” he continued.

Even as he shifted tone, getting teary-eyed before announcing his resignation, Cuomo did not admit any wrongdoing. “Wasting energy on distractions is the last thing state government should be doing and I cannot be the cause of that,” he said, calling his controversy a “distraction” against government functions.

Prosecutors in Manhattan and Albany have already opened criminal investigations into the governor, and at least three counties have asked James’ office for material as they pursue their own inquiries.

Papers Please: Paris Police Patrol Cafes for Vaccine Passports

Breitbart – French President Emmanuel Macron’s controversial and dystopian vaccine passport system came into effect on Monday, with police patrolling the streets and cafes of Paris, demanding citizens present health papers.

The vaccine passport or ‘pass sanitaire’ in French has now become a requirement for much of life in France, effectively creating a two-tiered society in which those who have been vaccinated will be granted more liberties if they can present their papers.

Pentagon will require Covid vaccines for members of the military by mid-September

NBC – The Pentagon will mandate the Covid-19 vaccine for members of the military by no later than mid-September, according to a new memo from Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin.

The deadline could be pushed up if the Food and Drug Administration gives final approval to the Pfizer vaccine, which is expected early next month. The military will have the next few weeks “preparing for this transition,” Austin said.

Dominion files yet more billion-dollar lawsuits over election fraud claims, this time targeting Newsmax & OAN

RT – Dominion Voting Systems has filed defamation suits against conservative networks Newsmax and OAN, as well as Overstock founder Patrick Byrne, over claims made about the 2020 presidential election.

Dominion has previously targeted vocal supporters of Donald Trump like MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell, lawyer Sidney Powell, and former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, blaming all of them for conspiracy theories involving Dominion Voting Systems machines being manipulated in one way or another to rig the election in Joe Biden’s favor. Dominion has also filed a suit against Fox News. There has yet to be any official proof of widespread fraud in the election, despite continued claims by Trump and others.

Newsmax and OAN, Dominion claims in its $1.6 billion defamation suits, “helped create and cultivate an alternate reality where up is down, pigs have wings, and Dominion engaged in a colossal fraud to steal the presidency from Donald Trump by rigging the vote.” OAN anchors Chanel Rion and Christina Bobb were specifically listed in the suit against the network.

Oregon governor signs bill removing reading, writing, & math requirements for high school kids, to help ‘students of color’

RT – Oregon Governor Kate Brown quietly signed a bill last month that removed the requirement for graduating high school children in the state to be proficient in reading, writing, and math, in an effort to aid “students of color.”

Brown signed Senate Bill 744 on July 14, but did not issue a press release or hold a ceremony to mark the occasion, instead opting to pass the bill into law as quietly as possible, according to the Oregonian. The bill also wasn’t entered into a legislative database until two weeks after its signing – an abnormality, as bills are typically entered on the same day.

Though Brown was quiet about the bill, the governor’s deputy communications director, Charles Boyle, told the Oregonian that suspending the reading, writing, and math proficiency requirements would benefit “students of color” while the state comes up with a new set of “equitable” graduation standards.

Until then, the suspension will apparently help those who are “Black, Latino, Latina, Latinx, Indigenous, Asian, Pacific Islander, [or] Tribal.”

‘They Can’t Arrest All of Us’—Rand Paul Calls for Resistance to COVID Tyranny

Free Thought Project – In a rather daring move, Senator Rand Paul released a video this week calling on Americans to resist any further tyranny by the government in regard to COVID-19. In his nearly 4-minute rant, Paul noted that if enough Americans resist the largely ineffective but extraordinarily tyrannical lockdown measures being rolled out again that it would be too much for the “petty tyrants and bureaucrats” to handle — thereby forcing them to drop the measures.

“We are at a moment of truth and a crossroads. Will we allow these people to use fear and propaganda to do further harm to our society, economy, and children? Or will we stand together and say, absolutely not. Not this time. I choose freedom,” Paul wrote in a message along with his video.

“It’s time for us to resist. They can’t arrest all of us,” Paul said in the video. “They can’t keep all of your kids home from school. They can’t keep every government building closed, although I’ve got a long list of ones they might keep closed or ought to keep closed.”

He continued, “We don’t have to accept the mandates, lockdowns, and harmful policies of the petty tyrants and bureaucrats. We can simply say no, not again.”

