CCP Is ‘Fully Supporting’ Palestinians Amid Israel-Hamas War: Gordan Chang

The Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) reaction to the deadly attack on Israel by the Hamas terrorists revealed that it’s on the side of Palestine, according to Gordan Chang, author of “The Coming Collapse of China” and “China Is Going to War.”

On Sunday, China’s foreign ministry issued its first statement, expressing its deep concerns about the “escalation of tensions and violence between Palestine and Israel.” Without naming Hamas, the ministry’s spokesperson urged “relevant parties” to “remain calm, exercise restraint, and immediately end the hostilities.”

Beijing’s stance is in sharp contrast with responses from Western countries. From U.S. President Joe Biden to European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, many world leaders have condemned the sudden attacks by the Islamic terrorist group Hamas starting from Saturday morning that have killed more than 1,600 and wounded thousands on both sides so far.

Saudi Arabia Announces Joint Military Exercises with China

The government of Saudi Arabia announced on Tuesday that the Saudi and Chinese navies have commenced a three-week joint exercise known as “Blue Sword.”

The first Blue Sword drill was held in 2019, near Saudi Arabia’s Red Sea port city of Jeddah. This year’s exercise was launched from the southern Chinese city of Zhanjiang, with a ceremony attended by hundreds of troops.

Netanyahu, Gantz form Unity Government in Israel; Hamas Fires Rockets at Tel Aviv

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and opposition leader Benny Gantz agreed Wednesday to form an emergency government of national unity for the duration of the war against the Palestinian terror group Hamas.

The decision to set aside bitter political differences is a significant one, and marks the achievement of one of the goals Netanyahu listed in his speech to the Israeli nation on Monday. Gantz, a former defense minister and general in the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) who leads the opposition Blue and White Party, had previously vowed to “shake the country” if Netanyahu passed his judicial reforms (one of which, indeed, was passed).

EU tells Meta to crack down on Israel-Hamas disinfo

The EU has warned Mark Zuckerberg over the spread of “disinformation” on Meta’s social media platforms after Hamas’ attack on Israel.

It told Meta, which owns Facebook and Instagram, it “has 24 hours” to respond and comply with European law.

Social media firms have seen a surge in misinformation about the conflict, including doctored images and mislabelled videos.

On Tuesday the EU warned X, formerly known as Twitter, about such content.

Hamas Calls for Global ‘Day of Jihad’ on Friday the 13th

The Palestinian Hamas terror group known as Hamas has called on Muslims worldwide to stage a “Day of Jihad,” or holy war, on Friday, October 13th — coincidentally, a date that resonates with horror movies and the upcoming Halloween holiday.

Hamas referred to the day as “Al-Aqsa Flood” Friday, referring to the name of the operation in which it murdered more than 1,200 Israelis, wounded roughly 3,000, and kidnapped over 100.

House Homeland Security Report: Over 35K Criminal Illegal Aliens Captured Sneaking into U.S. Under Joe Biden

More than 35,000 illegal aliens with criminal records have been captured attempting to cross the United States-Mexico border since President Joe Biden took office, according to a House Homeland Security Committee interim report released this week.

The report, authored by the committee’s Republican members and led by Chairman Mark Green (R-TN), details the extent to which criminals from around the world are arriving at the nation’s southern border in the hopes of getting past federal immigration officials.

Senate Republicans Introduce Bill to Freeze $6 Billion in Iranian Funds

In the wake of recent Hamas attacks on Israel, Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., and Sen. Tom Cotton, R-Ark., introduced a new bill Wednesday to immediately freeze $6 billion in Iranian funds.

The funds currently are being held in South Korea and are due to be released to Iran following a prisoner swap with the United States.

The two-page bill reinstates certain sanctions on Iran and prohibits the “Waiver of Sanctions with Respect to the Transfer of Funds from the Republic of Korea to Qatar,” which was transmitted to Congress on Sept. 11.

Ronny Jackson, America First Legal Win Right to Examine Biden’s Palestinian Funding

Rep. Ronny Jackson (R-TX) and the America First Legal foundation won a legal battle Tuesday to examine President Joe Biden’s decision to grant hundreds of millions of dollars in funding to Palestinian groups in possible violation of a 2018 anti-terror law.

As Breitbart News reported earlier this year, Jackson and America First sued the Biden administration for violating the Taylor Force Act, which was signed by President Donald Trump and named for an American murdered by a Palestinian terrorist in 2016.

