Some Covid restrictions could remain in place until ALL adults receive vaccine, UK health official says
RT – A senior British health official has warned that it’s too soon to talk about summer plans, predicting that some of the country’s coronavirus measures will likely stay in place until the entire adult population is vaccinated.
Dr. Susan Hopkins, Public Health England’s Covid-19 strategic response director, told Sky News that it was “difficult to say” what kind of rules might be in place in the coming months. However, she noted that when people go on holiday, they tend to “drop their guard a bit” and “mingle in groups.” Hopkins said that such gatherings would likely spread the virus and exacerbate the health crisis.
So I think we are going to have to have some measures in place until the whole population is vaccinated, at least all of the adult population.
Hopkins added that injecting every adult in the country may not even be enough to confidently lift restrictions. She claimed that more needs to be known about how the disease is transmitted before the government can “release everything” and allow people to “get back to life as it was.”

The widely-praised German model of the Angela Merkel regime to deal with the COVID-19 pandemic is now engulfed in a series of potentially devastating scandals going to the very heart of the testing and medical advice being used to declare draconian economic shutdowns and next, de facto mandatory vaccinations. The scandals involve a professor at the heart of Merkel’s corona advisory group. The implications go far beyond German borders to the very WHO itself and their global recommendations.
The entire case for WHO-mandated emergency lockdown of businesses, schools, churches and other social arenas worldwide is based on a test introduced, amazingly early on, in the Wuhan, China coronavirus saga.
On January 23, 2020, in the scientific journal Eurosurveillance, of the EU Center for Disease Prevention and Control, Dr. Christian Drosten, along with several colleagues from the Berlin Virology Institute at Charite Hospital, along with the head of a small Berlin biotech company, TIB Molbiol Syntheselabor GmbH, published a study claiming to have developed the first effective test for detecting whether someone is infected with the novel coronavirus identified first only days before in Wuhan. The Drosten article was titled, “Detection of 2019 novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) by real-time RT-PCR” (Eurosurveillance 25(8) 2020).
The news was greeted with immediate endorsement by the corrupt Director General of WHO, Tedros Adhanom, the first non-medical doctor to head WHO. Since then the Drosten-backed test for the virus, called a real-time or RT-PCR test, has spread via WHO worldwide, as the most used test protocol to determine if a person might have COVID-19, the illness.
On November 27 a highly-respected group of 23 international virologists, microbiologists and related scientists published a call for Eurosurveillance to retract the January 23, 2020 Drosten article. Their careful analysis of the original piece is damning. Theirs is a genuine “peer review.”
They accuse Drosten and cohorts of “fatal” scientific incompetence and flaws in promoting their test.
To begin with, as the critical scientists reveal, the paper that established the Drosten PCR test for the Wuhan strain of coronavirus that has subsequently been adopted with indecent haste by the Merkel government along with WHO for worldwide use–resulting in severe lockdowns globally and an economic and social catastrophe–was never peer-reviewed before its publication by Eurosurveillance journal. The critics point out that,
“the Corman-Drosten paper was submitted to Eurosurveillance on January 21st 2020 and accepted for publication on January 22nd 2020. On January 23rd 2020 the paper was online.”
Incredibly, the Drosten test protocol, which he had already sent to WHO in Geneva on 17 January, was officially recommended by WHO as the worldwide test to determine presence of Wuhan coronavirus, even before the paper had been published.
WHO Chief Suggests Wuhan Lab Virus Leak Theory Needs Further Study
Epoch Times – The head of the U.N.’s World Health Organization (WHO) said that some origin theories about the CCP (Chinese Communist Party) virus, also known as the novel coronavirus, need to be further investigated, coming after the leader of a WHO team in Wuhan, China, dismissed the need for more investigation about whether the virus leaked from a laboratory. Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus on Thursday issued a statement on the theory and team’s investigation in Wuhan. Dr. Peter Ben Embarek, the head of the team, earlier this week claimed the lab leak theory was unlikely and didn’t require more investigation. But Tedros appeared to dispute Embarek’s comments, saying more investigation is warranted. “The independent expert team to study the origins of the COVID-19 virus has completed its trip to China … The expert team is still working on its final report, and we look forward to receiving both the reports.

