ZeroHedge – arge-scale protests in Kazakhstan are growing more fierce by the day, with video emerging from major cities showing police vehicles being attacked and set on fire, as authorities try to clamp down on a third consecutive day of rage against a sudden rise in fuel prices after authorities lifted price caps on liquefied petroleum gas (LPG).
In what marks a very rare example of mass public dissent in the former Soviet republic which has one-party rule, protests which erupted last weekend centered in the oil-rich western Mangystau region have now spread across multiple towns and cities including several oil-producing hubs.
Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev is warning citizens against violating a blanket protest ban order, while also urging dialogue.
Even before the energy crisis this week, large political assemblies were only permitted by filing a legal request from authorities, underscoring the unprecedented nature of people taking to the streets en mass. Overnight, authorities have declared a “state of emergency” for the city of Almaty.
Local reports say a strict curfew of 11pm-7am has been imposed in Almaty. “Movements of private vehicles restricted. Entrance and exit from Almaty restricted,” sources say.
Over the past days video footage has captured larger and larger crowds, in some cases appearing in the tens of thousands, taking over city streets.
President Macron Says He Wants to ‘Piss Off’ Unjabbed by Banning Them From Social Life With Vax Pass
Breitbart – French President Emmanuel Macron has caused outrage after saying he aims to ‘piss off’ the unjabbed in the country by implementing a vaccine pass regime.
“I really want to piss them off,” said French President Emmanuel Macron regarding French unvaccinated during an interview on Tuesday, sparking outrage in the country.
The president made the comments in relation to his government’s plan to implement a vaccine pass regime in France, a plan which has now been repeatedly frustrated, after debate surrounding the measure was suspended again in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
“Me, I’m not for pissing off the French,” The President said, according to a report by Le Monde. “But as for the unvaccinated, I really want to piss them off.”
“And so we will continue to do so, until the end. This is the strategy,” Macron said.
The French president then went into detail as to how exactly he wants to “piss” the unvaccinated off.
“We put pressure on the unvaccinated by limiting for them, as much as possible, access to social life activities,” Macron is reported to have said.
New COVID-19 variant found in France nicknamed IHU: report
Fox – An official from the World Health Organization told a press conference Tuesday that another COVID-19 variant has infected a dozen people in France and has been on the agency’s radar, according to a report.
Bloomberg reported that the “IHU” variant, which was nicknamed by researchers at the Marseille-based Mediterranee Infection University Hospital Institute (IHU), has infected individuals in the southern Alps region in the country. Abdi Mahamud, a WHO incident manager, told researchers in Geneva that it’s too soon to “speculate on virological, epidemiological or clinical features” of the variant that was identified in November—at about the same time as omicron.
Chicago cancels classes as teachers vote to defy in-person learning order amid omicron surge
Washington Post- Chicago public schools canceled classes Wednesday after the city’s teachers union voted overwhelmingly to return to remote learning amid a surge in coronavirus cases, defying the city’s order to return to classrooms.
Close to 90 percent of the Chicago Teachers Union’s House of Delegates voted in favor of shifting to remote learning, along with more than 70 percent of its members, the union said in a statement Tuesday.
“This decision was made with a heavy heart and a singular focus on student and community safety,” said the union, which has accused Mayor Lori Lightfoot (D) of endangering the safety of teachers and students with lax coronavirus protocols. “Let us be clear. The educators of this city want to be in their classrooms with their students.”
Ted Cruz warns impeachment could be coming soon for Biden
Western Journal – As a red wave appears ready to crest over the House of Representatives in the November midterm elections, Republican Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas expects that will be followed by investigations of the Biden administration and possibly the impeachment of President Joe Biden.
“I’m very optimistic about 2022,” the senator said in the latest episode of the “Verdict with Ted Cruz” podcast.
“I put the odds of the Republicans winning the House at 90/10 and it may even be higher than that,” he said.
Cruz said the GOP is less likely to take over the upper chamber.
“I put our odds of our taking the Senate at 50/50,” he said. “I think it’s going to be a really good year but it’s a bad map.”
He said having Republicans control the House will alter the political dynamics of Washington.
“If we take the House, which, as I said, is overwhelmingly likely, then I think we will see serious investigations of the Biden administration,” the senator said.
Biden Withholds Annual Report on Deportations
Washington Free Beacon – The Biden administration has yet to release a report that details the number of illegal immigrants removed from the United States in 2021, keeping the public in the dark about its handling of the immigration crisis.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement did not release its annual report in 2021, a departure from standard agency practice since at least 2011. In each of the last nine years, ICE released the report in the final weeks of the calendar year, most recently on Dec. 23, 2020 during the Trump administration.
