1.Farmers Insurance pulls out of Florida, affecting 100,000 policyholders

Farmers Insurance will stop offering its policies in Florida, including home, auto and umbrella policies, in a change that will force thousands of people to change their insurance provider.

The company said in a statement that its decision to get out of Florida was a business decision necessary to manage its risk exposure in the hurricane-prone state. Farmers serves 100,000 customers in Florida but said there will be no impact to customers who use Farmers’ owned subsidiaries like Foremost Signature and Bristol West.

“Such policies will continue to be available to serve the insurance needs of Floridians,” Farmers Insurance spokesperson Trevor Chapman said in a statement. “Affected customers will receive notifications detailing when their coverage will end and will be advised of options for replacement coverage.”

3.Lawmakers Launch Bill to Prevent More ‘Accounting Errors’ at Pentagon After $6.2 Billion Flub

Sens. J.D. Vance (R-Ohio) and Josh Hawley (R-Mo.) have introduced legislation to prevent further accounting errors at the Department of Defense (DOD) after a “valuation error” came to light recently at the Pentagon amounting to over $6 billion.

The draft bill (pdf) aims to amend the Foreign Assistance Act of 1961 to require the Pentagon to use accounting methods that capture the true cost to taxpayers of sending weapons to other countries from U.S. stockpiles.

4.Wray Repeatedly Denies FBI Censorship of Conservatives, as Republicans Point to Suppressed Posts

FBI Director Christopher Wray had barely completed his opening statement at the House Judiciary Committee’s FBI oversight hearing on July 12 when Rep. Mike Johnson (R-La.) began a rapid-fire barrage of pointed questions that culminated in a clash of utterly opposed perspectives.

“On July 4th, we had this explosive, explosive 155-page opinion from a federal court in my home state of Louisiana that explains in detail that the FBI has been indirectly involved in what the court says, and I quote, ‘what is arguably the most massive attack on free speech in United States history,” Mr. Johnson told Mr. Wray.

5.Suspected Chinese Hackers Exploited Microsoft Vulnerabilities to Breach Government Email Systems

Hackers believed to be linked to China have exploited vulnerabilities in Microsoft software to breach the email systems at over two dozen organizations, including some U.S. government agencies, as part of a suspected cyber-espionage campaign.

The Wall Street Journal reports that the hackers, identified as “Storm-0558,” exploited a security weakness in Microsoft’s cloud-computing environment to gain access to sensitive computer networks. This development is especially concerning for officials and security researchers, as it is seen as part of a larger espionage campaign that could have compromised valuable U.S. government information.

Report: Chinese Tech Companies Lost over $1 Trillion During Two-Year Crackdown

Data produced by British-American financial analysis firm Refinitv on Wednesday found China’s leading tech companies lost about $1.1 trillion in market value during the Chinese Communist Party’s two-year regulatory crackdown on the industry.

The crackdown, or “rectification” as the regime in Beijing prefers to call it, began suddenly in 2020 as a purported effort to tighten anti-monopoly regulations and improve data security. Foreign analysts suspected the real motivating factor was a desire by dictator Xi Jinping and top Communist Party leaders to bring high-flying tech executives such as Alibaba’s Jack Ma under control.

Major Automakers Criticize EPA’s ‘Extreme’ Electric Vehicle Push

Multinational carmakers Stellantis and Toyota criticized the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) “overly optimistic” plans to promote vehicle electrification, which they warn is unrealistic and gives rise to a host of issues, including an increase in mining.

On April 12, the EPA announced new rules aimed at cutting down greenhouse gasses and other pollutants in motor vehicle emissions. The agency estimated that approving the rules will result in 67 percent of new passenger vehicles and light trucks being electric vehicles (EV) by 2032. In addition, 50 percent of buses, 35 percent of short-haul freight tractors, and 25 percent of long-haul freight tractors are also estimated to become electric.

In comments filed with the federal government, Toyota and Stellantis called EPA expectations “overly optimistic.”

Inflation Slowed In June: Consumer Prices Rise at Slowest Pace Since 2021

Inflation fell to its slowest pace since early 2021 in June, the Department of Labor said on Wednesday.

The U.S. consumer price index rose by three percent compared with a year ago, the government said. Compared with a month earlier, the index was up by 0.2 percent.

Inflation: Grocery prices see small decline last month as egg prices drop and processed foods see sticky inflation

The cost of groceries is slowly coming down, but inflation is still holding on.

Food prices increased slightly in the month of June, rising 0.1% on a monthly basis, which was unchanged from the month prior but less than back in April when prices increased 0.2%. Grocery prices decreased slightly, down 0.1%, that’s only a tick lower than the previous month when prices remained flat. On a year-over-year basis, grocery prices rose at a slower rate than the month prior, up 4.7%. That’s according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics’ (BLS) June Consumer Price Index (CPI) published Wednesday morning.

