Senor Bob pleads “Not Guilty” …

2.Bob Menendez Pleads Not Guilty To Bribery Charges

Democratic New Jersey Sen. Bob Menendez pleaded not guilty to bribery charges Wednesday during his arraignment at a Manhattan federal court, according to multiple reports.

Menendez and his wife were charged with three counts each stemming from his alleged acceptance of bribes, which included stacks of cash hidden in his home, a luxury vehicle, home mortgage payments and “over one hundred thousand dollars” worth of gold bars, to aid the Egyptian government and enrich three New Jersey businessmen, according to the indictment. His wife, Nadine Menendez, also appeared in court Wednesday and pleaded not guilty.

Menendez was released on $100,000 bond, barred from overseas travel not connected with official Senate business and told to refrain from contacting co-defendants who are not his wife, according to ABC News. Additionally, he was instructed not to contact Senate staff with personal knowledge of the case’s facts without a lawyer present.

3.What Happens to Social Security Payments If the Government Shuts Down?

The looming government shutdown has some Americans worried about what would happen to their Social Security payments if the end-of-the-month deadline passes with no resolution to the gridlock in Washington and parts of the federal government start to grind to a halt.

It appears increasingly likely that Congress will fail to pass the 12 appropriations bills that fund various federal government agencies by the Sept. 30 deadline.

Failure to pass the bills would mean many government operations are halted and hundreds of thousands of federal employees are furloughed—including those at the Social Security Administration (SSA), which administers the Social Security system.

Pathological liar?  Perhaps.  Moron?  For sure!

4.Hunter Biden Received Payments From China Wired to Father’s Address: House Oversight Committee

House Committee on Oversight and Accountability Chairman Rep. James Comer (R-Ky.) subpoenaed and obtained two bank wires revealing that Hunter Biden had received payments from Chinese nationals that were sent to his father, Joe Biden, who was then running for President.

The wire transfers, of upwards of $250,000, were made in July and August 2019 from Beijing, and listed the president’s Wilmington, Delaware, home as the beneficiary address in both cases.

“In 2020, Joe Biden told Americans that his family never received money from China. We’ve already proved that to be a lie earlier this year, and now we know that two wires originating from Beijing listed Joe Biden’s Wilmington home as the beneficiary address when he was running for President of the United States,” said Mr. Comer in a statement released on X.

The bombshell court ruling finding Donald Trump liable for fraud left even his own lawyers scratching their heads — asking the judge on Wednesday to clarify his decision canceling the former president’s New York business licenses.

Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Arthur Engoron’s 34-page ruling from Tuesday would force Trump, 77, to hand over control of his Empire State properties — including Trump Tower in Midtown — to an independent third party, otherwise known as a receiver.

During the Wednesday hearing, Trump lawyer Christopher Kise asked Engoron: “Certain of the entities, physical entities like Trump Tower or 40 Wall St — is the court under the assumption that those assets would be sold or just to be managed under the moderator?”

“I’m not prepared to make a ruling,” Engoron replied.

In his ruling, the judge wrote the receiver must be appointed “to manage the dissolution of the canceled” business certificates for Limited Liability Corporations, or LLCs, under

15-Year-Old London Schoolgirl Stabbed to Death After ‘Turning Down Flowers’ From Boy

A teenage boy has been arrested in London after a girl attending a top private school was stabbed to death on a morning bus, apparently after turning down a ‘romantic’ gesture of flowers.

A 15-year-old girl was attacked in Croydon, South London, “shortly after eight-thirty” Wednesday morning and, despite police and ambulance crews fighting to save her life, was declared dead at the scene. A police spokesman, observing the death of the child is “every parent’s worst nightmare”, said an arrest was made within 75 minutes and they believe the victim and suspect may have been known to one another.

Police have not released the names of either party.

Bangladesh: Nearly 1,000 people die of dengue in severe outbreak

Nearly 1,000 people have died of dengue in Bangladesh in recent weeks, in what authorities say is the country’s most severe outbreak of the disease yet.

Extraordinarily wet monsoons have made it easier for mosquitoes that carry the dengue virus to breed in dirty and stagnant water.

Officials have struggled to contain the spread of the disease and hospitals have been critically overwhelmed.

In severe cases, dengue causes internal bleeding which can lead to death.