It is unclear whether ICE has completed the report, which provides a lengthy summary of the agency’s enforcement and removal operations, as well as immigration-related security threats. A spokeswoman for the immigration agency told the Washington Free Beacon a release date for the report has not been determined.
The absence of the 2021 annual report has prompted outrage on Capitol Hill. Sen. Josh Hawley (R., Mo.) questioned the motives behind the White House’s secrecy on the topic of immigration.
“During record-breaking levels of illegal immigration, DHS and ICE have taken steps to dismantle interior enforcement operations that keep our communities safe from criminal aliens,” Hawley told the Free Beacon. “I’ve been calling for transparency into these radical policy changes for months. If ICE is intentionally hiding their annual report from the public, then it’s safe to assume it doesn’t show any improvement; it shows failure.”
Jan. 6 Detainee at Risk of Dying From Lack of Medical Care, Attorney Says
Epoch TImes – A defendant being held in Virginia in connection with the Jan. 6, 2021, breach of the U.S. Capitol is extremely ill and at risk of dying because the jail refuses to provide proper medical care and a special diet for his celiac disease, New York attorney Joseph McBride alleges.
“They’re starving the guy out,” McBride told The Epoch Times. “They have moved him six times since he’s been detained. We can’t send him to a facility that’s not going to be able to take care of him.”
Christopher J. Quaglin’s case is the most recent in a series of allegations that Jan. 6 defendants have been beaten, tortured, and denied food and proper medical care while in federal custody. A group of 14 lawmakers on Jan. 3 sent a letter (pdf) to Michael Carvajal, director of the Federal Bureau of Prisons, demanding that “you use your authority to investigate this abuse or we will use our authority to investigate your failure.”
“Many instances of physical and psychological abuse, denial of medical care, 24-hour solitary confinement, denial of basic personal hygiene, denial of access to legal counsel, destruction of records, and general abuse of rights and mandated standards for prisoners have been brought to our attention,” the lawmakers wrote. The letter was organized by Rep. Clay Higgins (R-La.) and Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.).
Quaglin, who is from New Jersey, is charged in federal court with assaulting multiple law enforcement officers during rioting at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021. He is being held pending trial at the Northern Neck Regional Jail in Warsaw, Virginia, the sixth facility where he’s been housed since he was charged in April 2021.
Biden Admin Mask, Vaccine Mandates for Head Start Program Blocked in 24 Additional States
Epoch Times – The Biden administration mask and COVID-19 vaccine mandates for the Head Start program have been blocked in additional 24 states by a federal judge.
U.S. District Judge Terry Doughty, a Trump nominee, granted a preliminary injunction on Jan. 1 to Georgia and 23 other states against the mandates.
Doughty said he thinks the government lacks the authority to impose the mask mandate on all children two years and older and the vaccine requirements on all workers and many volunteers and contractors.
The law in question does not mention masks or vaccines, leaving the administration reliant on the health secretary’s ability to modify any standard he or she “finds to be appropriate.”
If the secretary can actually do so, “that would be very concerning” because the defendants “would have unlimited power,” Doughty wrote.
“This court has no hesitation in finding that the Head Start mandate is a decision of vast economic significance and that Congress has not clearly spoken to give agency defendants the authority to impose it. The plaintiff states are likely to succeed on the merits that the agency defendants exceeded their authority in enacting the Head Start mandate,” he added.
Omicron Spreads Faster Than Delta Within Vaccinated Individuals: Danish Study
Epoch Times – A Danish study of nearly 12,000 households has discovered that Omicron spreads faster than Delta among those who are fully vaccinated, and even higher between those who have received booster shots, demonstrating strong evidence of the variant’s immune evasiveness.
The Omicron variant was found to evade the immunity of vaccinated individuals at a much faster pace compared to Delta, and at a higher rate than the unvaccinated, according to the study conducted by researchers at the University of Copenhagen, Statistics Denmark, and Statens Serum Institut.
“Comparing households infected with the Omicron to Delta VOC, we found an 1.17 times higher SAR for unvaccinated, 2.61 times higher for fully vaccinated and 3.66 times higher for booster-vaccinated individuals, demonstrating strong evidence of immune evasiveness of the Omicron VOC,” said the preprint of the study. SAR refers to secondary attack rate.
