Report: U.S. Taxpayers Subsidizing Small Businesses in Ukraine, Including Designer Knitwear

While everyday American taxpayers are battling inflation and struggling to make ends meet, their money is subsidizing small businesses in Ukraine, according to a recent report on CBS News’s 60 Minutes.

In addition to at least $43 billion in military aid, the U.S. has pumped nearly $25 billion of non-military aid into Ukraine’s economy since the Ukraine War began in February 2022, according to the report.

Europe’s banks helped fossil fuel firms raise more than €1tn from global bond markets

Banks including some of Europe’s largest lenders have helped fossil fuel companies to raise more than €1tn (£869bn) from the global bond markets since the Paris climate agreement, according to an investigation by the Guardian and its reporting partners.

In the push to zero carbon, Europe’s biggest lenders face growing pressure to limit their financial support for fossil fuel companies through direct loans and other financing facilities.

But analysis of thousands of transactions since 2016, when more than 190 countries agreed at a UN summit in Paris to limit global warming by curbing pollution, has revealed that lenders including Deutsche Bank, HSBC and Barclays have continued to profit from the expansion of oil, gas and coal by supporting the sale of fossil fuel bonds.

Venezuela: Maduro Raid on VIP Prison Allowed Top Gang Leaders to Flee

Colombia, Peru, Chile, and other Latin American countries are on high alert after the escape of Héctor “the Child” Guerrero, the leader of Venezuela’s largest known criminal organization, the Tren de Aragua (“Aragua Train”).

Guerrero remains missing at press time since the socialist regime of dictator Nicolás Maduro orchestrated a raid on the notorious Tocorón prison last week, after years of neglect so extreme that Maduro’s regime allowed the Tren de Aragua to turn the complex into an amusement park featuring pools, nightclubs, and a zoo. Guerrero was serving a 17-year sentence at the site.

Saudi Arabia announced this weekend that its gross domestic product had crossed the threshold of $1 trillion for the first time in its history, a milestone reached with the aid of high global oil prices and heavy government investment in tourism and entertainment.

The Saudi government had reportedly expected to reach a $1-trillion GDP in 2025, the Saudi news outlet al-Arabiya reported, citing the state-run Saudi Press Agency (SPA). The Federation of Saudi Chambers made the announcement that the country reached that goal much more quickly than anticipated on Friday in anticipation of the Saudi National Day on September 23.

Of course, he did not define this new order by Russia’s brutal war of conquest against Ukraine. Instead, he said it was shaped by a struggle between “the world majority, which advocates a more equitable distribution of global goods and civilizational diversity,” and “the few who use neo-colonial methods of subjugation to maintain their elusive dominance.”

Biden walking a picket line?  Are we taking bets as to when he’s going to stumble and fall?

Biden to walk the picket line in Michigan to support UAW strikers
President Joe Biden will travel to Michigan on Tuesday and walk the picket line with members of the United Auto Workers union, he announced Friday, a trip that comes after the president faced political pressure to ramp up his public support for the union members.

“Tuesday, I’ll go to Michigan to join the picket line and stand in solidarity with the men and women of UAW as they fight for a fair share of the value they helped create. It’s time for a win-win agreement that keeps American auto manufacturing thriving with well-paid UAW jobs,” Biden said in a post to X, the platform formerly known as Twitter.

Biden’s trip, and the historic presidential appearance on a picket line, underscores the political opportunity as the strike against the nation’s three largest automakers – General Motors, Ford, and Stellantis – enters its second week. It will come one day before former President Donald Trump, currently the front-runner in the GOP presidential race, is scheduled to deliver a prime-time speech to an audience of current and former union members, including from UAW, in Detroit. Earlier in the week, Trump’s team confirmed he would be skipping the second Republican primary debate for the Michigan speech.

Trump Demands Government Shutdown as McCarthy Tries to Avoid One

Former President Donald Trump blasted Republicans in a post on Truth Social as members of Congress scramble to negotiate a budget to keep the government in operation, calling on them to “shut it down.”

“The Republicans lost big on Debt Ceiling, got NOTHING, and now are worried that they will be BLAMED for the Budget Shutdown. Wrong!!! Whoever is President will be blamed, in this case, Crooked (as Hell!) Joe Biden!” he wrote, referring to House Speaker Kevin McCarthy’s (R-Calif.) repeated imploring of House Republicans to avert a shutdown.