Taiwan Unveils First Domestic Submarine to Fend Off China

Taiwan unveiled a prototype of its first submarine assembled at home as it prepares to stave off a potential invasion by China, a feat only made possible with the secretive help of other countries.

The Taiwanese Defense Ministry on Thursday staged the first sea trial of the diesel-electric vessel at its shipbuilder CSBC Corp.’s Kaohsiung dockyard. The submarine – named “Hai Kun” – is one of eight new vessels being developed under a multibillion-dollar program to bolster Taiwan’s naval defenses in the event of war with China.

Astronaut and cosmonauts return to Earth after getting stuck in space for more than a year

A Nasa astronaut and two Russian cosmonauts returned to Earth on Wednesday after being stuck in space for just over a year. American Frank Rubio set a record for the longest US spaceflight – a result of the extended stay.

The trio landed in a remote area of Kazakhstan, descending in a Soyuz capsule that was rushed up as a replacement after their original ride was hit by space junk and lost all its coolant while docked to the International Space Station.

What should have been a 180-day mission turned into a 371-day stay. Rubio spent more than two weeks longer in space than Mark Vande Hei, who held Nasa’s previous endurance record for a single spaceflight.

Russia holds the world record of 437 days, set in the mid-1990s.

Trump is never “MIA” … all of his rivals are polling in single-digit numbers!

Rivals accuse Trump of being ‘missing in action’ at second Republican debate

The debates were worse than Britney Spears doing a Ginsu knives take-off on social media in celebration of Halloween and Michael Myers …

The absence of Donald Trump played a central role in the second Republican primary debate of the 2024 election season, as seven White House hopefuls tried and mostly failed to shake up a race in which the former president remains the clear frontrunner.

Two of Trump’s rivals attempted to capitalize on his absence by criticizing him for skipping the debate, held at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation & Institute in Simi Valley, California. DeSantis mocked Trump as “missing in action”, saying, “He should be on this stage tonight. He owes it to you to defend his record.”

Chris Christie, the former New Jersey governor, suggested Trump was skipping the debates out of fear of facing voters. Addressing Trump in a straight-to-camera diatribe, Christie said, “You’re not here tonight because you’re afraid of being on this stage and defending your record. You’re ducking these things.”

Kevin McCarthy: There Will Be a Government Shutdown If Biden ‘Stays on the Sidelines While Our Border Is Destroyed’

There will be a government shutdown if President Biden “stays on the sidelines,” House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) told reporters this week.

“If President Biden stays on the sidelines while our border is destroyed day after day, the government will shut down,” McCarthy said in a message posted to X.

And here we go (again) with a new narrative about the Maui fires …

What caused the Lahaina inferno? An overgrown gully could hold the answers

Melted remains of an old car tire. Two burned trees. A stump of an abandoned utility pole.

These are among the pieces of evidence investigators are examining as they seek to solve the mystery of last month’s Maui wildfire: how did a small fire sparked by downed power lines and declared extinguished flare up again hours later into a devastating inferno?

The answer may lie in an overgrown gully beneath Hawaiian Electric Co power lines, the Associated Press reports.

The parcel of land operated as a right-of-way by Hawaiian Electric Co, and investigators are examining whether it is the site where smoldering vegetation reignited before sweeping through the historic coastal town of Lahaina in August, killing at least 97 people.

US Supreme Court to Make Decision on Case as 20 Attorneys General Weigh In

A group of 20 attorneys general requested the Supreme Court to overturn a lower court’s ruling on enforcing bans on homeless encampments.

This week, 20 attorneys general from Republican-controlled states petitioned the high court in the case of Johnson v. City of Grants Pass after the U.S. Appeals Court for the Ninth Circuit ruled last year that the Oregon city of Grants Pass violated the U.S. Constitution’s Eight Amendment by enforcing an ordinance to prevent people from sleeping in public if they have no other place to go.

The lawsuit was brought by three homeless individuals in Grants Pass, located near the Oregon–California border, several years ago. They argued that their constitutional rights were violated and sought to overturn the small city’s anti-homeless ordinances that levied fines and other regulations.

House Releases New Information From Whistleblowers on Hunter Biden Probe

A U.S. House of Representatives panel on Sept. 27 released additional information from whistleblowers who worked on the investigation into President Joe Biden’s son.

The U.S. House Ways and Means Committee voted behind closed doors to make public more emails and other documents received from IRS whistleblowers Gary Shapley and Joseph Zeigler.