Per BLS economist Steve Reed, that’s the smallest 12-month change since September 2021.

Let’s start with the good news: Egg prices continue to drop. On a monthly basis, the price of eggs is down 7.3%. Year over year, the price of eggs dropped 7.9%. As of June 2023, the cost of a dozen large grade-A eggs was $2.22. That’s compared to $4.82 back in January of this year.

“Eggs is a very volatile index and, of course, was really thrown around by avian flu issues, and now it’s landed at a spot where it’s lower than it was a year ago,” Reed said.

Elon Musk, the billionaire entrepreneur, launched his long-teased artificial intelligence startup xAI on Wednesday, unveiling a team comprised of engineers from the same big U.S. technology firms that he hopes to challenge in his bid to build an alternative to ChatGPT.

The startup will be led by Musk, already the CEO of electric car maker Tesla (TSLA.O), CEO of rocket launch company SpaceX and owner of Twitter, who has said on several occasions that the development of AI should be paused and that the sector needed regulation. Musk has repeatedly voiced concerns about AI’s potential for “civilizational destruction.”

Robots for Elders: A Trojan Horse?

According to Our World in Data, in 2017, for the first time in history, the number of people older than 64 surpassed the number of children under 5

“Age tech,” from eldercare robots to surveillance devices, is the technocrats’ coveted answer to the problem of the growing number of people with disability and dementia

This demographic imbalance is a result of both the industrial-scale poisoning and the deliberate campaign to reduce fertility, detailed in no uncertain terms in the Kissinger report

To confuse us more, the propagandists are coming up with a whole new language to describe our elders and their needs

US-EU Hold Collaborative Workshop On Digital Twins, AI

EU and US participants discussed topics of mutual interest in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Digital Twins to intensify collaboration in addressing the common challenge of adaptation to climate change.

The workshop, held online on June 26 and 27, was organised in the context of the recently signed EU-US Administrative Arrangement (AA) on AI. The workshop provided a platform for discussion and knowledge sharing among policymakers, scientists, and researchers, emphasizing the transformative potential of digital twins as a policy tool to harness the power of AI for evidence-based decision-making. Linking closely with the EU Destination Earth initiative and similar efforts in the US, the workshop focused on identifying concrete collaboration objectives and next steps on a number of specific topics of mutual interest. The workshop marked an important milestone in EU-US cooperation in cutting-edge technologies, such as AI and Digital Twins of the Earth System for climate change adaptation.

In their opening remarks, Thomas Skordas, Deputy Director-General of the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Communications Networks, Content, and Technology (CNECT), and Dr. Michael Morgan, the US’s National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Environmental Observation and Prediction, stressed the importance of cooperation on initiatives addressing the impacts of climate change. They both highlighted the shared commitment to working together to advance sustainable and innovative solutions through AI and Digital Twins for Earth systems.

Throughout the workshop, over 60 participants discussed issues on four pre-identified topics of mutual interest:

  1. Data access, usage, and exchange
  2. Compute resources for AI /Digital Twins
  3. Collaboration on AI / Digital Twins frameworks and software tools
  4. Ensuring impact for the public good

Participants also exchanged views on the technical, legal, and ethical challenges that the development of digital twins for Earth Science presents, as well as the importance of user engagement through co-design and collaboration.

SURVEILLANCE STATE

Targeted for Tyranny: We’re All Suspects Under the Government’s Precrime Program

Commentary by John Whitehead- “There is now the capacity to make tyranny total in America.”― James Bamford, journalist

We’re all being targeted now.

We’re all guilty until proven innocent now.

And thanks to the 24/7 surveillance being carried out by the government’s spy network of fusion centers, we are all now sitting ducks, just waiting to be tagged, flagged, targeted, monitored, manipulated, investigated, interrogated, heckled and generally harassed by agents of the American police state.

Although these precrime programs are popping up all across the country, in small towns and big cities, they are not making us any safer but they are endangering individual freedoms.

Nationwide, there are upwards of 123 real-time crime centers (a.k.a. fusion centers), which allow local police agencies to upload and share massive amounts of surveillance data and intelligence with state and federal agencies culled from surveillance cameras, facial recognition technology, gunshot sensors, social media monitoring, drones and body cameras, and artificial intelligence-driven predictive policing algorithms.

These data fusion centers, which effectively create an electronic prison—a digital police state—from which there is no escape, are being built in partnership with big tech companies such as Microsoft, Google and Amazon, which helped to fuel the rise of police militarization and domestic surveillance.

While these latest expansions of the surveillance state are part of the Biden Administration’s efforts to combat domestic extremism through the creation of a “precrime” crime prevention agency, they have long been a pivotal part of the government’s plans for total control and dominion.

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

New Federal Rule Could Force Millions of Homes, Schools to Remove Lead Dust

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) on July 11 announced new proposed rules for lead paint in a bid to prevent hundreds of thousands of children from being exposed to the toxic substance.