Scalise Secures GOP Speaker Nomination But Unclear If He Has Enough Votes on Floor

House Majority Leader Steve Scalise (R-La.) won a vote among Republicans in the chamber on Oct. 11 to be the party’s nominee for speaker after last week’s ouster from that role of fellow Republican Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.).

Mr. Scalise, who defeated Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) in a 113–98 vote, is expected to face Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.) in an election by the full House. It’s unclear when that vote will be held.

With 217 votes needed, there’s no guarantee that Mr. Scalise will be successful on the first ballot in the House—or at all. Some supporters of Mr. Jordan have vowed to keep fighting for his election, threatening a repeat of the drawn-out contest in January, in which Mr. McCarthy (R-Calif.) was elected after a contentious battle among Republicans lasting four days.

Reporter Demands to Know What Biden Is Doing to Keep Palestinians in America Safe

Despite the horrific images coming out of areas of Southern Israel that have been cleansed of Hamas terrorists that invaded over the weekend (link NSFW and view at your discretion), some of our media are still plodding ahead with the “they both do it” narrative that equates a relatively low level of collateral damage by Israel Defense Forces operations with the calculated acts of terror committed by Hamas for the sole purpose of killing Jews.

Texas Governor Buses 52K Migrants to Sanctuary Cities Nationwide

Texas Governor Greg Abbott ordered the busing of nearly 52,000 migrants from the border region to self-proclaimed sanctuary cities nationwide.

Under Operation Lone Star, Governor Abbott ordered the Texas Division of Emergency Management to begin busing migrants from border towns to sanctuary cities in April 2022. Since that time, Abbott reported that nearly 52,000 migrants were transported to six sanctuary cities.

GOP Senator Refers Ex-CIA Director to US Capitol Police Over ‘Assassination’ Post

Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Ala.) responded to a social media post from a former CIA director that suggested he be removed “from the human race” by referring the comment to the U.S. Capitol Police.

This week, former CIA Director Michael Hayden responded to an X post that read: “Should Tommy Tuberville be removed from his committee? Yes or No?” Mr. Hayden responded by asking: “How about the human race?”

Some commentators on X, formerly Twitter, interpreted it as a call for the Alabama senator’s assassination. Mr. Tuberville also said that he believed it was a call for violence, releasing a statement saying he referred the former CIA boss to the U.S. Capitol Police.

Fulton County Prosecutors Call RNC Chair, Alex Jones in Case Against Sidney Powell, Kenneth Chesebro

Fulton County Superior Court Judge Scott McAfee on Tuesday signed off on two requests from prosecutors to call Republican National Committee (RNC) Chair Ronna McDaniel and radio show host Alex Jones as witnesses in the upcoming trial against Kenneth Chesebro and Sidney Powell.

Mr. Chesebro and Ms. Powell were indicted alongside former President Donald Trump and 16 others for challenging the results of the 2020 election in Georgia. All 19 defendants were charged with violating the state’s Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act; 18 have pleaded not guilty, with co-defendant Scott Hall accepting a plea bargain from the prosecutors.

Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis argued that Ms. McDaniel and Mr. Jones are necessary material witnesses.

The order notes that Mr. Jones participated in a “Stop the Steal” rally in Georgia, as well as on Jan. 6, 2021, in Washington, D.C., where he marched with a bullhorn.

“Video footage shows that Kenneth Chesebro was marching on the Capitol alongside Alex Jones on this day,” the order reads. “The Court finds that Kenneth Chesebro was in communication with Alex Jones regarding the attempt to disrupt and delay the January 6, 2021 joint session of Congress.”

“Alex Jones possesses unique knowledge concerning communications between himself and Kenneth Chesebro and other known and unknown individuals involved in the multi-state, coordinated efforts to influence the results of the November 3, 2020 presidential election in Georgia and elsewhere.”

Trump Trying to Subpoena Records Missing From January 6 Select Committee Archives

Attorneys for former President Donald Trump requested permission to subpoena records related to seven individuals and entities in the case against the Republican presidential candidate in the District of Columbia.

President Trump was charged with four felony counts for his actions in challenging the 2020 election results, and the records that he’s seeking are the ones missing from the archives of the January 6 Select Committee.

“By these subpoenas, President Trump seeks to retrieve certain missing records and uncover information about their disposition,” the Oct. 11 filing reads.

Harvard Students Doxxed, Groups Withdraw Signatures Amid Continued Backlash to Israel Statement

Amid continued national backlash, multiple Harvard student groups have withdrawn their signatures from a controversial statement calling Israel “entirely responsible” for the ongoing violence, and group members have faced doxxing attacks.