Ammon Bundy, veteran of armed standoffs, builds militia network on COVID backlash
LA Times – EMMETT, Idaho — The two dozen demonstrators pressed against the emergency-room doors, screaming to be let in.
“Show us the law!” they chanted.
“Let Grandma out!” one shouted.
They had descended on Legacy Salmon Creek Medical Center in Vancouver, Wash., the evening of Jan. 29 to protest the quarantine of Gayle Meyer, a 74-year-old patient who had refused to take a test for the coronavirus.
Police in riot gear guarded entrances as the activists — who authorities said were armed — insisted that Meyer was being held against her will, a claim the hospital denied.
Meyer’s 49-year-old daughter, Satin, an anti-mask activist licensed as her caregiver, had summoned the demonstrators, foot soldiers in a rapidly expanding network called People’s Rights. With the tap of a thumb on a smartphone, members can call a militia like they’d call an Uber and stage a protest within minutes.
Behind the organization is a familiar name: Ammon Bundy.
He is best known as the leader of the 2016 occupation of the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge in Oregon — a deadly 41-day standoff between federal agents and militants who rejected the federal government’s authority over public lands across the West.
Now Bundy has seized on the backlash against coronavirus restrictions as an opportunity to start a new movement.
Since last March, when he launched People’s Rights — which he describes as “neighborhood watch on steroids” — the organization has attracted tens of thousands of members and sponsored more than 50 demonstrations across the country, dispatching gun-toting activists to the homes of politicians, health agency managers and even a police officer who had arrested a protester.
Cuomo aide attempts to clarify bombshell admission in COVID-19 nursing home death probe
Fox – Melissa DeRosa, secretary to Gov. Andrew Cuomo, attempted to walk back an earlier admission that the state withheld COVID-19 nursing home death data on purpose, insisting Friday that the governor’s office was “comprehensive and transparent” in responding to records requests from the Trump administration’s Justice Department.
On a phone call with New York’s Democratic lawmakers on Thursday, DeRosa reportedly said that Cuomo’s administration feared the data about COVID-19 deaths could “be used against us” by the Justice Department in the midst of its federal probe initiated against four states regarding nursing home deaths, including New York.
“We were in a position where we weren’t sure if what we were going to give to the Department of Justice, or what we give to you guys, what we start saying, was going to be used against us while we weren’t sure if there was going to be an investigation,” DeRosa told the lawmakers, according to the New York Post, which first reported the information.
But on Friday, DeRosa sought to clarify her comments, saying that she was “explaining that when we received the DOJ inquiry, we needed to temporarily set aside the Legislature’s request to deal with the federal request first.”
“We informed the houses of this at the time,” DeRosa said in a statement that was posted on Twitter by Rich Azzopardi, a senior Cuomo adviser. “We were comprehensive and transparent in our responses to the DOJ, and then had to immediately focus our resources on the second wave and vaccine rollout.
“As I said on a call with legislators, we could not fulfill their request as quickly as anyone would have liked. But we are committed to being better partners going forward as we share the same goal of keeping New Yorkers as healthy as possible during the pandemic.”
The statement did little to quell the anger from Republican lawmakers, some who are now calling for a criminal indictment of Cuomo and top staffers for their mishandling of the coronavirus pandemic.
Rep. Tom Reed, R-N.Y., told FOX Business’ Maria Bartiromo on Friday that he would be filing a criminal complaint with local and federal law enforcement for DeRosa’s arrest.