However, the study also discovered that unvaccinated individuals spread the virus more easily than those who are fully vaccinated, while there was reduced transmission between people who received booster shots.
There were altogether 11,937 households involved in the study, out of which 2,225 already had Omicron. After one to 7 days, the team followed up with the households and found 6,397 secondary infections. The SAR was found to be 31 percent with the Omicron, and 21 percent with the Delta variant.
Omicron has spread to 90 countries worldwide and has become the dominant variant in the United States. However, the strain has proven to cause mild symptoms compared to earlier variants like Delta, and results in fewer hospitalizations.
Frontline Doctor Highlights His Preferred COVID-19 Treatments
Epoch Times – While the Omicron variant of the the CCP (Chinese Communist Party) virus seems to be causing less severe disease than the Delta variant, it’s still landing some people in hospitals, highlighting the need for effective treatment before cases progress to that stage, a frontline doctor says.
Dr. Syed Haider has treated more than 4,000 COVID-19-positive patients so far during the pandemic. Just five ended up going to a hospital, and none have died.
The doctor said his preferred treatments include many off-label medications along with vitamins and supplements.
“Vitamin D is really important, ivermectin is important, fluvoxamine, hydroxychloroquine also works, it’s just a lot of people have been convinced that it doesn’t at this point, and are scared off of trying it,” Haider told NTD’s “Capitol Report.” “But I prefer ivermectin, fluvoxamine, Vitamin D, Vitamin C, quercetin, zinc.”
Ivermectin is an anti-parasitic that has had mixed results against COVID-19 in clinical trials and isn’t advised by the Food and Drug Administration to treat the disease. Fluvoxamine is an antidepressant that’s gaining popularity for use against COVID-19. Hydroxychloroquine is an anti-malarial that has shown some success in treating the disease. Quercetin is a plant pigment that’s not widely known yet as a treatment for COVID-19.

CDC: Omicron Now 95 Percent of All New US COVID-19 Cases
Epoch Times- The COVID-19 Omicron variant accounted for approximately 95.4 percent of U.S. COVID-19 cases diagnosed in the week ended Jan. 1, said the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in an update published Tuesday.
With the CDC’s finding, it suggests Omicron is highly contagious, as it was able to displace the previously dominant Delta strain in only a few weeks. The Delta variant now accounts for about 4.6 percent of all cases, the CDC figures show.
About two weeks ago, the CDC reported that Omicron only accounted for about 38 percent of all COVID-19 cases for the week ending on Dec. 18. The agency significantly revised its estimates for Omicron’s prevalence for the week ending on Dec. 25 from 73 percent to about 58 percent.
The United States, meanwhile, set a global record of almost 1 million new coronavirus infections reported on Monday, according to a tally, nearly double the country’s peak of 505,109 hit just a week ago.
About 978,856 new infections that were reported Monday include some cases from Saturday and Sunday, when many states do not report. The average number of U.S. deaths per day has remained fairly steady throughout December and into early January at about 1,300, according to a Reuters tally.
“We are seeing more and more studies pointing out that Omicron is infecting the upper part of the body. Unlike other ones, the lungs who would be causing severe pneumonia,” World Health Organization (WHO) Incident Manager Abdi Mahamud told Swiss-based journalists on Tuesday.
He said it is good news, “but we really require more studies to prove that.”
COVID-19 Vaccine Creator: ‘We Can’t Vaccinate the Planet Every 6 Months’
Epoch Times – The creator of one of the most used COVID-19 vaccines in the world acknowledged Tuesday that it is “not sustainable” to continuously provide booster doses to people twice per year.
Speaking to The Telegraph in an interview on Tuesday, Andrew Pollard, one of the creators of the Oxford AstraZeneca COVID-19 shot, remarked, “We can’t vaccinate the planet every six months.”
Policymakers should instead try to “target the vulnerable” moving forward rather than providing doses to anyone aged 12 and older, said Pollard, who is also in charge of the UK’s Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunization. More data should be gathered on “whether, when, and how often those who are vulnerable will need additional doses,” he continued.
It comes as some countries, including Israel, are starting or are considering the rollout of a fourth vaccine dose. On Monday, Israeli officials started offering the dose to all medical workers and individuals aged 60 and older.
In Israel, booster doses are connected to individuals’ COVID-19 vaccine passports, known as “green passes,” that are used to enter certain businesses. Authorities announced last year that green passes would expire if the person doesn’t receive a booster within six months of getting their second initial vaccine dose.