As of Tuesday night, at least five of the original 34 signatories — including Amnesty International at Harvard, Harvard College Act on a Dream, the Harvard Undergraduate Nepali Student Association, the Harvard Islamic Society, and Harvard Undergraduate Ghungroo — had withdrawn their endorsements, though the full list of endorsing groups was taken off the public statement earlier Tuesday.

The reversals followed severe condemnation and calls by thousands of Harvard affiliates to disavow the statement, which was originally penned by the Harvard Undergraduate Palestine Solidarity Committee. It did not explicitly condemn violence against Israeli civilians, though a spokesperson for the group later wrote in a statement that “the PSC staunchly opposes violence against civilians — Palestinian, Israeli, or other.”

In a statement to The Crimson Tuesday night, Act on a Dream said the group signed the statement as “a result of miscommunication and a lack of due diligence in sharing the statement with the entirety of the board.”

IRS says Microsoft owes an additional $29 billion in back taxes

received Notices of Proposed Adjustment from the Internal Revenue Service for an additional tax payment of $28.9 billion, the company said in an 8-K filing Wednesday.

Microsoft said the dispute concerns the company’s allocated profits between countries and jurisdictions between 2004 and 2013. It said up to $10 billion in taxes that the company has already paid are not reflected in the proposed adjustments made by the IRS.

Microsoft plans to contest the notices through the IRS’ administrative appeal and is willing to go to judicial proceedings, if necessary.

“Microsoft disagrees with these proposed adjustments and will pursue an appeal within the IRS, a process expected to take several years,” the company said in its filing. “We believe we have always followed the IRS’s rules and paid the taxes we owe in the U.S. and around the world.”

Guns for Hire: America’s Crisis State Goes Global

From being a nation in a permanent state of emergency, America’s crisis state has gone global.

The military industrial complex, which has established itself as the “solution” to all of our worldly problems (at taxpayer expense, of course), has mired the nation in endless wars abroad waged by U.S. military service people who have been reduced to little more than guns for hire.

Every successive president starting with Franklin D. Roosevelt has been bought—lock, stock and barrel—and made to dance to the tune of the police state, a.k.a. the Deep State, a.k.a. the military industrial complex, a.k.a. the surveillance state complex.

HEALTH

Can Choline Help With Our Pain Epidemic?

In a study with mice, the pain relief provided by this nutrient rivaled that of opioids, but without the negative effects.

Boosting choline, a precursor for acetylcholine, may be an important part of pain relief, but an estimated 90% of the U.S. population is deficient.

Researchers from the University of Chicago revealed that targeting an acetylcholine receptor led to pain-relieving effects in mice, even in animals that were tolerant to opioids.

The pathway did not activate the brain’s reward system, so there’s little chance of addiction, and there was no tolerance built up or withdrawal symptoms when the treatment stopped.

Choline plays a significant role in human health, from neurotransmitter synthesis to cell structures, and may be involved in the development of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), atherosclerosis and neurological disorders.

Krill oil and eggs, particularly the yolks, are excellent choline sources.

This Gut-Critical Carb Is Massively Under-Consumed—Do You Get Enough?

At this point, it’s common knowledge that a healthy gut supports smooth digestion. But few consider the comprehensive impact of nourishing your gut daily (think immune function, mental well-being, natural detoxification pathways, and even skin health). Maintaining a diverse and abundant microbiome of “good” bacteria goes beyond digestion to support whole-body health.

But how, specifically, are you supporting your gut health? Many consider probiotics and fermented foods to be the pinnacle of GI health, but those of us who have struggled with digestive issues, mood, and a suboptimal immune response know firsthand that promoting a healthy gut takes more effort and intention than drinking a daily kombucha. Enter: fiber.

6 ways fiber promotes gut health:

1.By supporting a diverse and abundant microbiome

2.Promotes SCFA production

3.Bolsters gut barrier function

4.Aids digestion & gut motility

5.Supports healthy bowel movements

6.Promotes gut immunity

The takeaway

Increasing your dietary fiber intake is one of the best things you can do to promote overall gut health, immune response, and regularity.

California Court: Facebook Violates Anti-Discrimination Laws by Targeting Ads by Age and Gender

A recent ruling by a California court has spotlighted Facebook’s ad-targeting system, declaring its practices of showing ads to Americans based on age and gender as a violation of the state’s anti-discrimination laws.

Ars Technica reports that a California court has ruled against Facebook (now known as Meta) for its ad-targeting practices, which involve categorizing and targeting ads based on user demographics such as age and gender. The case, initiated by Samantha Liapes, a 48-year-old user, has brought to light potential systemic issues within digital advertising algorithms and their implications on user discrimination.