Paul, who is a practicing ophthalmologist is following in his father Ron Paul’s footsteps and paving the way for a new road to liberty. In his speech, he specifically called out House Speaker Nancy Pelosi — who was known to flout her own lockdown measures — saying, “Nancy Pelosi — you will not arrest or stop me or anyone on my staff from doing our jobs. We have either had COVID, had the vaccine, or been offered the vaccine. We will make our own health choices.”

Paul further declared that “We will not show you a passport, we will not wear a mask, we will not be forced into random screenings and testings so you can continue your drunk-with-power rein over the Capitol.”

National Security Agency Watchdog to Review Spying Allegations Concerning Tucker Carlson

Market Watch – The National Security Agency’s internal watchdog is conducting a review of recent allegations made by Fox News host Tucker Carlson that the spy agency had improperly targeted his communications for surveillance, the agency and an official said.

The announcement of the review by the NSA’s inspector general doesn’t mention Mr. Carlson by name, but instead refers to a member of the U.S. news media. A person familiar with the matter said the review concerns Mr. Carlson.

The review “is examining NSA’s compliance with applicable legal authorities and agency policies and procedures regarding collection, analysis, reporting, and dissemination activities, including unmasking procedures, and whether any such actions were based upon improper considerations,” NSA Inspector General Robert Storch said in a brief statement.

Twitter Suspends Marjorie Taylor Greene for One Week

Breitbart – Twitter has once again suspended Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) from its platform, this time hitting her with a one-week ban for coronavirus “misinformation.” Twitter has repeatedly censored Greene and appears to be headed towards a permanent blacklisting of her account.

Democrats unveil $3.5T budget focused on social, climate reforms

CS Monitor – Senate Democrats unveiled a budget resolution Monday that maps $3.5 trillion in spending boosts and tax breaks aimed at strengthening social and environmental programs, setting up an autumn battle over President Joe Biden’s domestic policy ambitions.

The measure lays the groundwork for legislation later this year that over a decade would pour mountains of federal resources into their top priorities. Included would be more money for health care, education, family services, and environmental programs, as well as tax breaks for families, with much of it paid for with tax increases on the rich and corporations.

The budget’s introduction marks the start of a long legislative trek through Congress that Democrats hope will result this fall in a progressive reshaping of government. To succeed, they’ll have to overcome likely unanimous Republican opposition and find the sweet spot between the demands of their own often antagonist progressive and moderate factions.

Amish Farm Fined $250K, Facing Jail Time for Humanely Raising and Selling Food to Willing Customers

Free Thought Project – Bird-in-Hand, PA — Amos Miller and his family has been running Miller’s Organic Farm for over a century, providing willing and highly satisfied customers with milk, chicken, beef, and eggs. All of the food coming from Miller’s farm is beyond organic, humanely raised in a non-factory setting and the animals treated with dignity as they spend their entire lives naturally and stress-free out on pasture. By any moral standard, Miller’s farm is the leading example of what farming in America should look like.

Unfortunately, because Miller uses humane techniques and treats his animals well, this has put a government target on his back. Recently, federal Judge Edward G. Smith, imposed sanctions on his farm, ordering the family farm to pay over $250,000 in fines or go to jail. Because the Millers don’t use the USDA factory farm methods, this makes them non-compliant and thus an enemy of the state.

“In order to effect defendants’ future compliance, by making them aware of the seriousness of their violations and the consequences for future violations, defendants are ordered to pay to the United States, within 30 days of the date of entry of this Order — and pursuant to written instructions that the United States will provide to defendants—a fine of $250,000, or face further monetary and other penalties, possibly including imprisonment of Amos Miller,” the order says.

“Smith also ordered Miller to reimburse USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) for its enforcement costs, totaling $14,436.26. Miller has 60 days to make the reimbursement,” according to Food Safety News.

According to the USDA, the farm is not complying with USDA regulations on how to label and process their food. But Amos says the methods which they use pre-date the USDA and the farm and its members have a right to free assembly and the right to choose how their food is processed without the USDA dictating to them on how to do it.

To be clear, not a single one of the farm’s customers has filed a complaint. The USDA is unilaterally going after the farm for failing to use their approved slaughter houses which stress and harm the animals before they are killed. Even if an animal is pasture raised and cared for, the USDA requires it be loaded into a truck and hauled to one of its approved slaughter houses where it spends its last moments alive surrounded by death and corralled into tiny pens with other animals before being killed by a person who never raised it.