German Health Minister Karl Lauterbach in late December told public broadcaster ZDF that Germans “will need a fourth vaccination” for COVID-19 in the coming months, while authorities in the Netherlands remarked last week that they have purchased enough vaccine doses to provide three extra boosters through 2023.
“At some point, society has to open up. When we do open, there will be a period with a bump in infections, which is why winter is probably not the best time,” Pollard said in the Tuesday interview. “But that’s a decision for the policymakers, not the scientists. Our approach has to switch, to rely on the vaccines and the boosters. The greatest risk is still the unvaccinated.”
The UK, he added, should not blindly follow the booster policies that were implemented or are being currently proposed in Germany in Israel.
Texas Sues Biden Administration Over Vaccine Mandate for National Guard
Epoch TImes – Texas Tuesday sued to block the Pentagon’s vaccine mandate for the Texas National Guard.
The lawsuit was filed in federal court by Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton.
It argues the federal government lacks the authority to compel guard members from getting vaccinated.
Gov. Greg Abbott, meanwhile, ordered Maj. Gen. Tracy Norris, adjutant general of the Texas Military Department, not to punish any guardsman for choosing not to receive a COVID-19 vaccine.
Abbott, a Republican, added that his “order has been in effect for months now, President [Joe] Biden has muddied the waters with a vaccine mandate from the U.S. Department of Defense,” according to his letter.
“Unless President Biden federalizes the Texas National Guard in accordance with Title 10 of the U.S. Code, he is not your commander-in-chief under our federal or state Constitutions,” Abbott wrote to Norris.
Abbott’s announcement of a lawsuit comes days after Oklahoma Gov. Kevin Stitt lost a similar case in a bid to block the Department of Defense’s mandate for National Guard members, and comes weeks after Abbott wrote to Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin that he would not impose the vaccine requirement for Texas Guard members.
Following a judge’s earlier order rejecting Stitt’s bid, the chief of the Oklahoma National Guard said on Dec. 30 that unvaccinated airmen won’t be allowed to drill.
“The Department of Defense has indicated it will recoup any pay provided to unvaccinated airmen who drill after Jan. 1, 2022,” U.S. Army Brig. Gen. Thomas Mancino announced, adding the Pentagon “can enforce this threat outside of the State of Oklahoma’s control.” Mancino previously said he backed Stitt’s decision that he won’t enforce the mandate.
Members of the Army National Guard have until June 2022 to get vaccinated.

The officer claimed they were warned by a colonel: “Tread very carefully, this is political, you will be crushed like an ant.”
“Do I want to continue serving in an institution that crushes people for bringing up reasonable points in defending their faith?” they asked.
Big Left-Wing ‘Dark Money’ Groups Fund Schumer’s Secretive Anti-Filibuster Ally
Epoch TImes – Fix Our Senate, the obscure outfit leading a coalition of 70 liberal advocacy groups backing Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer’s (D-N.Y.) anti-filibuster drive, is a left-wing “dark-money pop-up,” according to a political nonprofit finance expert.
“Fix Our Senate may present itself as a standalone, grassroots activist group, but it’s actually a front for the Sixteen Thirty Fund, itself part of a $1.7 billion left-wing ‘dark- money pop-up’ empire run by the shadowy consulting firm Arabella Advisors,” said Capital Research Center (CRC) senior investigative researcher Hayden Ludwig.
“We call these fronts ‘pop-ups’ because they’re websites which pop into existence, run attack campaigns, and disappear in an instant and almost never reveal their connection to Arabella or its nonprofits,” Ludwig told The Epoch Times on Jan. 4.
The CRC is a conservative nonpartisan foundation that specializes in tracking trends among the most influential charities, nonprofits, and special-interest groups affecting the public policy process in the nation’s capital.
“We study unions, environmentalist groups, and a wide variety of nonprofit and activist organizations. We also keep an eye on crony capitalists who seek to profit by taking advantage of government regulations and by getting their hands on taxpayers’ money,” CRC says of its purpose on its website.
Schumer promised earlier this week to seek a vote by Jan. 17 on abolishing or reforming the filibuster—the Senate’s “cloture” rule that requires 60 votes to end debate and vote on a proposal—if Senate Republicans block consideration of two election reform packages that are top priorities of the Democrats’ progressive, or far-left, faction.
Republicans argue the reforms—the John R. Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act and the Freedom to Vote Act—severely limit or eliminate entirely the use of photo IDs and related ballot security measures, and require that all proposed changes to state election laws have prior Department of Justice (DOJ) approval.