Investment Watch – Two different groups were charged with conspiracy to storm the Capitol on January 6th: the Proud Boys, which is currently designated as a terrorist group in Canada, and the Oath Keepers. The Oath Keepers were the first to be charged with “conspiracy”:
A man who authorities say is a leader of the far-right Oath Keepers militia group and helped to organize a ring of other extremists and led them in the attack last month at the U.S. Capitol has held a top-secret security clearance for decades and previously worked for the FBI, his attorney said Monday.
So, the leader of the Oath Keepers was glowing in the dark, but what about Proud Boys? Well, what do you know: their leader is also an FBI informant, who used to work on undercover stings since 2012.
Moreover, the Oath Keeper guy was actually a former FBI agent, division chief, who held a top security clearance since the seventies.
Meanwhile, Ricky Vaughn, a memelord who helped Trump win the election in 2016 was indicted on conspiracy charges, after he was doxed by Christopher Cantwell and Paul Nehlen, who informed on him to the FBI.
MILO Yiannopoulos also was an FBI informant, as we learned via court documents from the Charlottesville civil lawsuit. The bizarre “The Base” aka AtomWaffen terrorist group was exposed as being run by a CIA glow-in-the-dark agent with an active CAGE code.
For anybody with 2 neurons to rub together, it becomes obvious that we live in a country where the entire right-wing is effectively controlled and manipulated by the FBI/CIA/whatever alphabet agency you can think of.
To put it simply, the Capitol riot, storm or whatever was quite literally organized by the FBI. As in, the FBI organized the “events”. And now, the FBI is arresting regular Americans for a crime that was carried out and organized by the FBI.

Hawley, Scott introduce bill to withhold taxpayer money to WHO until reforms made
Fox – Republican Sens. Josh Hawley of Missouri and Rick Scott of Flordia have introduced a bill to withhold U.S. taxpayer funds from the World Health Organization until it makes leadership reforms.
The legislation introduced Tuesday called the World Health Organization (WHO) Accountability Act aims to hold the WHO accountable for what the senators allege to be playing a role in China’s early coverup of the COVID-19 pandemic when it was just starting to spread through China.
“Time and again, [WHO] has prioritized advancing the Chinese Communist Party’s interests over building a healthier world,” Hawley said in a Tuesday statement, naming WHO Director-General Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus and “other WHO leaders” as those who “must be held accountable for this dereliction of duty.”
He added that “the WHO must undertake comprehensive reform before it is allowed to benefit from U.S. tax dollars once again.”
President Biden announced on his first day in office that he would reinstate the United States’ relationship with WHO after former President Trump cut ties with the organization over its early handling of COVID-19 and alleged bias toward China. The U.S. had previously been a top contributor to the WHO, donating about $450 million a year.

Joe Biden says U.S. has bought enough vaccine to give 300 million people two doses by the end of July – and slams Trump’s handling of buying and distributing shots
Station Gossip – President Joe Biden announced Thursday that the U.S. will have enough supply of the vaccine by the end of the summer to inoculate 300 million Americans.
‘We’ve now purchased enough vaccine to vaccinate all Americans,’ Biden said.
He said the U.S. had secured contractual commitments from Moderna and Pfizer to deliver the 600 million doses of vaccine by the end of July – more than a month earlier than initially anticipated.
Biden, used his remarks to criticize President Donald Trump, saying he inherited ‘no plan to vaccinate most of the country.’
‘It is no secret that the vaccination program was in much worse shape than my team and I anticipated,’ he said.
‘We … were led to believe there was a lot more vaccines than there was,’ Biden said.
The U.S. is on pace to exceed Biden’s goal of administering 100 million vaccine doses in his first 100 days in office, with more than 26 million shots delivered in his first three weeks.

Nikki Haley criticizes Trump and says he has no future in the GOP
CNN – Former US ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley directly criticized former President Donald Trump for his involvement stoking the US Capitol riot in a new interview, a notable condemnation from someone who is widely viewed as harboring presidential hopes in a party that is still in thrall to Trump.
“We need to acknowledge he let us down,” she told Politico magazine in an interview published Friday. “He went down a path he shouldn’t have, and we shouldn’t have followed him, and we shouldn’t have listened to him. And we can’t let that ever happen again.”
Haley has often attempted to walk a fine line between allying herself with Trump — who remains a hugely popular figure within the party — while distancing herself enough to appeal to his Republican and moderate critics. She notably left his administration in 2018 on good terms with Trump, a contrast to many other officials who have publicly fallen out with their former boss.
In the Politico piece, Haley expressed anger over Trump’s treatment of former Vice President Mike Pence on January 6 and said she hasn’t spoken with Trump since then. Trump attacked Pence on Twitter that day for doing his duty of presiding over Congress’ counting of the Electoral College votes, as the mob of supporters broke into the Capitol hoping to stop the certification, some of whom chanted death threats against Pence.
House Republicans Accuse Biden of Playing ‘Political Game’ Over Border Crisis