While President Trump did not mention Mr. McCarthy by name, he referenced Senate Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.), who he said has “already given the Democrats everything” in negotiations, such as agreeing to raise the debt ceiling.

Only 7 GOP Candidates Qualify for 2nd RNC Debate

The Republican National Committee (RNC) released the names of presidential candidates who qualify for Wednesday night’s debate, knocking former Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson off the list.

The debate will be held Wednesday night at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley, California, where the following candidates will duke it out for a chance to earn the 2024 Republican nomination for president: North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum, former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, former U.N. ambassador Nikki Haley, former Vice President Mike Pence, entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy, and Sen. Tim Scott (SC).

10 Mice Used to Test the Newest Pfizer COVID Jab

September 11, 2023, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced it had approved reformulated monovalent COVID shots by Pfizer and Moderna for the fall for use in individuals 12 years of age and older. The agency has also issued emergency use authorization (EUA) for use of the reformulated jabs in children aged 6 months to 11 years

The updated mRNA injections contain a single modified RNA said to correspond to the Omicron variant XBB.1.5., which was the dominant variant in the U.S. for most of 2023, but which has since been replaced by other variants. XBB.1.5 accounted for just 3.1% of the circulating strains as of September 2, 2023

According to authorities, this strain is different enough from the strains in any of the previous shots for them to recommend everyone take it, regardless of your previous COVID jab history

Americans are fed up with the COVID boosters, so federal officials have recast the new booster as an “annual immunization.” However, certain groups will require up to three doses of this new shot. So, they’re basically just restarting the whole injection series all over

Pfizer’s testing of the reformulated monovalent shot against XBB.1.5., only involved 10 mice. Moderna’s version has been tested on 50 adults, one of whom required medical attention due to an adverse event, giving us a potential serious adverse event ratio of 1 in 50

US Blacklists Chinese, Russian Entities Over Moscow Military Aid

U.S. authorities have imposed sanctions on 28 entities from countries such as China and Russia, accusing some among them of helping Russia to make military drones.

The new trade blacklist released on Sept. 25 targeted 11 Chinese firms, along with five from Russia and others based in Pakistan, Finland, Oman, Germany, and the United Arab Emirates.

Nine of them, including Hong Kong-based Asia Pacific Links Ltd., conspired to supply the previously sanctioned Russian defense contractor, Special Technology Center, with drone parts for Russia’s military intelligence agency, violating U.S. export controls, according to the Commerce Department.

Moody’s … again?  Do we need a reminder of what securitization did to our economy?

US government shutdown bad for country’s credit, warns Moody’s

A U.S. government shutdown would harm the country’s credit, rating agency Moody’s said on Monday, a stern warning coming one month after Fitch downgraded the U.S. by one notch on the back of a debt ceiling crisis.

U.S. government services would be disrupted and hundreds of thousands of federal workers furloughed without pay if Congress fails to provide funding for the fiscal year starting Oct. 1.

A possible shutdown would be further evidence of how political polarization in Washington is weakening fiscal policymaking at a time of rising pressures on U.S. government debt affordability because of higher interest rates, Moody’s analyst William Foster told Reuters.

Popular Weight Loss Drugs Taken by Millions Hold Highest FDA Safety Warnings

Nearly half of Americans say they’re interested in using a safe and effective prescription drug to lose weight, as a relatively new class of drugs initially approved to treat diabetes is growing in popularity for their ability to shed pounds with minimal effort.

A new trend fueled by more than 4,000 ad campaigns on social media, celebrities, and news coverage is enticing millions of Americans to turn to Ozempic and Wegovy, despite the potential harms associated with the drugs.

Mechanisms for Weight Loss and Side Effects

Ozempic and Wegovy contain the same active ingredient, semaglutide, although Wegovy contains a larger amount. Wegovy was approved in 2021 by the FDA as a treatment for obesity in individuals aged 12 or older and for adults who are overweight with a weight-related health condition.

While Ozempic is available in 0.25 milligrams, 0.5 mg, 1.0 mg, and 2 mg doses, Wegovy is available in 0.25 mg, 0.5 mg, 1.0 mg, 1.7 mg, and 2.4 mg single-use injections to be given on an escalated dosing schedule (pdf) over five months to minimize gastrointestinal adverse reactions. Wegovy is designed to be taken long term and may result in an individual gaining much of their weight back if they stop taking the medication. However, having only received recent approval, the long-term effects of taking Wegovy are unknown.