Officials predict that the rule will reduce lead exposures for 250,000 to 500,000 children younger than the age of 6 each year, the agency said in a statement. The mandate would enhance the EPA’s regulations under section 402 of the Toxic Substances Control Act, which would revise the standards for how much lead dust can be on floors, window sills, and other locations in older buildings.

California Proposes ‘Toilet-to-Tap,’ Turning Wastewater into Drinking Water

California’s State Water Resources Control Board proposed regulations on Tuesday that would allow for “toilet-to-tap” programs that recycle wastewater and add it back to drinking water systems.

In a statement, the board said:

[T]he State Water Resources Control Board announced today proposed regulations that would allow for water systems to add wastewater that has been treated to levels meeting or exceeding all drinking water standards to their potable supplies. The process, known as direct potable reuse, will enable systems to generate a climate-resilient water source while reducing the amount of wastewater they release to rivers and the ocean.

Direct potable reuse relies entirely on immediate, multi-barrier treatment that can recycle wastewater to drinking water standards in a matter of hours. This contrasts to the method currently being deployed in major projects launched throughout the state, called indirect potable reuse, which further improves treated wastewater over time through groundwater recharge or dilution with surface water. While no formal direct potable reuse projects can be initiated in California until the regulations are adopted, water agencies in Santa Clara, San Diego and the city of Los Angeles have launched pilot projects in recent years.

U.S. Farms Import 200K Foreign H-2A Workers as GOP Appropriators Seek More than Ever

Farms across the United States have ballooned the number of foreign H-2A visa workers imported to take agricultural jobs, just as Republicans on the House Appropriations Committee are seeking more foreign workers than ever before.

Annually, the federal government allows U.S. farms to import an unlimited number of foreign workers through the H-2A visa program specifically to take agricultural jobs. The program, as Breitbart News has chronicled for years, is fraught with fraud and abuse.

Pig Beans — The Latest GMO Frankenfood

One of the latest GMO Frankenfoods is Piggy Sooy, a soybean genetically engineered to contain pig protein. One or more undisclosed pig genes are spliced into conventional soya to create a soybean with 26.6% animal protein

Moolec, the U.K.-based company that developed Piggy Sooy, is also working on developing a pea plant that produces beef protein. The company claims these transgenic hybrids will provide similar taste, texture and nutritional value as meat, without the high cost of cultured or lab-grown meat alternatives

June 21, 2023, the U.S. Department of Agriculture authorized the sale of cell-cultivated chicken from Good Meat and Upside Foods. Both plan on rolling out their synthetic chicken to “high-end” restaurants across the U.S. first, while they scale up production

Researchers have discovered that CRISPR-Cas gene editing wreaks havoc in the plant genome, causing several hundred unintended genetic changes to occur simultaneously “in a catastrophic event” that ripples across large parts of the genome

Because these changes are impossible to predict, gene edited plants cannot be assumed safe without extensive testing

Is Your Butter Safe? ‘Forever Chemicals’ Found in 8 Brands of Butter Wrappers

A study sponsored by Mamavation and Environmental Health News found 50% of 32 butter wrappers from 22 brands tested by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency contained fluorine, a PFAS chemical harmful to human health.

Wrappers from eight brands of butter have detectable levels of total fluorine, an indicator of the group of chemicals known as per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances, or PFAS, according to a new report from Mamavation.

Partnering with Environmental Health News, or EHN.org, the environmental wellness blog and community had 32 wrappers from 22 brands tested by a U.S. Environmental Protection Agency-certified lab and found levels of total fluorine ranging from 11 parts per million to 112 ppm in 16 of the wrappers.

Fluorine is a strong indicator of “forever chemicals”— which have been linked to everything from cancer to birth defects to lower vaccine effectiveness.

EHN.org partially funded the testing and Pete Myers, chief scientist of Environmental Health Sciences, which publishes Environmental Health News, reviewed the findings.

The report builds on EHN.org and Mamavation’s growing library of consumer products tested for evidence of PFAS, including products such as contact lenses, pasta and tomato sauces, sports bras, tampons, dental floss and electrolytes.

While many are aware of PFAS pollution in water, the testing finds that we’re also exposed by the things we wear or eat. You can explore more reporting from our collaboration with Mamavation: “PFAS on our shelves and in our bodies.”

What butter brands are PFAS-free?

Mamavation sent 32 butter wrappers from 22 brands for testing and half of the wrappers (from eight of the brands) had indications of PFAS. Some products were tested more than once and the results varied.

These brands had detectable levels of total fluorine: HEB Organic, Kate’s, Kerrygold, Kirkland, Maple Hill Organic, Miyokos, Organic Valley and Wegmans.