Measures such as strengthening voter identification requirements are highly popular with the public, with recent surveys by Rasmussen, Monmouth, Pew, and AP-NORC finding 72 to 80 percent support for requiring photo IDs to vote.
Fix Our Senate describes itself as a “coalition of more than 70 organizations (and counting) representing millions of Americans fighting to eliminate the filibuster and fix the Senate so our elected officials can finally start delivering on their promises.”
While no individuals are identified as officials on Fix Our Senate’s website, Eli Zupnick is identified by The Hill as a “spokesman.” He’s cited as praising Schumer for making “the choice clear: Senate Democrats must now choose between protecting our democracy or stubbornly preserving an outdated and abused Senate rule.”
Life Insurance CEO: Working-Age Death Rate Up By Whopping 40%
PJ Media – Deaths among working-age Americans are up a chilling 40%, according to OneAmerica CEO Scott Davison.
“What we saw just in third quarter, we’re seeing it continue into fourth quarter, is that death rates are up 40% over what they were pre-pandemic,” Davison said in a virtual news conference just before the New Year.
“We are seeing, right now, the highest death rates we have seen in the history of this business – not just at OneAmerica.”
The increased death are occurring almost exclusively among “working-age people 18 to 64.”
Davison told viewers, “Just to give you an idea of how bad that is, a three-sigma or a one-in-200-year catastrophe would be 10% increase over pre-pandemic.”
“40% is just unheard of,” he concluded.
Your typical Mainstream Media or government-issued report (is there still a difference?) hypes the number of positive test results, even though not everyone gets tested and test results can show positive even when someone just has a regular flu bug. What Davison is looking at for his numbers are the life insurance actuarial tables that can make or break his business.
So my first thought, when I saw a life insurance CEO saying that working-age deaths are up by 40%, was that it’s literally his business to know the facts.
As Dr. Robert Malone put it — on Substack, following his Twitter ban — this “is a nuclear truth bomb masquerading as an insurance agent’s dry manila envelope full of actuarial tables.”

Actually, I take that back — if I’ve learned anything these last two years, it’s not to tempt the fates.
Last week, the Indiana Department of Health reported 12,020 new COVID cases on Thursday alone, and that’s a record. But there were only 48 COVID-related deaths, about a third less than the last time the caseload was this high.
“What the data is showing to us is that the deaths that are being reported as COVID deaths greatly understate the actual death losses among working-age people from the pandemic,” Davison said. “It may not all be COVID on their death certificate, but deaths are up just huge, huge numbers.”

The number of hospitalizations in the state is now higher than before the COVID-19 vaccine was introduced a year ago, and in fact is higher than it’s been in the past five years, Dr. Lindsay Weaver, Indiana’s chief medical officer, said at a news conference with Gov. Eric Holcomb on Wednesday.
Just 8.9% of ICU beds are available at hospitals in the state, a low for the year, and lower than at any time during the pandemic. But the majority of ICU beds are not taken up by COVID-19 patients – just 37% are, while 54% of the ICU beds are being occupied by people with other illnesses or conditions.

These are countries which either allow the cultivation of GMO canola (such as the USA and Canada), or have tested it in experimental releases (such as Germany), or allow the import of kernels (such as Japan). Moreover, it has to be assumed that there is a high number of undetected cases, as many regions do not have systematic monitoring, Testbiotech reported.
GMO canola is resistant to several herbicides, such as glyphosate. In many cases, the plants have persisted in or around the fields and along of transport routes for several years, and have been found to have a higher potential for environmental spread than previously assumed.
The long-term risks are difficult to assess because the offspring of GMO plants can have characteristics not observed in the original plants. One reason for this are the unintended effects caused by the genetic engineering process itself. In several cases, it has been found that the offspring of GMO plants produce a higher number of seeds and show stronger growth. In some regions, the spread of GE plants is already a threat to biodiversity: offspring of GMO cotton are already spreading in Mexico, and thus endangering wild populations of the same species in the center of origin.
In comparison, the problems in EU member states are still fairly few and far between. This is because EU regulation follows the precautionary principle, which does not allow the cultivation of GMO plants with a high potential for environmental spread. Importantly, unintended effects associated with the process of genetic engineering must also be assessed in each case, and the relevant data made accessible to the public.
In addition, regulation requires detection procedures to trace the plants in the environment. Finally, labelling rules also provide some certainty for farmers so that they do not unintentionally sow GMO seeds.