Ozempic and Wegovy are glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonists that mimic the body’s natural GLP-1 hormone. GLP-1 is released from cells in the small intestine and in smaller quantities by the pancreas and central nervous system. GLP-1 helps regulate appetite, stimulates insulin secretion, inhibits glucagon secretion, and delays gastric emptyin

For weight loss, the semaglutide in Ozempic or Wegovy acts on GLP-1 receptors in the brain’s appetite center to reduce hunger and increase fullness, so people feel full with smaller meals and eat less. Studies show the drug works by decreasing food intake rather than increasing energy expenditure to burn calories.

A study published in 2022 in JAMA Network Open followed 175 patients taking semaglutide over six months. Results showed a reduction in total body weight of 5.9 percent at three months and 10.9 percent at six months.

Out of 175 patients, almost half (85 patients) reported adverse effects, including gastrointestinal symptoms, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and fatigue. Five patients had to stop taking the drug due to the intolerability of adverse effects, while 15 patients had to reduce or remain on the same dose to avoid exacerbation of adverse effects.

The FDA wants you dead!

An Antipsychotic Drug Gets FDA Green Light Despite 4-fold Higher Risk of Death

A questionable green light from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Medical experts left confused and concerned.

This is the story surrounding brexpiprazole, branded as Rexulti: the first antipsychotic approved to treat agitation in Alzheimer’s patients despite alarmingly high death rates and poor results in clinical trials.

Patients prescribed brexpiprazole faced a fourfold increased risk of dying compared to people who didn’t take the drug, according to an investigation published in the British Medical Journal (BMJ).

For medical professionals, the FDA’s move raises troubling questions about efficacy, safety, and regulatory diligence.

The Spice That Prevents Fluoride From Destroying Your Brain

luoride is found everywhere today, from antibiotics to drinking water, no stick pans to toothpaste, making exposure inevitable. All the more reason why research proving this common spice can prevent fluoride damage is so promising.

Fluoride’s neurotoxicity has been the subject of academic debate for decades, and now a matter of increasingly impassioned controversy among the general public, as well. From ‘conspiracy theories’ about it being first used in drinking water in Russian and Nazi concentration camps to chemically lobotomize captives, to its now well-known IQ lowering properties, to its ability to enhance thecalcification of the pineal gland — the traditional ‘seat of the soul’ — many around the world, and increasingly in the heavily fluoridated regions of the United States, are starting to organize at the local and statewide level to oust this ubiquitous toxicant from municipal drinking water.

A compelling study published in the Pharmacognosy Magazine titled, “Curcumin attenuates neurotoxicity induced by fluoride: An in vivo evidence,” adds experimental support to the suspicion that fluoride is indeed a brain-damaging substance, also revealing that a natural spice-derived protective agent against the various health effects associated with this compound is available.

The study was authored by researchers from the Department of Zoology, University College of Science, M.L. Sukhadia University, Udaipur, India, who have spent the past decade investigating the mechanisms through which fluoride induces severe neurodegenerative changes in the mammalian brain, particularly in cells of the hippocampus and cerebral cortex.

Sip With Caution: How This Coffee Variety Could Elevate Cholesterol Levels

People with high blood cholesterol should be careful when drinking coffee.

Coffee is one of the most widely consumed beverages in the world, and not only does it provide a pick-me-up, but it can also prevent several chronic diseases and reduce the risk of death. However, people with high blood cholesterol should be careful when drinking coffee. Some studies have found that the caffeine in coffee increases blood cholesterol levels and that aromatic espresso, French-style filter-brewed coffee, and Turkish coffee are all high-risk choices. In contrast, hand-brewed or drip coffee filtered through filter paper is safer.

Coffee is rich in antioxidants and other active ingredients and has been shown to help prevent liver disease, Type 2 diabetes, dementia, and heart disease.

Large-Scale Survey: Filtered Coffee Is the Healthiest

Although many studies confirm the health benefits of drinking coffee, some found that ingredients in coffee, such as diterpenes, can increase blood cholesterol levels and lead to high blood cholesterol. This is mainly related to the way coffee is brewed.

In a study published in the May 2022 issue of BMJ Open Heart, researchers analyzed the relationship between coffee drinking habits and total blood cholesterol in 21,083 Norwegian middle-aged and older adults aged 40 and older.