On his first day in office, Biden signed executive orders and issued memos to temporarily suspend deportations of illegal aliens, reverse former President Donald Trump’s ban on travel from terror-prone countries, halt border wall construction, stop adding people to the “Remain in Mexico” program, preserve and fortify the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, and release a sweeping immigration package to Congress that includes amnesty for millions of asylum seekers
North Dakota House passes bill banning trans athletes from competing on school sports teams of their preferred gender identity
Tathasta – North Dakota’s state House of Representatives passed a bill on Thursday banning student athletes from participating on sports teams based on their preferred gender identity.
The bill, HB 1298, passed the state’s lower chamber with a vote of 65-26.
The bill will now move to the state’s Senate for consideration.

North Dakota state Rep. Ben Koppelman (R), who sponsored the bill, argued, “Some have said this bill just doesn’t follow the science. We’ve got science going back well before the United States that backs this. This isn’t new science. Men and women didn’t just cease to exist. They’ve existed for a long time, and we’ve been able to recognize the differences.”
North Dakota state Rep. Kathy Skroch (R), who co-sponsored the bill, told Grand Forks Herald that the bill is important for protecting the integrity of girls’ and women’s sports.
“This is about girls competing with girls, ensuring equal opportunity, and keeping a level playing field in girls’ sports,” Skroch said. “It upholds 50 years of progress and protecting women against discrimination and advocates for the preservation of biological standards.”