Mamvation also highlighted brands that had butter wrappers free from PFAS evidence, including 365 Whole Foods, Clover Sonoma, Horizon Organic, Nature’s Promise, Straus Family, Trader Joe’s and others.

Even a Few Minutes of Daily Light Exercise Can Lower Depression Risk

There are some days when many of us just want to stay in bed from morning to night or remain glued to the couch indefinitely. While lounging can certainly be a good time every once in a while, researchers from the University of Limerick have uncovered yet another reason for everyone to prioritize a little bit of movement — especially older individuals. Their study finds modest amounts of physical activity each day can reduce the risk of depression.

This research, conducted in collaboration with Trinity College Dublin, reports that a “dose” equal to just 20 minutes per day (for five days a week) of moderate-intensity physical activity (brisk walking, for example) displayed an association to less risk of depressive symptoms and chances of major depression.

Recent studies have concluded that moderate-to-vigorous physical activity (MVPA) can benefit those at risk for depression.

“However, there is no agreement on how much physical activity is protective for depression overall, or how this may vary among adults with disease,” says Dr. Eamon Laird, lead author on the paper and a post-doctoral researcher in the Department of Physical Education and Sport Sciences at UL, in a university release.

“For this work, we used 10 years of data from the Irish Longitudinal Study On Ageing which included information on depression, MVPA, and other key health-related variables such as disease, lifestyle factors and socio-economic status.”

“We sought to identify the lowest dose of MVPA associated with protection against Major Depression and depressive symptoms and the extent to which this varied based on the presence of chronic disease,” Dr. Laird continues.

Additional key findings reported by researchers:

  • A physical activity dose equivalent to roughly 20 minutes daily of MVPA (brisk walking) for five days weekly was associated with a 16-percent lower rate of depressive symptoms and 43 percent lower odds of Major Depression.
  • Researchers noted a dose-response effect; more MVPA led to greater protection from depression.
  • More specifically, doses equivalent to ~30 minutes a day of MVPA had an association with a seven-percent lower risk of depressive symptoms and 44 percent lower odds of Major Depression.
  • Doses equal to ~60 minutes a day of MVPA were associated with a 16-percent lower risk of depressive symptoms and 41 percent lower odds of Major Depression.
  • Doses equal to ~120 minutes a day of MVPA were associated with a 23-percent lower chance of depressive symptoms and 49 percent lower odds of Major Depression.
  • All of these findings remained significant even after study authors controlled for relevant health-related factors like biological sex, education, age, smoking and alcohol habits, obesity, antidepressant use and time.
  • Findings were materially the same for older adults – both with and without a chronic illness.

“This study is very relevant given the high prevalence of depression in our increasing older adult population. Physical activity at lower doses than World Health Organization recommendations for overall health may offer protection against depressive symptoms and Major Depression – at minimum, try to engage in 20 minutes a day of moderate-intensity activity at least five days per week, with more benefits seen at higher doses,” Dr. Laird reports.

2023: Santa Clara University Students Must Take mRNA Covid Shots Or Withdraw

College COVID vaccine mandates remain some of the most coercive mandates ever declared. While most colleges have now rescinded their mandates, some colleges refuse to let go, and Santa Clara University in California is one of the most oppressive.

In late April 2021, after most incoming freshmen had committed, SCU announced that all students were required to get COVID vaccines for fall enrollment or after full approval, whichever was later.

Then by mid-summer, SCU announced that students would be required to receive the vaccine even if it remained authorized only for emergency (EUA) and despite the fact that the CA Health and Safety Code codifies the Nuremberg Code. Section 24172 states

“(t)here is, and will continue to be, a growing need for protection for citizens of the state from unauthorized, needless, hazardous, or negligently performed medical experiments on human beings. It is, therefore, the intent of the Legislature, in the enacting of this chapter, to provide minimum statutory protection for the citizens of this state with regard to human experimentation and to provide penalties for those who violate such provisions.”

SCU (and many other CA colleges and universities) are in direct violation of this Code for removing informed consent by mandating EUA medical treatments.

CDC is caught fraudulently altering Death Certificates to hide COVID Vaccine Deaths

An investigation of official death certificates has found that the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) has been committing fraud by refusing to assign the correct International Classification of Diseases code for Covid-19 vaccine side effects as the cause of death when they should have done so.

In other words, the CDC is actively engaging in a huge cover up of deaths due to Covid-19 vaccination.

2 Types of Vaccinated or Long-COVID Patients Have a Higher Risk of Blood Clots

People grappling with long COVID and vaccine injury have one potential problem to worry about: blood clots. Some are more likely to find themselves caught up in this conundrum than others, and the reason may be beyond their control.

Tiny blood clots, often called microclots, can wreak havoc on the body. Forming in small blood vessels, they obstruct the flow of vital nutrients and oxygen, leaving a trail of breathlessness, brain fog, and exhaustion in their wake.