The tranche of materials includes an August 2020 email from Lesley Wolf, a U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) attorney helping to oversee the investigation of Hunter Biden, telling investigators to redraft a search warrant to remove mention of “political figure 1.”

James Biden Told FBI He Tried to Help Chinese Official Buy US Facility: Memo

James Biden told the FBI he had presented Chinese investors with a deal to develop a port in Louisiana and when he was interviewed as part of an investigation last year. The Chinese ultimately did not go through with the deal.

The report of the interview was made available after the Republican-led House Ways and Means Committee voted on Wednesday to release a new batch of documents obtained through two IRS whistleblowers.

“James B. recalled that the life-changing meeting was the deal with Monkey Island,” the memo reads (pdf).

Senate Passes ‘SHORTS’ Resolution; John Fetterman Must Wear Pants

The U.S. Senate achieved a rare bipartisan milestone Wednesday when it passed the “SHow Our Respect To the Senate” (SHORTS) act, restoring the dress code and forcing Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) to wear pants on the floor.

As Breitbart News reported earlier this month, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) allowed the dress code to lapse in deference to Fetterman, who has adopted hoodies and shorts as part of a “working-class” persona.

United States District Judge Tanya S. Chutkan on Wednesday refused to recuse herself from overseeing the federal case former against President Donald Trump over his alleged role in the January 6, 2021, riot at the U.S. Capitol.

Trump’s attorneys earlier this month filed a motion for Chutkan to recuse herself based on comments she has made at sentencing hearings for multiple January 6 defendants.

New gun control laws in California ban firearms from most public places and raise taxes on gun sales

Two new laws regulating gun control in California were signed by Gov. Gavin Newsom on Tuesday. The laws prohibit people from carrying firearms in most public places and doubles the taxes on guns and ammunition sold in the state.

The federal government currently taxes gun and ammunition sales at a rate of 10% or 11%. The new law adds another 11% tax to sales. This makes California the only state with a separate tax on guns and ammunition, according to Brady, a gun control advocacy organization.

Victoria’s Secret goes “woke”?  How’s THAT possible?

Victoria’s Secret Unveils ‘More Diverse’ Fashion Show After Billion-Dollar Backlash

With its stock price at record lows…

…and sales down a stunning $1.8 billion since 2018 (revenue for its last full fiscal year fell 6.5%, with net income down nearly half)…

Victoria’s Secret has certainly paid the ‘Bud Light’ price for its ‘Go Woke, Get Broke’ business model shift away from ‘sexy’ lingerie to more “culturally relevant” marketing (code for plus sized women, transgender models, and androgynous fashion).

The decision to abandon their much-watched “Fashion Show” – giving in to social justice warriors, many of whom live at home and don’t even have the discretionary income to buy their products anyway – was apparently not a good business decision, and has left a string of failed executives in its wake, most infmaously, Amy Hauk, the leader who was named head of the Victoria’s Secret brand in 2022 and touted ambitious plans to rebuild its product offerings… who then announced her departure after six months.

Rhode Island bank agrees to pay $9m over discriminatory lending allegations

Washington Trust, the oldest community bank in the US, has agreed to pay $9m to resolve allegations that it engaged in lending discrimination against homebuyers in majority Black and Latino neighborhoods, the Department of Justice has announced.

Since the company was founded in 1800 in Rhode Island, the bank has never offered its home loan services at a branch location in a majority-Black or Latino neighborhood throughout the state, including in the state capital of Providence, where the vast majority of the state’s Black and Latino population live.

The practice perpetuated the scourge of redlining, the longstanding racist policy of banks blocking people of color from getting mortgages.

Autoworkers at Trump Speech Boo Biden over 12-Minute Visit to Picket Line

Boos rained down from striking members of the United Auto Workers (UAW) when former President Trump referenced President Joe Biden’s 12-minute visit to Wayne County, Michigan, on Tuesday to “pose for photos at the picket line.”

“Yesterday, Joe Biden came to Michigan to pose for photos at the picket line,” Trump said, drawing a roar of boos for the Democrat president. “But it’s his policies that send Michigan autoworkers to the unemployment line.”

Mouthwashes contain deadly chemicals linked to HEART problems, CANCER, study finds

New research out of Turkey has found that many consumer mouthwash products currently on the market are loaded with deadly chemicals that are linked to cardiovascular disease, cancer, and more.