By comparing different methods of brewing coffee, including espresso (e.g., capsule coffee brewed in a coffee machine), filtered coffee, brewed coffee (e.g., French press), and instant coffee, the researchers found that drinking brewed or filtered coffee was significantly associated with elevated serum total cholesterol in both men and women. Serum total cholesterol was also higher in people who drank three to five cups of espresso daily, particularly in men.

A study published in the December 2020 issue of the European Journal of Preventive Cardiology also showed an association between coffee brewing method and heart attack and mortality, with coffee brewed using the healthiest filter method.

The researchers recommended that people with high blood cholesterol or those concerned about cholesterol levels should not drink unfiltered coffee brewed in a coffee pot.

Diet Soda During Pregnancy Linked to Autism in Boys

Researchers have found that women were more likely to have a son with autism if they consumed diet soda or other products containing the artificial sweetener aspartame while pregnant or breastfeeding.

The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio scientists discovered that the mothers of boys who had been diagnosed with autism were three times more likely to say they drank at least one diet soda or consumed the equivalent amount of five tabletop packets of aspartame daily.

According to the New York Post, the researchers analyzed reported aspartame consumption of the mothers of 235 children with autism spectrum disorder. Then, they compared the results to a control group of 121 children who had “typical neurological development” and found that the male children with autism were more than three times more likely to have been exposed to aspartame-based products on a daily basis when they were in utero or breastfed. Interestingly, the researchers saw the association only in boys, but not for girls.

Wrist Temperature Could Predict Disease Risk

One day, it may be possible to monitor people for risk of disease through continuously measuring skin temperature.

Researchers have found in a new study that wrist temperature is associated with future risk of disease.

“These findings indicate the potential to marry emerging technology with health monitoring in a powerful new way,” said senior author Dr. Carsten Skarke, an adjunct associate professor of medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania.

Continuous wrist temperature monitoring can shed light on future risk for such common problems as type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, liver disease and kidney failure.

Technocracy: ‘Sustainable’ Is The New Code Word For Genocide

The trouble with writing about Genocide before it actually happens is that you sound tin foil hat crazy, so I went looking for other people who understand and can see patterns. I found English writer Karen Harradine, and US writer Naomi Wolf, and no doubt there are others, not yet found. I am reminded of the US press agents in Berlin, warning their Jewish friends to get out because of the Nazis in the 1920s, a warning few of them acted on. I came to know about this, because my childhood next-door neighbours were German Jews, their father had listened to the warning and got his family out to Australia early enough.  In talking to Karen Harradine, I know it is a great frustration that so many people are so clueless, zombie-like they live their lives.

Naomi Wolf sums it up well in a recent article, “The problem with history is that it has not happened before in just that way. Meaning, just before people were put into boxcars and murdered, you would have sounded crazy if you had said, I am afraid people will be put into boxcars and murdered. Before the English set up inadequate “soup kitchens” with “vile soup” that made the dysentery of a targeted population worse, and hastened their departure from the land or hastened their death, you would have sounded crazy if you had said, I am afraid the British government will subvert the “feeding programs” they are deploying in Ireland, in order to get troublesome tenants off of the land. Before smallpox was used as a bioweapon in an effort to depopulate Native American tribes, in a way that could serve to “Extirpate this Execreble.”

These 2 Popular Proteins Can Cause GI Upset and Allergies

I wouldn’t touch these 2 proteins with a 10-foot pole, and I advise you to do the same for your pet’s comfort and health. Not only are they cheap, low-quality proteins that food manufacturers love to stuff in their foods, they can impact your pet’s development of lean tissue and body flab.

Proteins are the “building blocks of life,” and are essential to the existence of animals.

Despite what some “experts” in pet food would have you believe, plant-based proteins are not interchangeable with animal-based proteins when it comes to nourishing your pet.

Studies show that adult and senior dogs, as well as canine athletes, do best when fed a diet of high-quality, animal-based protein.

It’s important to remember that not all protein is created equal. Even some forms of animal protein (e.g., “meat meals” and feather protein) have poor biologic value, and cannot be digested or assimilated by your pet.

These rendered proteins can be difficult for the body to process, leading to the common recommendation to decrease protein levels in the diet. A better solution is to increase the quality of protein used in pet foods.