The Californians Are Coming. So Is Their Housing Crisis.
DNYUZ – Statistically speaking, Idaho is one of America’s greatest economic success stories. The state has low unemployment and high income growth. It has expanded education spending while managing to shore up budget reserves. Brad Little, the state’s Republican governor, has attributed this run of prosperity to the mix of low taxes and minimal regulation that conservatives call “the business climate.”
But there is another factor at play: Californians, fleeing high home prices, are moving to Idaho in droves. For the past several years, Idaho has been one of the fastest-growing states, with the largest share of new residents coming from California. This fact can be illustrated with census data, moving vans — or resentment.
Home prices rose 20 percent in 2020, according to Zillow, and in Boise, “Go Back to California” graffiti has been sprayed along the highways. The last election cycle was a referendum on growth and housing, and included a fringe mayoral candidate who campaigned on a promise to keep Californians out. The dichotomy between growth and its discontents has fused the city’s politics and collective consciousness with a question that city leaders around the country were asking even before the pandemic and remote work trends accelerated relocation: Is it possible to import California’s growth without also importing its housing problems?
“I can’t point to a city that has done it right,” said Lauren McLean, Boise’s Democratic mayor.
That’s because as bad as California’s affordable housing problem is, it isn’t really a California problem. It is a national one. From rising homelessness to anti-development sentiment to frustration among middle-class workers who’ve been locked out of the housing market, the same set of housing issues has bubbled up in cities across the country. They’ve already visited Boise, Nashville, Denver and Austin, Texas, and many other high-growth cities. And they will become even more widespread as remote workers move around.
Housing costs are relative, of course, so anyone leaving Los Angeles or San Francisco will find almost any other city to have a bountiful selection of homes that seem unbelievably large and cheap. But for those tethered to the local economy, the influx of wealthier outsiders pushes housing costs further out of reach.
Miami Mayor proposes resolution offering to pay employees in bitcoin
The Hill – Miami Mayor Francis Suarez (R) recently proposed a resolution that would allow municipal workers to choose whether or not they want to receive some or all of their pay in Bitcoin.
In the draft of the resolution, Suarez also proposed allowing city residents to pay property taxes or city fees in cryptocurrencies, according to Bloomberg.
Bitcoin has proven to be a volatile cryptocurrency that can spike or lose more than half its value in just a month’s time. However, Suarez has said that he supports Bitcoin and even plans to have his city manager analyze the possibility of investing a “limited amount of government funds” in it, Bloomberg reported.
“[Miami] is committed to promoting the emergence of Bitcoin as it continues to gain mainstream
acceptance,” Suarez stated in the resolution.
The resolution is reportedly set to be presented to the city’s governing commission for approval on Thursday.
Surarez has some support on the commission in Vice Chairman Ken Russell stating that he is “certainly not opposed” to including Bitcoin in city business, though he expressed that the city’s government needs to know what it is getting into, Bloomberg reported.
“What needs to be done is diligence, and not just from the legal perspective,” Russell said. “It’s not just a currency, it’s a concept.”
Doge days: Elon Musk and Tesla place double bet on cryptocurrency
With social media hype and big investment, the electric car company’s eccentric CEO is betting that the future is crypto.
Al Jazeera – What does the world’s richest person buy his baby? Cryptocurrency, apparently. Tech magnate and Tesla CEO Elon Musk tweeted the latest in a long string of social media posts boosting the prospects of Dogecoin this week by saying he planned to keep it in the family.
“Bought some Dogecoin for lil X, so he can be a toddler hodler,” Musk wrote on Twitter, using crypto slang to explain how he hopes his son will “hold on for dear life” to the digital asset known by its logo, a Shiba Inu dog.
But while Musk has lauded the joke currency with a number of memes — “D is for Dogecoin!” and “Who let the Doge out” among them — he has also suggested that the “people have spoken” about the pitfalls of fiat currency and extolled the virtues of bitcoin. Tesla’s announcement that it had bought $1.5bn in bitcoin and would accept the cryptocurrency as payment sent it rocketing above $48,000 this week.
Meanwhile, the value of one Dogecoin, expressed in United States dollars, climbed eightfold, from under one cent on January 26 to almost eight cents this week. Its proponents aim to pump the price up to $1; meanwhile, bitcoin’s market capitalisation is around 100 times Dogecoin’s $8.9bn pile.
Memes aside, Musk — who is best known for his disruptive ideas as the CEO of both Tesla and SpaceX — is wagering that cryptocurrency is also financially redeeming in two ways: as a stable store of value for investors and as a reliable medium of exchange that can rival the dollar in everyday economic transactions.

Test that detects coronavirus, flu gets FDA emergency use authorization, company says
Fox – The medical technology company behind a molecular diagnostic test that can detect both the influenza virus and coronavirus in a little as two to three hours said it received Emergency Use Authorization from the FDA on Friday.
Becton, Dickinson and Company (BD), said its test, which runs on the company’s existing BD Max platform, is also capable of detecting the U.K. and South African coronavirus variants with 99.9% accuracy.
“A computer analysis showed that 99.9% of the genetic sequences of these variants are an identical match to at least one of the two molecular targets for the test,” the company said in a news release. “This ability to detect these new variants also applies to the standalone SARS-CoV-2 test for the BD Max System.”
The test, which also detects influenza A and B strains, provides a positive or negative result for each virus using a single specimen. The company said thousands of laboratories worldwide are already using the BD Max System diagnostic platform, and that each unit is able to analyze hundreds of samples over a 24-hour period.
“Our diagnostic solutions for COVID-19 and Flu will help inform timely diagnosis and, ultimately, may contribute to faster and clinically appropriate patient management and treatment,” said Dave Hickey, president of Life Sciences for BD, in a news release. “In addition, the new information provided on the test’s ability to detect the U.K. and South African variants provides helpful guidance to health care practitioners as we look to identify and contain these new strains.”
The company said it also received a CE mark, which indicates approval in the European Union.