Turkish researchers looked at 45 mouthwash formulas used by 17 different commercial mouthwash brands sold at Istanbul’s five largest chain stores – many of these brands and formulas are also used in mouthwash products in the United States, by the way.

Depending on the ingredient ratios and concentrations, some of the oral hygiene products with similar-looking labels were found to be more toxic than others, and more likely to cause the potentially life-threatening health conditions outlined in the study.

Side effects of using these toxic mouthwash products were found to range from mild to severe. Some caused minor skin irritation while others caused users to develop headaches. In a worst-case scenario, using a toxic mouthwash product could cause you to get so sick that you die.

The study determined the following concerning the 45 mouthwash formulas tested:

1) Glycerin, associated with kidney and liver deterioration, was found in 31, or more than 68 percent, of tested mouthwashes.

2) Sodium saccharin, an artificial sweetener known to cause cancer, was found in 29, or more than 64 percent, of tested mouthwashes.

3) Propylene glycol, a chemical linked to organ failure when consumed in larger amounts, was found in 28, or about 62 percent, of tested mouthwashes.

15-Minute City: This Statement Should Be Read At Every City Council Meeting In America

After this statement that “schooled” the entire city council in Aurora, ON, notice the spontaneous standing ovation with wild cheering that lasted over 30 seconds. Do you think the citizens got it? Most of the council members look like deer caught in the headlights. I am honored that my work on Technocracy is cited here. Most Canadians understand Technocracy better than their American counterparts.

Still, American citizens could read this statement word-for-word to their city council. If you don’t know how to do it, go to Citizens For FreeSpeech and our signature training center, the Local Activist Accelerator. I founded CFFS and the training site in 2018, and you are well advised to beat a path there before we lose Free Speech altogether.

Warning : Reality Is Escaping Out The Back Door

The total collapse of reality may be at hand. We have already witnessed mass formation during the Great Panic of 2020, where large swaths of the world seemingly lost touch with reality. That was just a foretaste of what is about to come.

This is hard to understand, and you might need to read it multiple times. Do it, lest you fall prey to a simulacrum. If you get it, weigh in the comment section below.

RECALL WARNING: Hyundai and Kia recall nearly 3.4 million vehicles due to fire risk and urge owners to park outdoors

Hyundai and Kia are recalling nearly 3.4 million vehicles in the U.S. and telling owners to park them outside due to the risk of engine compartment fires.

The recalls cover multiple car and SUV models from the 2010 through 2019 model years including Hyundai’s Santa Fe SUV and Kia’s Sorrento SUV.

Documents posted Wednesday by the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration say the anti-lock brake control module can leak fluid and cause an electrical short, which can touch off a fire while the vehicles are parked or being driven.

The automakers are advising owners to park outdoors and away from structures until repairs are done.

How Subsidies in the Inflation Reduction Act Undermine Transmission Reform

Experts across the electricity industry argue that we need more transmission—bigger networks and massive transmission development—and we need it immediately. For example, the U.S. Department of Energy under President Biden and academic advocates of “net zero” policies are calling for aggressive expansion of the transmission system. Proponents of aggressive transmission expansion have a catchphrase: “There is no transition without transmission.” That is certainly true in the case of a transition to generation resources like wind and solar energy, which tend to be located far from demand centers.

However, heeding their call without first addressing the potential to spend $3 trillion on electricity generation subsidies is not a conservative or free‐market approach. Congress should remove the IRA subsidies for mature generation technologies like wind and solar to encourage smart transmission investments that leave electricity customers and federal taxpayers better off. If the IRA subsidies remain in place through a period of rapid transmission expansion, the cost to American taxpayers and electricity customers will escalate.

Growing Morel Mushrooms at Home

Every weekend at the farmers market, I have a few people approach me with a hungry twinkle in their eye (It’s a very thinking-about-morels-specific twinkle) and ask wistfully if it’s possible to grow morel mushrooms at home. It is entirely possible, although many will tell you that growing morel mushrooms is a fool’s errand — the thing is that it usually takes between 3 to 5 years for any morel mushrooms to grow, and you won’t know until they pop up whether or not it worked. Morel mushrooms are quite interesting in that they have several very particular needs in order to grow, one of the most critical being that they have to experience a cold snap in order to trigger growing.
